- Today Jenny is taking a look at a cost-effective way to turn your old Hornby ex-Dapol Terriers into a new and interesting addition to your fleet.
If you like the look of these models and fancy some for yourself, you can get them from the Enwin's 3D site at: www.shapeways....
Our sponsor today is Train-O-Matic, who produce the best DCC chips I've used. Visit their site at www.train-o-mat... to see their full range of products! Also available through UK stockist: www.tramfabriek...

Glad to see someone doing this in OO and industrial to boot. Had a few people doing this in N gauge for the old Minitrix Dock Tank loco, glad to see it in the bigger scale!
Excellent idea this! The resulting loco you’ve got looks identical to NCB no9 at summerlee museum.
That's the loco it is intended to be
I like my Terriers too much to do this, but great video, thank you
What a useful, affordable upgrade for these older locomotives! Well done!
Very interesting video Jen a slopping side tank version would be great.
This company never stops pleasing people does it 😂
entwins 3 d leads you to a shape ways site and at 41.99 pound plus postage i think its a bit rich for what it is
I happen to have the red Avonside Cadbury 1101 and I like it because to me it looked toy-like and qauint!
Jennifer, I have been checking out the older terriers for sale and they are still going for over £40, but I agree with your view
I approve of extra space for stay-alives.
It is a shame that these are currently only available in filament printed plastic ("white natural versatile"), although I note from Enwins' Facebook page that they are looking into alternatives.
It’s a great world!! It’s not really the type of locomotive that I would want to have visiting my layout. And by the way, I find that strange little locomotive that you’re testing - or at least displaying - is certainly make an interesting locomotive for someone who likes industrial locomotives rather than passenger trains.
This is Fantastic, it’s nice to know that old locomotive chassis can get a new lease on life.
Also does anybody happen to know of any 3D printed G scale coaches/trucks?
Sandpaper and acetone to get a decent finish?
A few layers of undercoat. Once dry smooth with wet and dry paper. Allow to dry and paint with top coat. Don't use acetone. This is nylon not pla.
