This is one of the best kingdom hearts guides I've ever seen. Laid out perfectly. Keep up the good work please! Starting a play through of the entire series.... again... and plan on following as many guides as you have. Thanks!
Update: Killed him first try I've ever attempted him. Guide definitely helped lol
@@audien9178 Thanks so much, Mike! I'm so happy that the guide helped. Congrats on the win!
This was very helpful especially the “hide behind the clock tower” trick.
Glad to hear it, Jeremy! 💙
This requires more work than my finals 😵💫
This was structured like a mythic raiding guide for WoW. Incredible quality guides, you have saved me what I imagine would be hours, thank you.
Thanks so much! 👑💙
Really nice editing. Presentation looks _simple and clean_ and the directions are nice and concise. Great job.
Thanks, Atomic! 💙
I see what you did there
🎀 This boss felt like I was playing a turn-based RPG fr
About to hit this boss tonight. Just used your guide to best the ice titan with ease.
I haven't played this since I was a kid when it was on ps2. Just started playing 1.5 last week and immediately started on Final Mix: Proud. The Phantom has been whipping my rear 😂 I remember this being my favorite boss though
You could give guides on any game and I'd watch for the knowledge. You really break things down well and speak so clearly.
Thank you sooooo much I’ve been struggling so much but after watching this I did it on my second try. Please keep on making these videos they are absolutely amazing! The format of your videos are the best
Thanks for the feedback, Jacky Boy! Congrats on the win!
Rather than just serving as an optional boss fight, the Phantom haunting the clock tower was actually a way for you to return to Hook's ship.
Think about it, if a player somehow never touched the Save Point A's in the ship and sealed the keyhole, they could only return to the Neverland's clock tower. The SP B in the cabin takes you to the Gummi Ship, but disappears once you've sealed the keyhole. When first setting foot in Neverland, Sora is near but is never on the spot of the Save Point A. I would like to believe one of the developers thought this through.
I had never thought of that before - very interesting!
here i am back again.
i remember last time i did this i was mega panicky. i hate timed bossfights :(
when i finally did it i took a photo with my phone and bragged to my friends. i died like 40 times before i had it down.
this guide is amazing. calm to the point. and simple to follow thanks
Holy shit it felt like a war out there.. thanks for the guide I would've never beat him if it wasn't for your help
I'm glad the video helped, Cyan! Congrats on defeating the Phantom!
Just gotta say this guide is awesome. I've watched numerous videos and the phantom made me super nervous just do to the countdown timer and me not being confident in my stopga ability.
That being said, thanks to this video, I beat the Phantom 1st try on Proud Mode. Also being level 100 going into this fight with all T3 spells just made it a cake walk for damage output.
I tried fighting the phantom twice before in an old playthrough and I got destroyed lol but after watching this I feel it's way easier than it seems if you plan right lol the hardest part seems to be scrolling through the menu to cast different magics quickly lol I got this now, just gonna grind a few levels first! Lol wonderful guide thank you!
You've got this, jenkem! Best of luck! 👍
Very helpful and VERY well put together. Thanks for your efforts. instant subscription
Thanks, Mick! 💙
Thank you sooo much with this tutorial I was able to defeat The Phantom with your strategy! I realized your party members should be able to handle it when the ball turns white. This should give you some time to heal.
I just beat the phantom at level 53. My hands are shaking, I was at Sora's countdown with only 2MP left. Very fun.
This video helped me a lot with defeating the Phantom boss at the clock tower.
Love your guides!!! Helped me beat the ice titan perfectly
Glad to hear it, Jordan! Congrats on taking down the Ice Titan!
Thank you sooooo much! Probably the most helpful guide I've seen ! ^.^
Thanks so much, Lulu! 💙
Great channel can’t wait for Ansem he’s working me bad right now
First time going through KH1, found this boss to be the easiest of all the secret bosses. Found this channel to help with the Ice Titan, but I love watching because of how thorough you are with it as well as the editing. Take this sub 👍🏽 major props familia
Thanks so much for the feedback, Amaan! I hope you enjoy the rest of your playthrough!
This guide is awesome. Just some other things I want to add that helped me as I was doing it myself. When hiding from his beam attack, you have enough time to stop the clock AND reset wind magic from the menu just in case you get hit during the next cycle. The other thing is once you do this, highlight cure in the menu and back out before resuming the fight. This way if you ever need to cure quickly, you don't need to navigate the menu as much.
These are great tips, Jacob - thanks for sharing them!
