My piano teacher was Scottish - Mrs. McKenzie, and she'd always be eating her breakfast of those square (Lorne?) sausages. potato scones with an egg on top when I arrived for my weekly before-school piano lesson. I could smell it cooking as I walked up the long & winding garden path - so good on a frosty winter's morning. Thanks for reminding me of those days of long ago ...
I just remembered she even had a miniature porcelain plate in her china cabinet with exactly that meal on it in relief... about the size of a penny. It was just so cute and always made me smile to see it.

I was getting mixed up with his grandad Robert Stephenson who invented The Rocket.
I was just talking to my daughter about the Singing Potter this morning. She couldn't believe my story about my encounter so I googled and found this video and am now laughing in the knowledge the geezer is still there, spouting his religion. I encountered him back in the year 2000. I had visited Moffat, went in for a browse and he got everyone in the shop to come through the back to watch him throw a pot. At least that was the premise. Once there we were all preached at and you could see folk visible trying to back out the door. I stood my ground and was polite but felt a bit cross and cheated - if I'd wanted a religious sermon I'd've gone to a church. Anyhow, I left and drove back to Broadmeadows Youth Hostel where I was staying at the time, still feeling cross and passed the Same Yi Ling Buddhist place. I went in for a wee look and for a cuppa in their cafe and the difference between this place and the potter couldn't have been more marked. It was relaxed, welcoming, not in your face and peaceful. I'm not a religious person but if either were trying to win me over this place would have done it.
Buddhism denies the need for a Saviour , it may be pleasant but it's a lie.
Gerry Lyons is intense , for sure.
But he is preaching the truth about who Jesus Christ is.

That's a town I do want to visit. Bob Earnshaw did a vlog on the town a while ago. I just love the look of the place.
As for the square sausage meat they must be for sandwich making. You'll just have to look out for some extra large eggs to put on top of them, enjoy. I'm sure I have seen them in my area but cannot remember which store I saw them in. I'm sure you won't go to hell Dan, not if you stick by your little angel Mazzi (she has got her wings remember).

I really enjoy browsing around little gift shops myself when I've vacationed down by the coast here in California, but never have I seen a deer hofed hanger not sure I'd want something like that hanging on my wall kinda of freaky!

I had the same experience in the potter shop. Damned me to hell and damnation, or something, because I didn't want to take Jesus into my life right there and then, which was all a bit scary, but the man is clearly not well.

I'm a Christian too(as I believe in Jesus Christ) but I would Never say that to anyone, much less someone I just met. I have met Gerry , the Singing Potter. He is a Christian , but a very religious one. I'd imagine that Gerry would have said "you are in danger of going to hell" , as he tells everyone the gospel.
Yes he is intense , to put it mildly !
We are all in danger of going to hell , that is why Jesus , the Son of God came to suffer death on the cross and save all who trust in Him.
I also played Rugby Union against Moffat RFC , they hammered us !
The Singing Potter lives his life condemning people to hell. It gives him a sense of superiority, which he needs to function as a person, to mask his own tragic feelings of inadequacy. He is a poor, deluded, old soul, even though, in ways, he is a fascinating and amusing case. It is unacceptable, however, when someone holds themselves out as a devout Christian when their behaviour is the exact opposite of a true Christian witness, in too many aspects. Such behaviour is clearly sinful, as well as portraying Christians in a very negative light.
Please remember what the Bible tells us when believers are telling people the Good News about Jesus Christ. It tells us to be gentle, meek, and kind. We are not to judge and condemn others. What is the point in that? How will you ever win new converts if you berate everyone, harass everyone, and like a self appointed demi-god, condemn everyone to eternal banishment and punishment? Christ never did that, he showed love and compassion, when he demonstrated the true meaning, and eternal purpose of life, to people. Sheer arrogant condemnation of people who do not automatically share the Potter's extreme, fanatical, religious views, is palpable nonsense, as well as being hideously immature, and lacking in any form of grace. He who is without sin, let him cast the first stone. The Potter needs to condemn and cast off his own warped, egoistical, sense of self, and then he might be able to provide some useful service. The man is sadly worthy of righteous, open rebuke.

they used to sell them in aldi too they were called lorne sausages
In America we just get bulk sausage meat and patty it into whatever shape or thickness we like. It comes similar to ground beef. I feel like it is way more popular than link sausages in casing.

Interesting town, Moffet, full of nice little shops and that funny skinny hotel. I would avoid the singing potter shop, simply because I don't do weird religious nutters. How tiresome! That dude needs to stop using his shop, in order to beat people with the wicked stick! I would have voted with my feet and left and not spent a farthing. I think you held up under it well, but who needs that?! (Chock it up to him not being able to handle his own insignificance, which is why he has to make such a big noise for nothing.) The ram was fun however, and I liked the funny names of the little shops. All in all I think Moffet would be a fun visit, tho minus the singing potter shop.
Let me see, if I had to chose between who has the more Christian manner, that ranting singing potter or kind hearted Mazzy, I would chose Mazzy! She is always smiling and has a kind thought for everyone. So if you were God who would you rather spend your time with?! Hmmm...No question there, Mazzy!
