'72 C10 Electric Hatch Build for Raised Bed Floor - Supercharged LS Swap Chevy Truck Ep. 19

- You've watched us throw this 1972 Chevy C10 on to a brand new GSI chassis. We got it sitting down on its frame with the help of Airlift performance air ride set up. We smoothed out our firewall to be the perfect backdrop for our Whipple supercharged LS3, with our custom valve covers made by our friend JC Customs. We made an entirely custom interior, with a hand fabricated dash, all wrapped and upholstered by Lee from E3 customs. We even hand formed our bench seat. We got it all wired up, sending power from our Holley terminator to our pro dash and everywhere in between. Then we sat it down our a custom set of 3 piece Vossen wheels. We built and raised bed frame. Chopped some expensive wood to build a bed floor. Now there's only one step left. The cherry on top of the icing, on top of this cake.
We're building an electric actuated hatch to give us access to all of the good stuff below the surface of the bed. Our friend Chucksee sent us some of his actuators to make sure we can pop this thing open with just the click of a button. But before we can even think about how this hatch is going open, we have to build out the door. Which means fabricating hinges, a frame, and designing the look of the panel.
With the hatch done, there's only one thing left to do, and that's deliver this truck to the customer. So make sure to stay tuned for the final walk around.
Now that this truck is done, we're able to turn our focus back to the Godzilla swapped Lincoln Continental and the twin turbo LSX Chevelle. So make sure to subscribe so you don't miss all the other insane builds we have coming for ya! - Auta a dopravní prostředky
You are a true hardworking artist. Beautiful job 👍🤓🇫🇷
Thank you so much 😀
Skills to pay the bills!
This truck is a work of art.
thank you!
Artwork, and not simply... 👏👏👏👏
That is one beautiful truck!
We're stoked with how it turned out!
Can’t wait to see it on the road 🔥
ever consider using high end kitchen hardware for those doors. The hardware tends to be hidden and the action is usually smooth and you can even get soft close hinges.
A lot of the times we end up going with boat hardware, since it's made to withstand the weather (and especially the salt in the air from being so close to the beach down here). Kitchen hardware is a good idea though. I wonder how it would hold up to the elements
Mikey you and your crew do amazing work!
Thanks!
Mikey you're an artist man
Thank you!
🎶 Smoooth actuatooor, smooth actuator.
If we had the budget like that for music licensing, that would definitely be the song choice!
@@SalvagetoSavage When you mentioned the actuator, Sade's song Smooth Operator came to mind lol
I’ve got a 79 F-150 with a fiberglass front tilt clip, I’m going the same route with the tilt part of your bed, BUT you gave me some way better ideas!! Thanks. Killer job.
Love to hear that! Hope the project goes smoothly! Tag us in the finished build. We'd love to see it!
I love watching your videos. It’s relaxing.
Great job and great to see it complete!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Turned out nice! Great work and attention to details…
Thank you so much 😀
You guys always do awesome work 👍
Thank you! We really appreciate it!
Beautiful work man, thats one clean truck from front to back!
Just wow !! What a job
My savages at Werk as usual
Hope you're doing well Luis! Thanks for the support!
This turned out pretty trick!
We're really stoked with how the whole bed turned out!
Work of art, love it! 👍
Really nice work. Detailing that after a drive in the rain is going to be a nightmare. Beautiful build otherwise!
Very sharp! Nicely done!
Thanks a lot!
DANG what a beauty. The things that impress me more than anything is the small details. The ones no one sees but YOU know they are there.
Those are always the parts that we love the most!
She’s a beauty! Thanks Mike and everyone who worked on this truck!
See you next week!!
Thank you so much! We'll have some continental content coming for you next Wednesday!
That far exceeded all expectations! Such a sick build!!!
All the pieces really came together nicely!
Soooooooo nice. Great work team.
Thank you so much!
Another dope video
Appreciate it!!
Really nice work!
Glad you think so!
You certainly have an eye for detail Mikey. It's all in the name.
Nice work
Thank you! Cheers!
Mikey Rolls....Salvage to Savage turns out some of the BEST work i have seen. Keep it up bro! Excellence does have a name!
Thank you so much!
