Nile, thank you to exist! I listen your Chic music from 40 years, I was 9 y.o. when radio played "We are family" and all your others big success. I love this musician, his guitar touch you can know immediately in every song he plays. Fantastic Nile! Ciao from Milano Italy

Bernard Edwards and Nile Rodgers are legends. Bernard's bass compositions and arrangements are foundational, iconic and timeless and so are Niles melodic guitar compositions. Both of them are truly inspirational. Chic is one of the greatest bands ever, just a perfect blend of special talent, from the singers, keyboardist, drummer, and violinists. These sounds will live forever!

I didn't know who this guy was when My drummer said "Yea Niles Rodgers is going to be at this festival! We are going to play in front of Niles!" I didn't pay much attention really but I looked him up on you tube and was floored.. personally I was actually one of the "DISCO SUCKS" guys in the 70's and I'll tell you after listening to a few interviews I'm convinced even with all the fame and the people he's known through out his career its obvious he's above all, a very humble and down to earth soul....

when i heard the music of "Chic" and Nile Rogers producing Diana Ross, i thought well is disco music, but if you heard what Nile did with "material girl" song of Madonna, that is not a good luck, is work of great music arranger ,then what he did producing "lets Dance" for David Bowie, was another master of creation, David Bowie ,wanted a hit song, and there you go Nile made a hit song , a song that went streaming for large multitudes.

His whole career evolved around that bar chord or power bar chord. Now imagine if he'd known that when his mom bought him his first guitar. Mr. Rogers is definitely an inspiration and definitely in my top 5 best singer song writers / Guitarist. I'd love to hear a blues album written by him with that disco flavor sprinkled all through it. Which it's all Blues but you know what I mean. Much love Niles Rogers and I hope one we day we have a chance to meet and play together or even record. Actually, musicians talents don't get to evolve the music anymore. Real musicians have been practially cut out of the picture - nobody buys music anymore. All the successful artists do now is play live shows. New artists literally have to do what they're told, basically sell their souls to make it. The big money makers are the Music industry corporation(s). They just pick out faces to go with computer generated hits that are fed to the public non-stop until it catches on, all the while, bankrolled with advertisements.

i'm sorry , i could not disagree more with you my friend. you shouldn't compare Petrucci or Satriani to Neil, it's like comparing apples to oranges. Guitar it's not only about sick fingerstyle techniques and crazy fast sweeps and solos or fucking pinch harmonics, it's about creating melodically well structured content that sounds good , and this dude is a genius at doing it.
if you were a true guitarist you wouldn't say at all that Neil is a terrible player, because it's not , he's actually the best in he's genre. and It's not by a stroke of luck that he got the chance to work with some of the best artists that the world has ever known , but he did it because he earned it.

SOUNDING GOOD will get a musician's work noticed time and time again. It will take one off the street and get one to the top repeatedly. And it will also get one imitated over and over. You hear the Chic guitar sound played by Nile Rodgers when you listen to the disco songs of the 70's. You hear it in the rap music of the 80's. You hear it when you listen to the rock and roll of the 90's. And even today, you hear it in the music of pop groups such as Maroon 5 and Coldplay.
