I’ll get you banned from CZcams for making fun and mocking Andy instead of accepting his quotes of a video especially when his channel is continuing to grow.

Lou Williams should've negotiated a no trade clause.
He probably felt like he was on that level of trust with ownership, a noble idea, but to owners and some gms, players are nothing but cards to trade
How he trusted after they traded Blake Griffin 🙃
Yes Lou should of had a no trade clause. Steve Ballmer is not to be trusted. He is a billionaire for a reason. Even at my job...management offered me a "verbal" senior position. I said I need it in writing with HR viewed and signed. It never happened lol
@@LaughingJokerProd Trey are trying to win a championship, lou didnt work in that team, teams try to win. There is nothing wronv
Lou Williams was never close to good enough to negotiate a no trade.
suns gave brandon knight a better contract than IT? yea suns fans yall REALLY deserve this playoff run yall been thru so damn much 💀
Brandon Knight was playing a level above IT at the time
He was playing a lot better than IT at the time, and was a starter. Remember, hindsight is always 20/20
yall yall yall, you think u slick just because you use "yall" like a damn twitter woke spokesperson
Lord Hisashi damn i didnt think anybody was gonna get mad over using a contraction of you and all but here we are 💀 you snowflakes soft man, you think you smarter than people for not using a certain word but u just end up lookin like an ignorant weirdo 😂😂

Yeah well you're thinking with your wallet. That is the NBA where arguably the world's best 450 basketball players are so the stage itself is already a lot higher. Then we're talking about the top of the crop amongst those 450.
I remember a quote from Lou saying that he was tired of seeing his son confused on what team he was playing on
Well, he already created more confusing things, such as having two girl friends and they are ok with it.
6 man like Lou will, 2 girls and they get along

Been a believer of I.T. since his Sacramento days. 💔
czcams.com/video/m5L4ItOR8QM/video.html
Lakers fan. IT would torch us whenever we played Sacramento when he was there. We'd win the game most of the time but IT would always get his. Just couldn't defend the guy. Wasn't surprised to see him get better and more dangerous as time went on.
@@ktvindicare too bad Sacramento being Sacramento. They let go of promising young players like I.T. to help Boogie and eventually they blew it.

this aint 2013 anymore lol get over it, he gives up more points on defense lol, He cant guard a fire hydrant
Please do a “How Good was Mike Miller actually” video Andy ? He was so good and so many people are asking for it too

Man i feel bad for thomas. He played like an mvp with a small contract but got injured and teams didnt want to risk the money for an injured player and he missed out on a max contract. In years to come we would be talking about isaiah thomas as a hero that anything is possible despite being the last pick
Owners were smart not to pay Him
@@mettagoode7276 Sad but true
@@mettagoode7276 To be fair it wasn't exactly "smart". They just did the obvious thing and it was right. If they did something that few think of and it turned out then that's smart. Not paying an extremely undersize player with injury is extremely obvious.

