    Ukrainians emigrated to Canada for a better life and suffered through some of the hardest times with poverty and sickness and battling weather related crop failures. They endured and now represent a major community throughout the Western Provinces of Canada. Canadians thank them , their culture and for enriching our great nation. Ukrainians deserve a lot of respect.

They were given lands illegally stolen from natives who tilled those lands for centuries. We value the contributions Ukranians made in Canada, but please dont lie about it

    I am struggling to understand that European countries, Other independent countries, and US can send arms and equipment without worrying what Russia thinks about it, Yet aeroplanes seems to be an issue when this is exactly what Ukraine needs. As Much as I hate war, I hate warmongers 1000% more, and we (Democratic and civilized Humans) should not let fear drive our decisions. A man like Putin only respects Strength and power, and we should not be afraid to show it. Putin has proven that his Military is badly organized and actually rather weak, and we should capitalize on that by sending the much-needed fighter jets to Ukraine. They are currently acting as the front line defence to the rest of Europe or at the very least other Russian neighbouring countries, some part of NATO, some not but part of EU. We should do everything in our power not to allow Putin to take over Ukraine.

    • @blueredbrick
      @blueredbrick Před 2 lety +1

      We worry a lot about this topic and not sending help to Ukraine is far more worrysome. Better contain this war to the lands of Ukraine than to escalate to full on WW3, possibly even nuclear.

    • @cydoman8014
      @cydoman8014 Před 2 lety

      NATO countries can only help defend a NATO member attacked by an enemy. NATO is defensive in its authority. It has no authority to initiate war on another country. Putin knows this. If private arms dealers can find and sell more aggressive equipment without going through a government, that might be legally allowed, but Putin has no reason to respect it. The only thing holding Putin back is the likelihood of a long, costly and unwinnable war on Ukrainian soil and an economic ban within the international market place. If no one buys Russian oil, Putin must raise money elsewhere. He has hoped to use a gold backed fund of 600 Billion dollars to keep Russia afloat, but he cannot get to it and Biden has already taken 300 billion as a reserve for lawsuits of people killed by Russians or Russian hirelings. In other words there is a pot of Russian gold worth 300 billion for Ukraine to use to rebuild their country once Putin chooses to leave or loses authority.

      I agree 100%. The west has got this wrong from the start, in fact since 2014 when Putin annexed Crimea and initiated hostilities in the Donbass. It has been a sorry tale of appeasement and “wishing the problem away” despite the warning signs. We have been sending all the wrong signals to Putin. If he sees us standing back while women in labour are bombed, children are slaughtered and innocent people have to watch as their family members’ corpses are being eaten by stray dogs on the street, he has good reason to believe he could overrun a small Baltic state like Estonia within hours and beyond a lot of protest and posturing (despite its NATO membership) we will do nothing about it, once again fearful at the prospect of nuclear war. I feel that a day of reckoning is approaching where we will face the ultimate test of our resolve & mettle, and I think Putin is up for it. Are we? I’ll probably get roasted here for courting potential nuclear devastation, but looking at it through Putin’s eyes, what was the point of all his years of scheming and manouvreing to restore the old Soviet empire back to Russia only to see it all wiped off the map? I think we are sooner or later going to have to call his bluff, and if that’s the case, better sooner than later.

      Interestingly, US escalated conflict in Korea from 1950 to 1953 (including providing fighter jets - one of the first ones, actually) - in some cases, US F-86 Sabres and Starfighters fought directly with Mig 15 jets piloted by RUSSIAN pilots. Look at where both Koreas are now - South Korea, a country which enjoys democracy and provides itself - and the West - with the state-of-the-art technologies in mobile, electronics, cars, construction, etc, etc - while North Korea - LEAD BY A DICTATOR WITH BLOOD ON HIS HANDS - is a backwards hellhole which inter alia has been earning money with state-supported organ transplants.... and threatens the world with nuclear war on a daily basis. Fit M/// Trudeau must be bilingual to be Prime Minister due to our Canadian democracy. Also there are many French Canadians who do not speak English, especially the unique people's in their province de Quebec. The French colonized Canada first. The British managed these territories politically, but the French dominated them culturally. That was a matter the British had to deal with. People in those colonies spoke French and followed French religious and legal practices. in 1774, the British enacted the Québec Act. This Act guaranteed the practice of the Catholic faith in Québec and allowed French civil law in private matters. In matters related to public administration, such as criminal prosecution, the common law system applied.
