As a portuguese, Lewis was saying Ronaldo would be the worst player in the tournament and he has been doing alright for someone that has "retired". No one in Portugal expects him to perform like 2012 or nowhere near and he has been unselfish and great at link up play, giving another assist to Bernaro in the end of the game against Turkey. I mean, he has been better than Kane! Now he says the Ronaldo fans were having big expectations and he is the flop of the tournament but according to Lewis he should be player of the tournament since he is a "retired" player that would be the worst player.

Lukaku is actually woeful, played in the prem for two stints with Utd and Chelsea just recently and he had a touch of a priest, excluding his time at Everton he was very good there. He has to be the biggest stat padder of all time against small teams. His goal record is amazing and you'd think he's class because of his numbers for club and country then plays an important game and fails miserably. Brilliant for a year at Inter you'd think he was getting back to his Everton days but my god he was like Andy Carroll for Chelsea and that's disrespectful to Carroll.

In the utopia Tom described about players just not talking to the media, whilst I wholeheartedly agree psychologically it would be far better to be away from it and have a tunnel vision on themselves, the reality is that the players have media obligations. These forced/fake interviews we're seeing are probably the best of a bad lot, under no circumstances should they be scrapped in favour of going back to conventional media obligations and slap a player in front of tabloid journalists. Whilst the media they're doing now is pointless and transparent, empirical evidence suggests the alternative is a recipe for disaster.