I wanna hear that KG lockout story
Jordan hit them up his last years in Chicago though, he got his 💰.
Hey Andy! 👋
It would be very interesting to see a video or two on some of the lockout seasons of the past! I don't think I'm the only one who's attention was grabbed when you mentioned KG & the lockout 🤔
People when an nba team cuts a player with a good heart and mindset that carries the team atmosphere: “it’s a business you can’t get and at the team for that, the players knew what they were signing up for”
People when an nba player sits out until the get a fair deal or request a trade: “that’s so immature how could they do that to their team”
Yea I hate that shit
That depends if the player is important to the team.
There’s a huge difference in those 2 things in one case you signed a contract no one made you sign it you chose to sign that where as the company/team did not put a no trade clause meaning it’s part of the contract that you can be traded at any time
Beta framing.
"Good heart and mindset" =/= production
on god Scottie pippen got finessed
czcams.com/video/m5L4ItOR8QM/video.html
The fact him and Jordan signed smaller contracts is the reason they have won 6 championships.
He was told not to sign it because it was frontloaded but, he wanted the security and they made him honor his contract
Probably why he so bitter sometimes lol
Adjusting for inflation, it was still a hell of lot of money back then and his whole family was poor. I can understand wanting guaranteed security back then.
Lou Williams : "i love this team, i wanna stay here"
the team : "about that...... we need to trade you out and want to win without you"
12:45 please tell the KG story because I never heard about it
His 120 mill contract for a young dude who wasn’t close to his prime. It was looked at in the media as a bad thing.
The TD and Dirk deals back in early 10s, really steal for both teams on their corner stones. Although they demanded those pay cuts to give rooms for team construction on purpose.
Andy couldn't stop saying "short" when talking about Isaiah Thomas. LMAO!!
Hey man. Never been this early to your videos. Love the content.
Magic Johnson, as unfortunate as it was, was kind of lucky he retired when he did. Because he signed a 25-year (!!!) $25 million contract in the early 80s, and had he continued to play into the 90s as the salary cap rose, he would have been completely stuck as he still had probably a whole decade left in his contract and there would have been nothing he could’ve done about it.
Yes he kind of got bailed out with that one them contacts sound good into you get into the taxes n things of it
Pippin also had a knee Injury. One of the reasons they low balled him
Hi Andy! In a future video could you shed some light on the nba '99 lock out you mentioned? Cheers!
My MOST favorite NBA CZcamsr is back. 💯 #UNDERRATED
Great vid! Un-talked about topic!
I’m surprised Steph Currys first contract isn’t on here. He was getting paid like 11 mill per year through their whole title years. Even though he was injury prone he should’ve still tried to get more money .
Steph's contract is understandable. He wasn't a star when he signed. These players in the video were already stars when they signed.
One of the two jerseys I own is a Curry jersey. But he doesn't deserve to be on this list. There was absolutely no clue that he was going to be what he became when he signed his first extension. Honestly we look at at it wrong now. This is one the most amazing stories is modern day sports. But he was still just a really good three point shooter with injury issues when he signed the deal.
This reminds me when i watch the last dance and finally know that pippen got paid so little. I talk abt it with my friends and all of them had the same reaction: "how can you call the contract bad when he have millions, what about teachers and doctors". And i started to see those comments here already. Can't believe after all this years most ppl still can't understand why athletes got the big bucks
czcams.com/video/m5L4ItOR8QM/video.html
Spencer Cornelia made a great video about this
I always shut such people up with one simple point - "There are thousands of can be teachers or doctors, but there are only couple of hundred NBA players"
It's about the money the NBA as an association is making off of these players.
Basically the players are making the business money. So the players deserves (as of right now) 50% of the pie
@@jpowell6418 Nah. The business side needs more. They are liable for lawsuits, do the PR so these players don't look as bad as a lot of them are, and run a billion dollar empire where the average player has a 90pt IQ and diva levels of entitlement.
Salary isn’t about fairness, it’s about leverage.
WORD!
Everytime i hear about that scotty contract i get upset smh