Just defeated another boss because of these awesome guides
Thanks for the guide i was able to beat him finally
I was in too big a hurry through certain parts of the game and found this a-hole guarding my clock tower hourly treasures. But your strat is so solid it works at level 54 with Lady Luck and -ara spells. Took patience, but only 8 ethers and I got my prize no problem.
Thanks! This helped
Thank you so much
I fought and fought and fought
I watched your video
I finally beat his ass with confidence
KH. 👑 ❤ For life🤘
Congrats on the win! 🥳
I also defeated this boss on my first try. Thank you!
*equips Stopga*
Great tutorial explanations would like to see volcanic trailer tutorial please and thank you
I thought I was remembering something wrong, because I only dealt like chip damage - but that is how it' s supposed to be. Even with Level 65+ this took me over 15 minutes. Thank you.
yeah devs hardcoded that shit into it. look up a guy who had lvl 100 sora.
even at 100 it took him 6 hits to defeat the destiny island kids and riku.
FINALLY!! some closure in preparation! I was HECK BENT on know what darn level i needed and what abilities. I was in LV 55 when getting to the phantom...i for sure had a HARD time.
Already beat him but came here to show support 👍
Thanks so much, Jamal! 💙
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
I was really struggling with this fight until I found this video! I’m attempting a 100% kh1 run, that’s with all ps4/ps5 trophies. So this was very helpful!
Awesome to hear! Congrats on the win, and best of luck of your 100% playthrough! 👍
you automatically get Firaga after defeating the behemoth and sealing the keyhole in hollow bastion. of course blizzard, thunder, stop and aero magic are optional to upgrade. you get Blizzard if you do Wonderland or Agrabah first and get Blizzara in the Hades Cup. Thunder Magic if you do Phil's Traning, Defeat Giant Ursula or Defeat Cerberus in the Hades Cup first, Stop Magic if you complete Pooh's Swing or Defeat the Parasite Cage first.
the only needed spell really is aeroGA because like he said it makes the dark ball thing mean nothing.
if u wanna pure dps elemental spells to GA/3
@@miciso666Aeroga was going to be my next method to use against The Phantom but unlocking on it (recommended so you can escape a lot quicker) and going to the side of Clock Tower has been very helpful too!
A quick fact check, the Phantom appears at the clock tower after you complete just your first visit to Hollow Bastion, not after the keyhole is sealed. This may be important if you're like me and want to collect all the items from the clock tower, since the Phantom being present will prevent you from being able to access the doors. It IS possible to beat at a lower level than recommended in the video, though it'll take a while. I did it at level 48 myself, and my successful run took about 18 minutes
EDIT: Another tip I'll offer is to not fly too far away from the Phantom, particularly if you're a lower level and/or lack the Second Chance ability. When the Phantom reveals its heart, it'll swoop in for a claw attack after a second or two, and if the heart is yellow (thus requiring Thunder magic), if you're too far away it may be challenging to time the Thunder spell properly since it has a limited cast range, unlike Fire or Blizzard. Failing a Thunder cast was responsible for at least one or two of my losses, since I got one-shot by any of its attacks at the level I fought it at
great video as always please make ansem tutorials
You can also use lion heart too
I beat this when it came out and I was 10 years old on the PS2. We didn't have detailed guides available back then.
So the fact that 10 year old me figured it out and 31 year old me is having issues is... disturbing lmao
I am rather happy to find some more current footage of the Phantom, Gonna be doing a Cosplay of it so all the Pov's of it are a good thing.
Yooo that would be a sick cosplay! I would love to see pictures when you finish it!
@@KHGuides once it's finished I'll gladly send some pics but won't be ready till October or so
@@GrimReaper12833 Did you ever do it?
@@majestyvondoom I did actually but still waiting for more photos to come out of it, once I have some I'll throw a link or something in here
Once you get the hang of it it becomes more tedious than hard. Just make sure you do not run out of elixers.
also, a correction on how the Phantom appears. this boss only appears after completing the 1st story episode of Hollow Bastion.
In all honesty, Goofy with MP Gift makes the Phantom pretty easy.
If you want a challenge, use Donald.
20 years I haven’t beat it, I think I can now
Also, _spooky_ trivia, but did you know if you let the Doom counter go all the way down, Sora _won't_ actually make a sound when he is knocked out?
WHOA I never knew that! I'm gonna have to give that a listen! 👻
Probably the scariest enemy knowing it can kill party members permanently
Currently doing a kingdom key only run on proud mode and this boss feels impossible with this challenge
Phantom, the closest thing to fighting Castlevania's Death in Kingdom Hearts, minus the scythe.
