      @Social Media 1 Still salty about that huh? Yes let's all adopt the culture of marrying and having children with our mothers:
      " Zoroastrian religious tracts actively encourage nuclear family incest and extol its meritorious nature and supernatural benefits. "
      www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S016230959600074X
      Also getting away from the Persian nationalism scene, the reason this is even a modern issue is because of Iran's extremism in telling Persians to worship 12 Arabs as opposed to Allah alone. Notice this was never a big issue among Persians (who many were heavy hitter scholars) in over 1,000 years before Shiism (especially under the Ayatollahs) took over.

    The groups calling for Khilafah don't say it will be a utopia.
    Just as a non-Muslim accepting Islam does not guarantee that all his problems will end, yet we give da'wah to them and we highlight the positives and the wisdoms of Allah's religion, because we know it is an obligation.
    Similarly a democratic, capitalist, secular nation-state going through a revolution and establishing the Khilafah does not guarantee that all of its problems will end, yet we give da'wah to the people in the lands and we highlight the positives and wisdoms of social, political and economic systems revealed by Allah, because we know it is an obligation.
    An obligation for Muslims to establish a state that takes none other than Islam as its basis of legislation.

    • @munzirzafar3857
      @munzirzafar3857 Před 3 lety +1

      Suppose the sheikh knows the story of a recent convert who was indulged in sin and his life was a mess. He narrates that story to people and he starts mocking da'wah carriers that they give the picture of a utopia to non-muslims, even though reverts have all these problems.
      How irresponsible will that be!
      This rant about "Khilafah is not a utopia" is equally irresponsible.

If you have transparent or very light yellow colour urine it means you are well hydrated. And keep this colour always.but if you are already hydrated and drinking excess water it will flush out ELECTRODES (ION FLUIDS) from body which is not Good for health.

    What exactly do we know about Ertugrul and the early Ottomans? I've heard that the early ones at least were actually Godly people. I feel that history classes in the Islamic world always talk about al khilafah ar Rashida, then ummayyad, then go up to Harun AR-Rashid, then skip to Al-Ayyubi, then to Yusuf ibn Tashfin in Andalus, the fall of Baghdad, the fall of Granada, Conquest of Constantinople, and then colonialism. I feel Ottoman history gets sidelined too much. Perhaps some more on that. Also, is history only battles? Or did other great and interesting things also happen?

    • @hasininan5501
      @hasininan5501 Před 3 lety +1

      What you have heard about them, even the early ones, is mostly pro-Ottoman propaganda sponsored by Erdogan in the form of lavishly made tv series. This is why you don't hear much about them in proper academic lectures on Islamic history. The so-called 'Dream of Osman' is a myth fabricated long after his death.

    The Torah is a book which has reached the people of the West and the East, and the majority of the learned men know and have memorized it. In such a book it is impossible to insert additions or omissions. And the proof is that if anyone now wants to insert additions or omissions into the Quran, he could not do it: the same goes for the Torah. -Fakhr al-Din al-Razi, Mafatih al-ghayb, vol. 13, 78.

Razi is writing from a time knights are running around and can only go by the little he knows of the text (which even then since we're bringing that up I'll see you and raise you Ibn Hazm who picked the whole narrative apart pre-modern textual criticism). The fact that there are four (Dead Sea Scrolls, Septuagint, Masoretic and Samaritan) is enough to lay that discussion to rest.

    salaam Shaykh, old Al-Maghrib student here...have a question I have been trying to get the answer to for a few years now...
    The Qur'an says that Yahya (AS) should hold firm to the book. This implies, at least to me, that during his era the Torah was preserved and that he was not following a corrupted text. The problem is that we currently have ancient Torahs that came well before Nabi 'Esa (AS) was alive that were found in various caches. Those texts seem to match the modern Torahs, which creates an issue - which Torah was Yahya (AS) told to hold firm to? Was it a corrupt one?
    In researching this, I have learned that the Samaritan Bible had already differed from the Hebrew Bible, which suggests that there was drift in the text - so that's one possible answer -- and in checking out the differences (someone actually did a side-by-side comparison) there appears to be pretty significant changes. Could it be that there was a 3rd variant that we just lost?
    Obviously some aspects of the text we simply cannot take, such as those that say that the prophets committed shirk. How do we respond to this?

