Can we take a moment to appreciate how Hyundai/Kia listened to the criticism and actively work to improve.
That is a great quality that they have!
I just got my 2019 Hyundai Elantra less then 24 hours ago! I’m so excited my new baby is beautiful 🙏🏾☺️❤️
Congrats! I hope your Elantra gives you plenty of smiles per miles! What color did you get?
I Totally Agree, I Just Brought 1 Also This Same Exact Color With Sunroof, Love My Baby To ♥️
I just bought one a week ago. Same color. Less than 5000 miles, spent less than 20G, love the car. Plus, love the professional tinted window...of course, I had to go to the #1 car tinting dealer of Southern Tennessee..Parking tinting in Murfreesboro...represent..lol
I just bought mine today should be getting it over the weekend. So excited
Raiti's Rides ok I’m just seeing this thank you and i got white! This car is the best!
in 2019 EVERY car maker has stepped up their game! the brand new 20k market is filled with amazing deals!
I totally agree with you! It is great to have a variety and choices!
@S. D. H. I just bought my wife a 2017 elantra limited ultimate for 21k brand new (unsold loaded model). After much research it was the best choice considering it's got port injection and a 6 speed auto with a 10 year warranty and 37 mpg hwy. It has all the tech features too which I wanted her to experience. Auto braking, lane keep assist, etc etc
Man, I have rented this one and I can see why they sell so well, so many features, fuel economy is a plus. Funny that the side vents are functional when on some performance more expensive cars aren't. Great economy car, great video Joe
Thank you for giving some input based off of you personal experience! I really appreciate your dedication!
I Just Brought This 2k19 Elantra In This Same Exact Color, Sunroof Top....Drives Great, Very Stylish! I Love It ♥️♥️♥️
Also Great Video ✨ Love How You Describes This Car, Thanks For The Honesty ‼️
Thanks Roxanne and congrats on your new Elantra!
Yes, it is the best car and a great deal. My husband bought the new hyundai elantra facelift in april and he is sooo satified. We love it!!
Curious, did you finance and at what ckst and rate. A family member will be buying want to be clear she gets a good deal
It is not a bad looking car. Thank you for the detailed review Raiti's Rides.
Yeah it is alright! It gives people options.
Just bought a 2017 value edition Elantra :)
Luv your take on this New 2019 Elantra which I really like a lot!...Exterior very clean & modern...Interior with refreshed instrument panel I really like as well, upgraded HVAC controls very nice!!!!!...To me Hyundai's designs are very modern & premium throughout their line-up!...But I do own a 2016 Sonata so I'm a bit biased but I just like the Hyundai product overall!
Thank you for the compliment and for sharing your thoughts! I appreciate you sharing your input and perspective! Thank you for watching!
Hyundai has come a long way, but for a limited it’s lacking a few features that other brands have, but overall not a bad entry level car. Nice review as usual. 👍👍
Thank you sir for always posting great comments!
Just bought a 2020 limited. I am very happy with the car. Your review is very detailed. Thank you.
Congrats! I really appreciate you saying that!
I think Hyundai does something Ford , Chevy and Chrysler forgot how to do. Make decent reliable cars the average person can easily afford. Not a huge fan myself but I know a lot of people who own and are very happy with them. I do have to admit the new Veloster N looks like a fun car!
I totally agree with you! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
I just bought one. I bought the SEL model. I actually love this car. It handles pretty well in the snow and I think it looks pretty sharp. I’ve got 500 miles on it right now so we will see what happens.
@@justinjj8767 change your oil regularly and keep up with every maintenance item in the manual so they have no excuses when you have to have to have warranty work done. Give it 10 or 20 thousand miles and it will start to make really bad noises with a cold start. I posted my experience above.
hunter1701d already planned on it. I have to have records of everything so it keeps its certified pre owned status and will allow me more on a trade in. I allow warm up time in the winter so I’m not revving a cold engine, and it’s parked in an insulated garage. I couldn’t find your experience, could you copy and paste here?
