  • The origins of yoga can be traced back to South Asia, a space colonized by the British and Portuguese. Beyond its utility, yoga became popular, in part, because it reinforced European and Euro-American ideas of India. Learn about how you can decolonize your yoga practice at this workshop.

Iman, this top looks so amazing on you! I am from canada and I am really pleased to discover your foundation. I enjoyed your talk... I'm trying to be a better westerner for all indigenous people and their cultural practices that we have included in our societies. Thank you :)

there is always a possibilities of what you have shown here and its okay....if yoga is not making these idiot to conduct themselves this means they are not doing yoga at all. Though what you are talking about is necessary when yoga comes yes white women comes first in mind......excess commodification and commercialization of yoga is happening...these idiots are not aware of hindu sensitivities of hindu symbols and deities they just want to use these the way they want.... But there are also things thats helping yoga india and its culture. People learning sanskrit ayurveda indian texts like gita yoga sutras ramayana mahabharata in some ways...this is our soft power in a way.
