  • I had a mouse left over after feeding the frogs, so I figured I'd make another feeding timelapse of my large Porcellio laevis "dairy cow" colony!

I'm always so impressed by how quickly the dairy moos will devour things! They're voracious!

Impressive! Makes me wonder if protein hungry isopods like this should really be employed as clean up crews in terrariums.
They might devour the actual inhabitants if they are immobile (due to molt, hibernation, sickness, etc.), no?

I keep a lot of isopods and both Diary Cows and P. scaber literally try to eat my fingers. I would never use them as clean up crew with other animals!!! I highly advise Armadillidium species or Cubaris murina as tropical/temperate clean up.

I’ve kept them with my BP and other species and it’s definitely a risk but I’ve never had any issues

Did you slice the mouse open or did the isopods make their way to the guts on their own?
