Popov is accused of "large-scale fraud," allegedly stealing over 1,700 tons of metal worth over 130 million rubles. These materials were meant for constructing defense fortifications in the Zaporizhzhia region. Instead, the money reportedly vanished into Popov's pockets.

I thought it was a Ukrainian boy and a Russian tank. I figured the boy was taking the flag down to throw away in a mud pit or fire. In that case I would believe a Russian tank would run over the kid. The issue (kidnapping) of the children is what got me hooked on this war. I wish you would do more stories on the children.
Never forget all of the Russians who abused children and their families in Ukraine. From the mass graves (in Izium) to the stolen children. Now if Ukrainian parents don't become Russian citizens and go to flight against their brothers and cousins Russia will take their newborn children at birth.
Speaking of Izium. What did those 414 people see? The Russians thought it was better to murder them and bury them all in a mass grave instead of letting them testify. Whatever they saw must have been truly horrific.
If Russia want's to sign a treaty they must first prove they will stand by one. If Russia wants to negotiate, start with your original written agreement. Pull back all of their troops back behind their original boarder and then you can start negotiations. If they don't show they will honor the original agreement how can you expect them to honor any further agreements.
It's our war to lose. Russia can NOT win. Unless we choose to not support Ukraine of course. It is on us in the global West to pick the world we want to live in. Choose wisely. Thanks.

Before shooting himself with a pistol inside his bunker Hitler did similar things such as sacking Generals left and right and taking the task of war making on himself. In an earlier occasion when Count Stefenberg a member of a cohort of officers who wanted to remove Hitler took a bomb to Hitler's bunker and which exploded but Hitler was injured but manage to save his life to continue with his nefarious activities. Most of the Generals whom Hitler suspected of carrying out the 'plot' were hung by piano wire to prolong their death throe. Putin will do a worse thing to his own Generals, if, he gets half a chance ! Over to the Russian Generals to bring down the dictator !

Ukraine is struggling to shake off a legacy of corruption from the former Soviet Union. Being under the thumb of Soviet repression and their way of doing things for almost 50 years, is bound to leave a mark. If you count the time before the Soviets, then it was Russia indoctrinating Ukrainians.
It will take some time to root out the worst offenders, but there will always be some corruption. Every government has some bad players, enriching themselves at the expense of the people.