He and mj making the same money nba contract until 1996 season
These videos are great. Quality over quantity yet the quantity is still very solid!! I love this channel
"lou was that guy" I see what u did there lmao
Currys first extension rings a bell. He was underpaid for those prime years but similar to the Bulls of the 90’s, the warriors were able to turn that situation to get Durant.
This channel deserves a million of subscribers
Pippen's was comical for a while. I remember he got his extension, then after the first year of his new contract, younger players like Larry Johnson and Derrick Coleman were signing deals paying them 2-3 times more per year than Pippen. Before the rookie contracts were scaled, Webber and Mashburn angled for more than what Pippen was getting, and got it. So here a top 7 player in the league, and one of the best 2-ways, made less than rookies and inferior younger players.
Jordan should have given pippen at least 500-700 million dollars. For being there to support his career and greatness. The royalties the the jordan brand alone makes a hundred million per year. Pippen gave way for jordan to get more money on contracts. Just so they can play together for a long time.
Should've gave him a shoe deal or something 🤣🤣
Amazing video.
You made it sound like LA was some small town in Vermont 😂
Once again, this video reminds me of how the player empowerment makes sense now.
greedy players like shroeder ruined it. in europe nobody complains
The NFL needs opt out clauses for players.
I thought of the Olajuwon contract dispute immediately when I saw the title. My dad wont stop talking about it before.
I think there is a c
Video about Olajuwon deal, back in 1992
@Darth Chungus video is by SECRET BASE. "Hakeem Olajuwon Beefed so hard with Rockets he almost left year before win ring"
Nothing against John Starks but in 1992 he got his first major contract. He had been a journeyman up until finding his place on the Knicks. At the time he was looked at more as a 3rd guard/spot starter/energy guy but developed into an All-Star.
He was underpaid in 1994 but in 1992 that was a pretty good contract for a player who had bounced around the league for a few seasons.
Could you do a video about who was the highest paid player in the NBA from the start of the NBA to now in the NBA by each year?
I got even more respect for Lou Williams 💪🏾💪🏾💯💯
Yo andy do a video on the lockout for 1999 and 2012 i never really understood it
I’m sure Lou Will is ok with living in Atlanta 👀
There’s not enough people who talk about Scottie’s contract being a major factor in the Bull’s dynasty. Where else can you get a top 50 player of all time and pay him as a role player
uh literally the Heat big 3, Warriors big 3, and Nets big 3 did this. Not as a role player salary per se, but they are severely underpaid for their talent just for them to stick in one team.
Not to mention, the Spurs big 3.
Will u make a video about NBA players who didnt join a team because of their number? Like NBA Ayers who decided not to join an NBA team and stay with their team just because of their number being in use by someone in that time or retired with that time
This video should be titled “players who outperformed their contract”. Other than Lou Williams the rest were basically good contracts with players who took a big leap after.
I’ll get you banned from CZcams for your idea of a title change. You are not allowed to give him any title changes or encouraging him to do so on why. You request is rejected. And you are sentenced to 90 months in jail for encouragement for the people.
MJ outperformed his contract before signing it. lol
tim duncan face in 8:32 mark in the video is relax while rasheed holding him in the arms. lol
As NBA players, one of the best finiancial decision you can make, is when your contract ends, look at IT then look at VanVleet, night and day.
Don't forget about Danny Ferry's 10 year 50 million dollar contract...😆
The myteam goat