I think it’s a nice looking engine, and I like the simplicity of the hood prop instead of the shocks that may one day wear out. Wish it had more power though.
I totally agree with you! The Sport will be coming to dealerships soon.
Take last year’s front bumper and this year’s taillights for a winning combo
I think you just hit the nail on the head!
I like the digital AC display! its what differentiates the 2018 and 2019 interior. great review thanks!
I totally agree with you!
Excel was the predecessor to the Accent not the Elantra, but I see your general point about the quality improvement. But the Excel was at least better than the Pony. Problem with sunroofs on certain models is that they bundle in other things you might want. For those of us who will never want a sunroof it sends us to lower trims. I drove behind the 2019 today, the change in look is noticeable. I'm more concerned with ride quality and reliability than all the style points pro or con. I usually don't care much about plastic except the fact that I like to rest my arm on the windowsill area a lot. I've seen other reviewers mention this. But I think the value here is very good overall.
Good review as always.
Thank you Ronald for the extra info and very good points! Thanks you so much for watching!
I agree that the 2018 looks better but I actually really like this car, (only the limited). I’m considering trading my 2013 Elantra in for this.
Thanks for sharing your input and perspective! I really appreciate you watching!
Did you trade in? How much did they give you for your 2013 elantra?
I've got the 2017 Hyundai Elantra LTD & I DO LOVE IT..!!! I DO LIKE MY GAUGES AND DONT KNOW WHY THEY WERE CHANGED......
I love my new Value Edition , but I miss the adaptive cruise control. Great car!
My very first Hyundai sedan! Nice job Joe.
Are you suggest me to buy it?
Is it reliable?
Get a lot for your money these days buddy.Great video Joe! 😍
This is so very true! It's also good to have options!
I love to watch your reviews . i dig it and I love when you sank it then i dig it :)) great review and great compact sedan us car makers felt behind i dig it :))
Thanks Michal for your awesome support!
Raiti's Rides my Father lived by you in Springhill unfortunately he passed away from cancer .
I am so sorry to hear that Michal!
Hopefully you’ll be able to review a Genesis G70 in the near future and show what Hyundai is really capable of.
You must be a mind reader! We did a review the same day fo a G70! Stay tuned!
I’ve been waiting for that one myself.
Joe I'd like to see that review too. G70 is supposed to be a real contender.
G70 is not a Hyudai, you moron... It's a different brand! Do you call LF-A a Toyota?? We call it Lexus. Same concept. DO NOT include G70 as a Hyundai brand. G70 is GENESIS brand!!!!!!
Estrading Co Genesis is 100% owned by hyundai and are manufactured by them so yes it is their brand.
I Love your reviews
This is the car (2019) I have with the ultimate package for about 15 months now. Now seeing the kia forte GT with g2 package. Is it worth trading in?
I hope you traded in for a Toyota by now. lol
Thanks cool review man, they f it up on the front end of the car
No problem! It definetly sticks out now!
You are working hard. Thanks for the helpful presentation.
I really appreciate you saying that!
Any possibility you'll be doing a review of the 2019 Elantra Sport (preferably with the Premium option)?
Actually it will be happening next week so please stay tuned!
@@RaitisRides thanks for the response! I'm new to your channel and absolutely love your reviews. Best I've seen! Waiting on the 2019 Elantra Sport review (hopefully with the Premium option). Your review will probably make my decision to buy.
the Elantra 2019 is coming to Singapore
but in a form of a taxi prob 🤦🏼♂️
it kinda a popular model as a taxi since the diesel variant is way cheaper to buy in bulk to replace a huge fleet of old diesel taxi
That is an intersting fact! Thank you for sharing!
I like it when auto makers put their name or emblem on engine
Yes sir!
I saw the 2019 version couple days ago presents good looks more substantial
You are so correct!
yes to the exhaust tips
Would you get a Elantra SEL or the civic LE?
Joe, how is it getting in and out of the cockpit....Corolla has an issue with that.
You should review the infinity q60 red sport 400. Bad ass car also a great one
I will get those together! Stay tuned!
