▶️Is Boeing still producing the 747?
Final delivery in October. It seems as though the final Boeing 747 is going to be delivered in October 2024. Earlier this year, it was revealed that Atlas Air had purchased the last four 747s to be built.
▶️How many 747 are still flying?
However, according to the latest update of the Boeing 747 operators list, only 438 Jumbo Jets, including cargo planes of the type, are still flying.
▶️Does Boeing still make the 747-8?
Boeing 747 customer Atlas Air (5Y) confirmed that the last unit of the aircraft type is expected to be delivered in October 2024. It will be one of the four aircraft 5Y ordered at the beginning of the year. These Boeing 747-8 freighters will be the last ones in the entire 747 history.
▶️Why did Boeing discontinue the 747?
Airlines had already been retiring the aircraft over the past few years, but when the Covid-19 pandemic sharply curtailed air travel worldwide, the final few commercial 747 landed for good. Boeing says it will deliver the last aircraft to Atlas Air in 2024.

Moat of the flights were from the west coast to Asia, but a few to Europe. I will miss that airplane but time goes on with new technology.

The term "factory" is misleading. Nothing is manufactured there. They only assemble the parts that were manufactured by supplier companies.
I have a bad taste in my mouth about jit delivery thanks to the auto industry. Boeing must do it better than we do. All it means to the auto companies is discounts from suppliers for parts that are late, because they ALWAYS are