Can you do how good was chauncey billups or Allen iverson or kawhi or carmelo
I think he already did the Billups and Melo ones
Bring back the lists, Andy!
Next Vid Suggestion:
What Actions KG Took To Have Them Make The 1999 Season A Lockout Year?
Hindsight is 2020 if Isaiah doesn't sign the 4 year 27 million dollar contract he doesn't get traded to the Boston Celtics he doesn't average 27 or 29 points again and he's never even considered for a max contract. At the end of the day Isaiah Thomas was a 5'9 point guard in the league of giants his height would always have regulated him to a maximum of two years
I’m in the same app! I love that app!
Besides his contract, Michael Jordan also got some royalties as well, in 1984 he signed a five-year deal with Nike worth $500,000 per year which lead up to $3.14 billion in the fiscal year ended in 2019.
you should do a video about the 1999 lockout.
Lockout because of KG? Sounds like that should be your next video :P
i really like that 1-yr contract Lebron is doing..it could help avoid this overpaid or underpaid contract...thats what i think
also, the line "we dont give BILLIONAIRE'S DISCOUNTS" cant remember where i heard this
We all know Bron did it so he could change teams after a year if he wants to.
2:35 you meant to say they are "content" not "contempt" the first means comfortable the second means to feel like you're above doing something or better than
I think Pippen and Jordan both benefitted from having better teammates around them. Likewise, the Warriors dynasty was a direct result of Stephen Curry making below market value which allowed them to have a better roster around him.
If you add the small money but long contracts + the 2000's inflation, these older players really don't have that much in the bank if they lived extravagantly. Thank goodness for endorsements.
For the record, Detroit Fans were NOT pissed when Ben Wallace left to join the bulls for that huge contract. He was such a great player for the Pistons, we were all happy that he was finally getting paid for his great play. Nothing but love for big ben.
I did not expect the last one
bro you now have to do a video on the lockout
Can you make a video about the 1999 lock out?
And the 2011 lockout season.
Yeah andy im from chicago and people were sooo excited to get big ben but the bulls had 0 scoring in 06 besides nen gordon but they tried pushing wallace into a scorer which he was NOT...lol
That's why having a great agent is also important in NBA.
Remember when Lou made the same exact play three times in a row? 2:36
If you didn't, please make a video about the 1999 lockout and why it happened... especially why Kevin Garnett was the center point of it
It’s aight with Jordan, he’s a damn billionaire now so it doesn’t matter to him now 🤷♂️🤣
Them damn shoes man. Imagine if he never would’ve went to that Nike meeting like his momma told him to…
He made money off all his endorsements so he wasn't worried about his basketball money
An Andre Miller video would be good!
Andy hoops video on a Tuesday LETS GOOOOOOOOO 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
What is the background music he always plays?
Lots of these could have been improved with a few clauses, like an opt-out for IT or a no-trade for Lou Will.
Honestly, nothing wrong with taking a low offer to play where you want. The team SHOULD reward that loyalty, if only to build a player-friendly image to attract free agents, but that's not necessary either, Lou simply should have negotiated a no-trade clause to stay.
Wtf I watched the video you made on this topic earlier before this one released
I think some players, that weren't established, would accept less cash for more years to stay with a club that believes in them. It's better then now. Players sign a 1 or 2 year contract, then the player leaves for greener pastures making teams championship window very small.
Stephen Curry had to sign his 10 million dollar a year contract after his injuries
And… when was this? Because if it was in 2012 it was understandable because nobody really knew he was gonna be this good and if it was in 2017 or later your just lying
@@ProdByND signed before the 2013-14 season

ANDY HOOPS BINGE
5:40 "Worse numbers" is misleading because Knight was at least an average defender; Thomas was very below average on D.
Durk took a low pay to get some help on the off season
This why I hate when players of any sport take team friendly deals. If you're lucky you'll have a ten plus year career, you gotta maximize all your earnings. These teams will cut you in a second to save money.
I don't know why, but most front offices in the NBA value potential so much that they overlook some of the best players out there. Potential sure can pay back so well but a good player should be valued more than a mere prospect.
Dennis Schröder would be in this if they made a new video for this today lol
What about Tim Duncan?? Wasn't he known to get paid wayy less than actually worth?
czcams.com/video/m5L4ItOR8QM/video.html
I met Scottie Pippen in 2019. He was a nice guy but seemed like a sad person.
Damn. I keep forgetting how dirty the Clippers did Lou Will. That dude gave them everything ans brought a hard nosed identity for that team after the Lob City days. Just shows that this will first and forever be a business over anything else
The reason why they'll forever be cursed not to win a ring. Tbh, It being a business is just an excuse. There will always be humanitarian reasons for everything. Miami Heat let UD stay for them even if he takes a spot in their rotation after all these years. The Clippers org is just your typical greedy company that has a motto of "it's just business and nothing personal" written all over them.
Lou Will should've regret his decision to sign that extension in 2018. He would've been a nice camaredie in free agency.
The Last Dance of course documented that whole Scottie Pippen contract
czcams.com/video/m5L4ItOR8QM/video.html
I still recall that extension from the T-Wolves that LaTrell Sprewell turned down
Imagine Pippen signing a low-balled contract because he wanted financial security while Sprewell turned down a big contract extension because he has a lot of people to feed.
Honestly that Parsons contract still makes me mad because Dallas could have used that cap space to get a big name free agent and possibly win another ring also I make videos as well