Nice looking car and unique!
I am so glad that you liked this one and that I could share it with you!
I bought new elantra in 2018 partly for its design and warranty. It just appealed to me more than other cheap cars. However,I wouldn't go with this years elantra.I hope they redesign for 2020 car.
Thank you so much for sharing you input and perspective! I really appreciate you watching!
Seriously thinking about financing one of these
That why I always stay with hyundai
Thanks for sharing your input and perspective! I really appreciate you watching!
I bought the same car/color, model and year a few weeks ago. Less than 5g miles and paid less that 19g..sweet............gotta love Carmax. Great informative video Ratti's Rides. I drive in the Smart mode. Love the wheels. I watched the videos at least 3x before purchasing. Your positive and negative reviews about the vehicle was very helpful. Backseat information didn't really apply to me. I'm the only one driving the car. My gf rides in the front. I have no additional passengers. My bro at work drove and I sat in the back just in case additional passengers I need to transport. It was a great ride. @UCILN_EvJ2ocZ5MW7168oQLg, there are several of my friends that are looking for a new vehicle and I sent them the link. If you are ever in Nashville, look me up....Drinks on me :)
That engine is not direct injected. You also refer to the "base engine" as being a turbo charged unit which is incorrect. The 2.0 *is* the base engine.
I have a 17 Value Edition and it has a sunroof and a sliding door where the ports are. Also like the top of the trunk's lid because it looks nice now and isn't going to turn into a rusting eyesore later on like with a traditional spoiler. Would have been nice if they kept the Electric Blue, but now the nicer blue is reserved for the Sonata and only give the Lakeside Blue like back with the 2017 Sonata.
I like the red paint.
Thanks for letting me share this one with you!
I liked the old grill better ... Headlights too angled but other than that it's a good value
AGREED!
Don’t subscribe to many channels just about 3 and you will be my 4th love all the things you cover. 👍🏽
Thanks Jose! That really means a lot!
Great review, but it's funny how you always seem to pick up a silent (but deadly?) hitchhiker on all your test drives.
You should never downgrade a car for not having a sun roof. Over the past forty plus years, I've had several cars with a sunroof. Never opened any of them even once (no matter the climate of the area I lived in at the time), so when I buy a new car, I always choose a model without a sunroof. If I'm never going to use it, why pay for it? If I wanted to tan my face while driving, I'd buy a convertible. I've noticed that most of the people I know with sun roof equipped vehicles never use them either.I like the look of that Elantra. It wouldn't take much to make that a great little car and a class leader.
Thanks Hans for taking the time to watch and comment! What you said about the silent hitchhiker was hilarious! You make a very good point about the sunroof!
Actually i think sunroofs are for smokers. Smoke goes straight up and you can ash it out the sunroof with your right hand.....
@@dazzfreezee3976 I think the younger you are the more use it gets. Most of my cars have had sun roofs. I've found the older I've gotten the less I use them. Lol
So what would y’all recommend a Camry or this ?
Camry
I love my 2018 Hyundai Elantra Value Edition better. Not digging the front end on this model. What were they thinking?
I totally fee your pain!
I'm late to the party repping that 2017 value edition electric blue (like the one in the background). So much better looking. HAVE YOU SEEN THE 21s? Yuck. They need to build off the 2017-18.
I’d rather have a cvt and a manual option for this segment. I don’t like cvt’s, I don’t like automatics. But automatics are not always more reliable than cvt’s unless it’s a Japanese car (except mitsubishi) (Evo still cancelled soz) but automatics are less efficient than cvt’s and for this segment to save gas you need a cvt. For example, my dads friend Ford Focus had the tranny went out in 21k miles and he didn’t push the car to its limits.so the cvt are not always bad. Would I buy a new car? No.
Thank you for your input and perspective! I really appreciate you watching!
How match this car please
C'mon people this is practicality and basic transportation, This is not a lexus
Excellent point Cody!
There was a lot of criticism about this refresh, but now that I see more on the road I think it looks better and sharper than the 2018.