    • @STEWJO004
      @STEWJO004 Před 3 lety

      Walakum Salam
      To begin the Hebrew bible is NOT the Torah its basically a 7th-century BCE Jewish fanfiction of the time Musa(as) got the it and there are four versions to just that text alone. If I was guessing man the Torah existed mostly as an oral tradition and the Hebrew Bible was essentially just a quick reminder (as modern Jews admit with things such as the Talmud) Dr. Joel Hoffman (Jewish btw) says in his book "the Bible's cutting room floor"
      “The Bible you usually read is the abridged version. Its contents were culled from a much larger selection of holy scriptures when new realities forced religious leaders to discard some of their most cherished and sacred books, resulting in what we now call the Bible. Some writings were left out for political or theological reasons, others simply because of the physical restrictions of ancient bookmaking technology. At times, the compilers of the Bible skipped information that they assumed everyone knew. Some passages were even omitted by accident. For these reasons and more, your Bible doesn’t give you a complete picture. […]
      In the end, correct answers to the question, How many books are in the Bible? range from thirty-three to seventy-eight. Yet even with seventy-eight books, more material was left out than was included. Additionally, different groups of people order the books of the Bible differently. The modern Jewish order is different from the traditional Jewish order. Christians put the Old Testament books into a third order yet. (For instance, Christians put Daniel near the other famous prophets like Ezekiel and Isaiah, to underscore his centrality. Jews marginalize Daniel by grouping him with the other “writings.”) The Apocrypha, too, appear variously as part of the Old Testament, as an addition to the Old Testament, or-as we just saw-not at all. Underlying all of these differences is the simple fact that there used to be lots of holy writings, and different groups of people compiled different collections of them to form a single book.”

    In these times of confusion, interesting subjects, that will have widespread appeal, and which will eradicate wrong ideas, may include:
    A discussion on the theological basis of establishment of Islamic states (not so-called “Islamic State”, i.e. IS), and the historical discussions on the necessity or otherwise of establishing Islamic polities.
    Scholarly approaches to the nature of “jihad” in our modern world, especially as relevant to us in the West, in view of the perceived perpetuity of this activity

    Please inshallah do more Library chats on each of the main Sunni (including Sufism and its main Tariqahs) & Shia sects of the past that have left a theological impact in to days Muslims.
    Also, please do some talks on the individual Sunni and Shia fiqh madhabs present and most relevant extinct ones. Development, many fiqh usul etc.
    many.
    Lastly, bring the above points full circle by talking about how the main Shia and Sunni fiqh madhabs connect the main Sunni and Shia sub sects. For example, Hanafis and Maturidiyyah or Hanbalis and Athariyyah (Salafiyyah) etc.
    This would give you so many topics, historical and theological, plus some fiqhi points to cover in a series of videos. These videos could all be put together a series inshallah.

    Wslm jzk khair Sh. This was most informative. Teaching a class on the ummayad dynasty currently and this information is highly appreciated by myself and the class. May Allah bless you and your family and keep you in the service of deen ameen.
    As for a suggestion for future talks. As a lover of history I find we are very focused on early Islamic history. Not much focus is given to the last few centuries which helps us to really understand the current world we live in. For example how a small island like England ended up ruling and shaping the modern world and its impact on Muslim lands .
    I always find it very interesting that the start of colonialism coincides with the fall of Al Andalus 1492. If I'm not mistaken Christopher Columbus's letter to Queen Izabella of Spain ( thanking her for the ships which would take him to America) praises her for what she did against the "Moores". He also mentions his intent to continue her work against the "infidels "via his voyages.
    Point being, its very interesting how European power tied their successes to the decline of Muslim power and really paved the way for Europe to dominate the globe. Just a thought
    Jzk khair wslm

    I find these lecture series very thought provoking. Its inspiring us to learn more about the our deen in all aspects in search for the truth as much as possible. Have gone through similar transition on my views on salafism and even had romantic idea of a caliphate solving all our problems during my youth. Its true more knowledge does humble you and really appreciate you sharing with us these important Islamic events so we may get snap insight of how things were back then. Trials of this world did not leave our Prophets family and his companions and it all started with Adam. Such is the brutal truth, jannah is only in jannah but we can strive have peace as much as we can on Earth.
    Next topic idea? Hadith and Sahih books, opposing views expressed from same companion and how they could be understood. Early scholars take. Jzk