Still can't figure out how to trigger this boss. Whenever I try to fast travel to neverland it says that the clock tower is unavailable.
Hi, Ghost Host! The clock tower becomes unavailable in the save station select menu when the Phantom takes up residence there. You'll need to land in the Ship: Cabin area and talk to Tinkerbell in the corner (with Peter Pan in your party) to initiate the boss fight at the clock tower.
This was the only obstacle I have left to 100% the original game on PS2
Please release an ansem phase 2 video😕
Hello.
It doesn’t let me cast stop on the clock. Even if I’m right next to the clock. The marker goes to focus on the phantom. What should I do?
You have to toggle your lock-ons. It’ll take practice to get used to it but shouldn’t be long.
MORE VIDEOS! COVER ALL KH.
I'm planning to! 💪
@@KHGuidesI have been playing KH since 1 but never stopped to try and defeat the secret bosses, have already defeated 3 just by watching your vídeos. Keep up
Just defeated the Phantom! Thanks to you. Tomorrow is time for Sephiroth and maybe enigmatic man ? dunno@@KHGuides
What do you win after beating the Phantom?
Upgraded stop magic! You can find more info here: www.khguides.com/kh/combat/bosses/phantom
Is the diamond dust Keychain not on the ps2 version ? I beat the ice titan and didn't receive the Keychain and can't seem to find a trophy from where I beat him I've got the ray of light but I'm not sure if the rune armlet is in this version I know the shiva belt isn't I'm now at level 58
Correct! Diamond Dust is exclusive to the Final Mix version. Nothing aside from EXP is awarded after defeating Ice Titan in the PS2 version of KH1.
@@KHGuides there is a fm version for ps2 but it was only released in Japan
You don’t really need Diamond Dust to defeat The Phantom. Lady Luck should be enough. Just make sure you give Ethers to Goofy periodically so he can give out his 1 MP bar to fill your MP gauge with 3 bars via MP Gift. That should make up for the loss of Diamond Dust in the original game.
About to fight this mans with 18 Mp on proud.
You've got this, Cashew! 👍
@@KHGuides Got the Platinum, now for Re:Com. I've heard it's a pain but I actually enjoy it.
I beat it lvl 1 on proud lol! And picked sword and sacrificed rod ☠️💀
Man, I haven't struggled with Phantom like, at all, since I figured out how to beat him. In fact, it got to the point back in the day where he never managed to even cast Doom on anyone in my party, regardless of what EXP level I fought him on.
I didn't even have problems fighting Phantom at level 48, though it's typically around a 20-minute fight. I even started playing KH I again recently for the first time in over a decade, and one of the first things I did was take on Phantom at level 48. Was _still_ easy.
Here's a couple things I can add to this:
- One thing I usually do when fighting Phantom at low levels is give my ethers to Goofy instead of myself, as with disabling his and Peter Pan's MP-spending abilities sans MP Gift, giving Goofy an ether is really like giving myself _three_ ethers (MP Gift only costs Goofy 1 MP on OG Kingdom Hearts I)
- You _can_ use Donald in your party for Phantom, but since you can never fully disable Donald's MP usage and he has fewer item slots than most party members, the lower the EXP the less you want him in this fight. I can't even imagine taking on Phantom with Donald in your party with EXP levels below 40.
"oh man sephiroth from kh2 is so difficult i cant beat him"
this fucking thing:
I get the boss to 1% ho but no matter how many time i hit him with his weakness or attack the white hearth he wouldn't die!!!!
That's interesting! What system are you playing on (PS/XBox/PC)? And do you have the ability to save video footage? I'd love to see that!
@@KHGuides i was playing in the ps5, but i havent recorded any footage sorry :( after i close the game and tried again he died normally
This guy is like the Belphagor fight in Bravely Default, but worse.
I thought trying to figure out where to go in this game was BS but man this boss makes you want to quit the game uninstall it and never want to touch it again then drive the developers and make sure they never ever are allowed to make a game again
Amazing how this guy wrecks someone who stumbles on him, but is pathetically useless to anyone who knows the attack patterns. His swipe goes from an instant death condition to the equivalent of a kid reaching for the cookie jar that's way out of reach if you just don't chase him down.
Easiest boss in the game by far
Septhroith is easier in my opinion
I don't remember this fight at all.
Well it was in the original PS2 version
Worst thing in this entire game
I really hope they fired the person who made this boss
A KH guide for generation Z kids. 😬