With that gap that you mentioned, you could run an led strip their to add some ambient lighting to the bed
We got some led's running under there already to light up the frame & airlift components when we're at shows!
Yes, a lot of work, but what a great show
All the best to you all
Thanks, you too!
That's not a truck. It's a piece of fine art right there. Good job S2S👍👍
Pros to the maximum!
Thank you!
Great job guys 💪 watched all the c10 build , inspires me to get mine done 👌keep at it
It means a ton to us hearing that! Hope your project doesn't give you too many headaches!
Damn nice work! Dime Bag is an engineering master piece!
Awesome!
KIck ass! love this build!
Thank you so much!
Wow... that lift door is amazing! And the paint is incredible! I love that you did the panel behind the tailgate white to match the two tone. Killer job, killer work, thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Holy crap..what a ton of work..Great job! The cost just keeps going up. You should add some led lights under the lid!
We got some strip lights back there to light up underneath the hatch!
Absolutely awesome build. It's the "Details" that make any build unique. The bed is a FN piece of art. Whole truck is a "head turner". I wish I still had my 75 C-10 and the $$$ to have it done by a talented shop like yours.
Super trick, congrats on that killer build!
Thank you! We really appreciate the support!
@@SalvagetoSavagewe appreciate the content for consumption and fuel for our curiosity!
Glad to see it done, I already have the shirt!
That's awesome! Where are you at? Maybe we'll be hitting a show your way sometime soon!

Looks phenomenal! Great work guys!!! Enjoyed the longer video this morning.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome
Once again, as always, fantastic build, attention to detail and over all quality above and beyond.👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
Wow, thank you! We really appreciate the support!
@@SalvagetoSavage I came across your channel when Cha-Ching was featured in a Haltec video. You guys do not disappoint. ✌🏽&❤️ all the way from South Africa🇿🇦
amazing wow
Thank you! Cheers!
Very clean. Professional to the tiniest detail
Nice work S2S!
Thanks!
Next time you get into a jam like that on your bead roller, try flipping the dies. That tip has kept me from scrapping a few panels.
Thanks for the heads up!
THAT was an awesome build!! I'm just glad we get to see at the one last time when you hand it over to Dave. I can't imagine what the price tag on this custom job is... I don't think I even want to know. I bet he's going to be very happy with it. Now... on to that Lincoln with the suicide doors... right?
Yes! We've been putting out some episodes on it already. But next week we're doing some more fabrication on the trunk area, then moving onto setting up our custom interior!
That’s a tight bung hole. I can’t believe you fit your hardware in it
That combination of words should be illegal lol
Sweeeet!
top de mais!!!
Gotta put some lights in there too…
We already got some lights down there!
Roll the bead roll B-roll. 😂
That is going to be the new phrase every time we gotta roll some metal now! lol
If is acrylic that be dope.. see true
Acrylic is cool but it would get scratched and scuffed up from the bottom really quickly!
The truck is looking great especially the door!!! Just wondering where all your crew is? Great video keep it going.....
Working on other projects around the shop
👍🤙
👍👍👍
огонь!
💪👊👏
Only 99/100? C’mon Mikey lift your game 😂
Primo estas hecho un mostró con esos vehículos. Como esta Joy Tu Papa. Dales mis saludos.
5 weeks? 🤯
Awesome build guys! 🤙 Any chance you could let me know what colour/code that blue paint is?
Great build, guys!! Does Chuck C have a webstore?
Not sure about a website, but you can look him up on instagram (@chucksee)
How do you stop the rust forming between the the perforated steel and the frame?
Everything ends up painted, or at least clear coated
Another child leaving the nest. 🥲
Sad to see em go, but it's nice knowing the owner is going to love it too!
Where you source the custom car emblems?
Check out CustomCarEmblems on IG! He's who made all of them for us!
Where can I get a set of those actuators?
Look up Chucksee on instagram!
Does Chuck C have a website?
You can find him on instagram! (@chucksee)
can you stand on that door?
Yeah, it would be fine to stand on
That’s why I bought the 36” throat never know when you need that extra room. Also really kills me when you guys use angle iron on higher end builds, it takes 2 min to shear, round the corners and bend a proper piece of steel your not garage building use your tools don’t be lazy lol
Nice work
Thanks!!
