  • In the oven... traditional uunimakkara would take, about 20-30 min in 200 degrees C... you can e.g. make a deepish cut (length-wise) and insert some cheese wedges before shoving the thing into oven... Hard cheese like Emmental is good, but other varieties may also do. Also you may squeeze some tomato purée into the cut before inserting the cheese wedges... even if you do not use cheese etc, it's a good idea to make some diagonal cuts onto the sausage before putting it into the oven, like what you see below...
    Lenkkimakkara can also be wrapped in (strong) aluminium folio... maybe with some onion rings etc... and prepared on the saunakiuas
    After the cooking, mustard and/or ketchup... voilá!