Hyundai has come along way
AGREED!
I love my 2014 because it has a lot of flow in fluidic design and huge flowing lights, I don’t really care for the triangle lights
You are not alone in that thought!
Looks nice 👍
I am so glad that you liked this one!
Only down side is radio 5’ on the se the competition like forte have a 7’ on every trim level
AGREED!
I have to have this things
The front looks like a vw Passat or 2010 focus.
I appreciate you sharing your input and perspective! Thank you for watching!
Yeah, they should get at least a USB & 12 VOLT OUTLET IN THE REAR CONSOLE.
the Elantra goes to the Arabic Golf states in the middle east comes with sunroof and rear air conditioning vents
Thanks for sharing your input and perspective! I appreciate you watching!
what side are you from?
I am from Florida, but originally from Brooklyn, NY.
The infotainment screen is 8” I believe. If it has the Infinity system, it’s an 8”. And since it is a limited, it should be standard.
FYI, I have a 2018 Sport DCT and I work for a Hyundai dealer.
Thanks for that input Alex I really appreciate it! You got the better Elantra Sport!
Raiti's Rides I did! I purchased my 2018 in October 2017 and have had it ever since. In an ironic twist of events; I went from a customer to (currently) an employee.
I now have 25k on my ES and love my car more and more every day. It has been extremely reliable with (so far) zero issues. Although for some reason it is an accident magnet; having been struck (not even joking) a full 4 times in the 17 months I’ve owned it.
And ALL while being parked!!!! 🤷🏻♂️
OMG! I guess people must be checking it out!
what type of six speed automatic transmission is elantra 2019? it’s not cvt or dct. any idea? if they put a aishin transmission on it? i got elantra sel 2019 and runs so smooth.
How does Hyundai do IT?
That is a very good question!
They got everything wrong from this generation correct in the new gen. Love both interior and exterior design on the 23 Elantra.
I own a 2017 Elantra. They have a 2.0 Atkinson cycle variant of the Nu engine. I would stay away. Mine, and according to many reports the dealer told me they get, is they make a loud ticking/tapping noise when cold. It sounds like a diesel. Dealer reported Hyundai said it was normal because the metal shrinks in cold weather. I have never ever had a car do this in cold weather and I have had my fair share of bombs. I bought it used so am only covered up to 60000 miles. I said to Hyundai ok if this is so normal cover my car to the full 10 year 100000 mile warranty. They just keep giving me the run around. I mean if there is no issue with the car it would not cost them anything to give the full powertrain warranty. I have no confidence in the longevity of this engine and unfortunately it looks like they are putting these in more models like the Kona. Also I think these engines are in the Kia Forte and other Kia models.
Thanks for your input and perspective! I appreciate you watching!
Will eventually need a new short block as the common problem is piston knock on 2.0 engine.
@@markkunzman9095 yeah i am anticipating some kind of work being needed. I will be keeping on top of maintenance and keeping the documentation. Stay away from Hyundai.
I just bought one today...
The only 2 major flaws are the headlights & lack of hp, the 2018 front end looked way way better
I totally agree with you! I love the 2018, especially the Elantra Sport!
@Happy Robins Great minds!
TOTAL AGREE!! hyundai just kill it!!!
When you stop at traffics put the gear shifter into N.
Why?
@@RaitisRides Because it damages the gear.
6 speed automatic with a 2.0L NA engine, this should last 25 years
Beautiful car .If only they would come with independent rear suspension . My only dislike .
VERY good point!
My Sport Model Elantra does have the independent rear suspension. Its only available on the sport trim.
Where is your blue towel?
There were cooler temps this day. You will see the return very soon as the spring and summer comes here in Florida! Thanks for watching!
The design of the headlights are dated. Needs a refresh quick now. Previous design way better.
Oh I totally agree with!
i bought one i love it. Its such a thrill to drive and im getting way more miles on a tank of gas than any other car ive driven. such a tight smooth ride. I also have a 2018 chevy trax i prefer my hyundai to that. Dont let the 147 hp fool you its zippy as hell
Thank you so much for sharing that!
