    I bought one new in 2018. I’ve been riding for 36 years now and I can honestly say this is the most perfect bike on the planet for me!! I raced cr500s in motocross and have raced woods since 96. I’m more biased towards dirt and had a tall order for a bike. KTM met that in triplicate. I ride the Hooch every year against guys on 200 lb bikes and I can keep up with them in the tighter stuff and then smoke them in the open!!😁😁 As far as height, I’m 5’9” and it’s tall but if you’re an off-roader, that’s nice! I put my wife on it all the time and we take long trips. Try that on a smaller bike...! It does everything!!

    I have been riding for 50+ years and now ride a 2017 KTM 1090R on fast pavement rides to easy off-road trails, and a 2023 KTM 350 EXC-F for technical and more difficult trails. Like the Van Halen song, having two dedicated bikes gives me the Best of Both Worlds. I would never buy the new KTM 790/890/1290 bikes because of all the complicated electronics; t prefer to ride a motorcycle, not allow a computer to ride it for me. Great video, thanks for sharing.

    Great video guys. Really enjoyed it. You covered of several point about this bike other reviews miss. And I like the way you showed a mortal person riding it and not some Stunt rider. I think KTM and Honda have made two great bike in the last 18 months that are changing the game. But il love the production of this vid. its pretty slick for a Qld crew ;)

    a big chunk of the weight loss, compared to 1190, is simply removing the center stand. there's minimal weight difference between 1190 and 1090

      motograce, with great respect, a centre stand does not weigh 23lbs It weighs 5lbs at very maximum. I noticed a huge difference in weight riding both back to back. 1190 has more low down grunt it is true, but the 1090 has more than enough of that and goes on to be is a much better bike off road for those who know how to use the difference.
      Not saying you don't, just saying.

    I've taken both on demo. You do notice a good deal loss of torque with the 1,050 motor vs. the previous 1,195, regardless of power-to-weight ratio. But better suspension, chassis, and less weight I guess are pluses.

    Great bike, I only have 2 complaints..... 1) engine heat comes up your legs.... 2) when dropped, leverage points are too far apart, I have difficulty lifting it up myself.

    I am probably the only person who prefers the basic instrument layout on this bike to the computer screens like the 1290 has but there it is, I really do. I think I may get one because over here in the UK they are discounting these bikes lower than snake bollocks due to the incoming 790. When you think about it, fantastic though the 790 will undoubtably be, it will only be 15lbs lighter at best with 25 Bhp less power. Kind of makes this big V twin a bit of a tempting bargain does it not?

    Hello sir what is the actual ground clearance of this bike ? Looks like so high ? Is there any seat height adjustment on this bike ? I'm a 5 ft 3 inch guy , so please let me know it

    • @6tdegrees
      @6tdegrees  Před 6 lety

      Aparajit Chakma very tall bike, a person with your stature would struggle especially pulling up to uneven ground. Seat height is 890mm at its lowest

      Good question. But I'm guessing nothing a Powercommander wouldn't solve. Usually excessive heat is a sign of lean fuel conditions for emissions regs.

    KTM seems to have sponsored 99.99% of all CZcams content on their ADV bikes. There’s practically zero content online made by actual owners. That’s so weird!

    • @6tdegrees
      @6tdegrees  Před 5 lety

      Kermit just out of curiosity, what makes you think we are sponsored to do this. Just to clarify, we don’t get paid to make these video reviews nor are the we sponsored by any company.

    • @ThisTall
      @ThisTall Před 5 lety +2

      6Tdegrees just a poor choice of words on my part. I just meant 99% of KTMs reviews are coming from professional ride channels like this. Who are more often then not, given a bike by KTM to review this way.
      I didn’t mean to imply any bias or anything on your part. In fact, the fact that such a majority of KTM review content online being professionally done, just means there’s a ton of extremely well done review on the product. I just bought a used 1090 today and am noticing after months looking up videos online about KTM products, that they seem to be the only brand that has a very small amount of privately made owner content. Just an odd anomaly I’ve noticed compared to other rec vehicle content online. Keep up the good work.
