I am afraid that Angel Hernandez is now setting the precedent for way too many other MLB umpires when it comes to gross incompetence in calling balls and strikes. This year, I have witnessed entire MLB umpire crews successfully umpiring in the same wretched manner that Angel Hernandez does. They are negatively impacting the game and making the strongest case ever to be replaced by technology. I am used to seeing a few bad calls per game. Now it has grown to a few bad calls every inning. And the umpires seemingly don't care that they have been infected with the Angel Hernandez Sucks virus. They lie to the players and managers on live TV while looking them in the eyes. I would fire myself as an umpire if I sucked as bad as many of them do nowadays. Bring on the high tech strike zone. They review close plays on the bases, so we may as well start getting the strikes and balls correct.

Well at least it's a 2 way colossal ineptitude and he's not just calling those on one side. Honestly, looking at that, I'd say the guy has vision loss in his right side peripheral and he's not seeing where it is until the catcher brings it back in, and since that's where he first saw it, he's calling it a strike.

Later in the season, maybe after the All Star break, some team that is 15 games below .500 should just refuse to play when he is behind the plate. Can you imagine the press coverage of a whole team refusing to play? Even better would be if a team in first by 5 games did it!

All you can ask of an ump is consistency. None of the right-handed hitters adjusted by standing on the plate.

You all don't get it. Angel Hernandez can see many futures at once-this supreme power allows him to see into different dimensions and, thus, he sees all outcomes at once. However he must then make a call but due to the Butterfly Effect, he knows that every small change in the past can lead to world-changing events. He sees all this! For all we know he probably has stopped WWIII multiple times! Please have some respect for the All-Seeing Umpire Supreme, Angel Hernandez.

Pitchers just need to throw pitches outside when Angel is behind the catcher, that might call more attention if pitchers just throw so far outside that it shuts down the offense. Pitchers that have Angel Hernandez as the ump will get no hitters all day!

Even if there was no history before this game, this video alone should be enough to preclude Angel Hernandez from ever again umpiring a MLB game, or AAA game, or AA game or A+ game, or A game, or college game, or high school game, or little league game, or T-ball game. It can't be aptly described in the English language what an embarrassing disgrace Hernandez is. Not only does he make it impossible for the players to actually play an honest game of baseball... he insults the game itself.

Let’s clarify one thing. His current strike zone is acceptable in NCAA, high school and below but definitely not MLB. However I can’t explain him missing the obvious strikes. For those critics who don’t agree I have umpired at ALL these levels for 40 years. He might need to retire if he can’t call the current acceptable MLB strike zone?