@@RaitisRides my pleasure!
I love my 18 body style better.
I totally agree with you Michael!
They put all the money in the programmers for the info screen...lol
It looks nice! ;-)
That screen is one of the nicest I’ve seen. My girlfriend has a 2017 Impala, her screen is very pixelated and the images are grainy. Her back up camera is the same. I can make out people’s faces in my camera so I’m loving it.
Very nice car.
Nice car
Thanks for letting me share it with you!
Not direct injection. Thank goodness. No valve issues to deal with. My 17 has been great, 46.000 miles and absolutely 0 issues. I like the styling of mine much better. I'm very pleased with it. Also. It's much quicker running premium fuel. Reason is, it's a high compression engine. Running regular. The knock sensor adjust timing back to prevent pinging. Running premium, it doesn't ping, so timing stays advanced, making car noticeably faster. With the good mileage this car gets, it's not a big deal to run premium.
Thank you so much for sharing info from your experience!
I just bought my wife a 2017 limited ultimate new (old stock). We love it so far. Great to hear about the octane making a difference in timing control. Makes sense.
@@tabbott429 CONGRATULATIONS. Enjoy. Mine Turned 47.000 miles today! 0 issues.
Old design looks way better
I totally agree with you!
Dang this one don’t have a sunroof tho
Nice car. NOT direct injection which is a good thing. It's port injection.
That is very true! Thanks for watching!
Not a fan of the boring Elantra driving Dynamics...it should drive like a lancer in my opinion
I hope they eventually have an Elantra N!
I agree if it had a little more aggressiveness to it that would be great. You can always look into the Elantra GT N line. I'm looking into it now since here in NJ we just got them.
@@dunny1977jd That is so very true!

They could have done real functional fog lights instead of dedicated turn signals lamps in the front bumper...😒 and include the switchback blinking feature in those DRL's...😧
How a design can get worse, this was unlikely from a company like Hyundai.
I appreciate you sharing your input and perspective! Thank you for watching!
People talk about resale value of used Korean cars like crap bucket. Truth is Japanese and European used cars don't sell but used Korean car does. That simply tells you Korean cars are priced right but rest are over priced. Recent Korean cars hold their value just as good as any.
You guys, This is a Elantriangle
I like that!
nice car
I am so glad that you like this one!
The S on super man's chest tell you he has super powers...The H on the grill of a car says...Hell No....I have no resale value and makes me look poor and or cheap...lol......
I was wondering when your super creative replies were going to make a return!
William M Trexler I am poor I suppose and insanely cheap 😂. So far I’m liking the car though.
It's port injection, not direct injection. This is very important due to no carbon build-up. I refuse to buy direct injection.
I appreciate you sharing your input and perspective! Thank you for watching!
Funny how dealers don't even know what engines their cars have. I just bought a 2017 limited brand new off showroom floor for huge discount (old stock) and the salesman didn't have a clue what this car had.
Direct injection blows the doors off...
I'm sorry, I hate the refresh. It looks, inside and out, like it was designed by a fourth-grader in detention.
The Kia Forte is much better, inside and out, with more features for the same money.
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on this one! I appreciate you watching!
Earlier design was good
AGREED!
I feel like a lot of the updates they made, especially on the interior, are too gimmicky. The fake carbon fiber stuff on the dash and the checked flag pattern in the gauges. Really, Hyundai? I'm really glad I opted for the 2018. The 2019 is a bit gaudy for my taste.
You did well by getting a 2018! Thanks for watching!
Damn carbon fiber?
They screwed up with 2019 redesign.
I feel they went backwards as well.
NOT Direct Injected
Gah. The headlights are the worst part of the front end. 🤮
I appreciate you sharing your input and perspective! Thank you for watching!
The head light are hideous. Looks like deformed Doritos

Funny to listen to the glorified Elantra history while reading the hyundai/kia recalling it and other models for engine fires.
