@@smiler6326Yup. It was a guy from New York. Apparently he won a Final Fantasy contest and got his name into the game. Kurt Zisa was exclusive to the North American version alongside the Phantom boss fight until the Final Mix version came out in Japan.

I remember reading the strategy guide to beat this guy. Good times. You made an excellent guide on how to beat this boss! I didn’t know those explosive orbs during the magic phase could be sent back to the boss’s shield!
This tutorial was very helpful thank you! Those spin attacks were definitely the worst to avoid. I gotten many times but I did avoid them a few times rolling seems to help the most. I tried jumping for it’s horizontal spin but didn’t work out for me. Keeping Aladdin alive is what really got me through this fight!
It's probably been said already, but if you're quick enough you can summon Tinkerbell right at the start of the fight before the first silence goes off, giving you more reliable healing throughout the fight as long as you don't mind not using the other summons as a tradeoff.

Holy shit! Those spin attacks were a fucking nightmare! I was able to dodge some by rolling in the dips in the sand but Tinkerbell carried me through most of those assaults.
Love these guides. I just wish there were one for Ansem because I’m struggling with his laser spam. 😅😭

Aw, man, in the OG Kingdom Hearts, Kurt Zisa's the toughest enemy next to Sephiroth. Never played FM, but I'm willing to bet Unknown/Mysterious Man rivals Zisa in that department.
I managed to beat Zisa at level 48 a few times, but fighting it at such a low level is definitely nerve-wracking.

I beat him first try tho lol! At level 86 with Ultima weapon, Gaia Bangle, Cosmic Arts, and Crystal Crown! And I also had Tinkerbell with me :) and I ALSO I didn't have Aladdin with me ☠️
I found the vertical spin easier to dodge thant the horizonal spin
I played level 💯 for Sora Donald and Aladdin defeated Kurt Zisa without losing
Oh....so that's what you're suppose to do in that phase....

While grinding for making the ultima , I mistaken took the flying carpet cuz I thought it would bring me to the cavern mouth , end to this boss at lvl 85 , no tactics needed 😂

honestly hes not that difficult to me especially for a secret boss, you really just need to watch out for when he starts spinning through the air back and forth as that can do some real damage to sora

I have beat him on Proud Level 90 and never find out I can jump his horizontal slashing😵😵😵😵

However I did notice what I believe is an error.
For abilities, you instructed to equip the ability Lucky Strike, which increases the drop rate of rare items.
I believe a better (or the proper) ability to equip would be the Jackpot ability, which increases the HP/MP drop rate from enemies.
Thanks, Michael! Lucky Strike is helpful for boosting odds for the items that Kurt's hands can drop (Mega-Potion/Mega-Ether/Elixir), but you're totally right about equipping Jackpot to increase the number of HP/MP orbs. Good call!

In the Final Mix version of the game, Sora learns the Zantetsuken combat ability!
Why i can't get the reward even i beat kurt zisa?
The Zantetsuken ability is only available in the Final Mix version of the game. If you're playing the FM version and still don't receive it, check Sora's ability list and check if it's there already.
this games enemies have way too much super armor and invincibility which makes them feel like a cop out

It released on PC on Epic around the time of your comment. It came out on Steam last month so it has popularity again.
