You can do more videos - topics such as fixing up the house one project at a time, explaining in detail what you are doing and why. I follow a few couples and families on you tube and they are using this platform for income. You have such a lovely way of explaining things and a terrific place with design possibilities. You can even take us shopping , you can take us on exploration trips of Latvia, its cities, its countryside., You can expand your filmmaking skills and storytelling while generating income through the CZcams platform. I always watch your videos and always hit the like button.

I have two Horses and there were many insects until I started putting Bird feeders up. Since the Birds have made this 4 acres their home, there are over a hundred Birds that stay here and they eat the bugs. We are not bothered by any bugs at all and we live in Alabama.

We seem to have a lot of birds here but I guess even they can't fight of all the bugs here. I guess we will just have to get used to them somehow 🤷‍♂️😅

Very Interesting video. I was thinking it would be great if you can get your drone out and do an drone video of your property there so we can see the area a bit. Would be nice to see.

After three summers in Latvian countryside I don't get the itchy spots from the mosquitoes anymore! They are still quite annoying though.

Hi and thanks for watching! That's great news so we only have 2 and a half summers to go and maybe we will also get used to them 😅

I think I would choose to live on a countryside homestead because of that way of life maybe fulfilling for me. With all the efficiencies of large farms, the small farmers do not stand a chance to make tons of money, unless you have a boutique farm and one or two small Air B&B units and invite other city folks who want to get away from the city too. As for Internet, you can get a Starlink (600 dollars upfront cost plus 100-120 dollars/month). I would live in the city because I may find that way of life a fulfilling experience. At different stages of our lives we want different things from our lives, so it all depends. So, don't get discouraged, find out what makes you really happy and exercise those options. Maybe you can share resources like cars, farm equipments, even Internet bandwidth with your neighbours who have the same needs. Use the spray on foams to cover the gaps in your buildings to keep the bugs ad snakes out. It is going to take time and financial resources to make your new home feel real homey. As a farmer you will never be without chores.

Thanks for watching and your input 👍 you made a lot of good points. We don't necessarily need to get rich in the countryside. For us it would be enough just to have enough money to life a simple and healthy life. I agree it will take us a lot of time and money to fix this place up, but it's a great feeling knowing that the resources we put in this homestead always stay with us 😊 👍

For ants use salt or neopitroid ( we have here in Croatia so you should have in Latvia ) For rats or mice ummm get cats lol. 👍🏻

Hey dude 😎 thanks for the advice! We will try salt and check if we can find neopitroid as I haven't heard of it before. Yeah probably cats would be the most effective 😅

The house own you not otherwize - You spent 80 % of your free hours to prepare things and go shopping. Your car only costs 600 per month. Living in a city saves time and money. Nevertheless - be happy in your paradise.
