    I was a little nervous watching him breathe in that ozone while it was turned on - especially after it was complete and he opened the doors so all the fumes could get in his lungs. I have this machine and used it on my car for 30 minutes and it worked great. I then aired it out for several hours and kept my face away from it. No need for a 24 hour run time.

    You need to dry it up first before Ozoning it. Low humidity allows the generator to work best and last. High humidity interferes with operation and is rough on ozonizers plates. (unless you have a UV light type ozonizer ) not a bad idea to run your a/c for a little while as you ozonize

Finally, change seats up and then down in different positions so it gets all the fabric. Way too dangerously long to leave it continuously running in such a confined space for that long.

    Question. If the machine takes ambient oxygen and turns it into O3 or “Ozone”, what happens if you leave it in the closed car where the Oxygen supply is minimal

    • @tousshong9438
      @tousshong9438 Před 4 lety

      In that case the system becomes ineffective since it just keep using the O3 over and over again. The generator needs fresh O2 to passed thru the plate and turns its to O3 so at least if he runs it for 18hrs, he could've crack the windows.

      @thomassoderholm1415 Před 3 lety +1

      The supply of oxygen will get "used up" and that is what will kill the living beings, i.e. lack of oxygen. 18 hours without oxygen should kill a lot of things. This is when you keep the ozone machine in the car. You should get some oxygen seeping into the car through cracks but the machine promptly makes Ozone out of it, keeping the oxygen concentration low. Additionally as Ozone is unstable it will react and release the stable Oxygen, which again gets converted to Ozone by the machine.
      The overall supply of Oxygen is limited so it is correct that the overall supply of Ozone is also limited. However the kill factor of starving all living mold of oxygen is a plus in this method.

    • @Aphorism89
      @Aphorism89 Před 3 lety +2

      I think the best practice would be:
      Run it 30/60 minutes with AC on recycle.
      Run in 30 min with AC without recycle on.
      Let the car air 30 minutes with your A/C on taking air from outside.
      Run it again with the AC off, for another 30/60 minutes.
      Let the car air out an hour.
      Done.
      This way you use it enough time to kill bacteria, but then you go over it again with fresh O2, to make the machine work efficiently.
      Ideally, the best way of doing this is with the machine outside and a pipe pumping the O3 in. But most of us won´t spend such money on the more expensive machines... of course. SO I think it is best to do it in phases, where you bring new O2 in.
      Might take longer, but sounds more efficient. IF there is no O2, you can not produce new O3. Now, cars are not perfectly sealed so some O2 will always come by..

    • @randybobandy9828
      @randybobandy9828 Před 11 měsíci

      The ozone breaks back down to oxygen o3 --> o2 when it comes into contact with organic matter. You will not run out of o2 if there is still living mold in there. This isnt a issue.

    10,000 mg/hr is overkill for a car, but I guess you got it for your properties (one room at a time) 2birds right!
    So I bought a smokers car and I’m a smoker too, but my other cars don’t smell like an ashtray gang in prison because: 1- Never turn on HVAC while smoking. If -35Celcius cold, position vent to feet and fan on medium-Low. Never AC smoke or Re-Circulate while smoking NEVER. 2- crack only 1 window 5cm to achieve vacuum effect. 3- keep cig hand close to window crack, keep one eye on the cherry and one hand at the wheel. 4- ash & butt out the window then roll down all 4 windows to clear smell. 5- Quit if you can, if not vape in the car.
    Here’s what I did to neutralize smell:
    A) HVAC Evap/Core Foam cleaning:
    Musty odor smell is typically due to bad filter or clogged drain. Always use charcoal (carbon activated) filter replace as needed. Second most common reason is Mold/Mildew in HVAC evap/core. I used nose hose from dealer kit ($50/kit) and then started buying AC SAFE NO RINSE foaming rad evap condenser cleaner from HomeDepot/Hardware Lowes Rona etc. $10/bottle. MUST be NO RINSE. Locate Evap drain pipe under car (can also inject from blower motor/cabin filter opening or through front centre vents) but the drain pipe is the most effective.
    1-Turn OFF car, wear PPE get under and shove pointy nose hose into Evap drain pipe and 2- depress bottle empty half can, 3- then leave drain plugged & wait 20 min for foam to expand into as much HVAC core surface area as possible after which foam liquifies and drains by gravity, unplug and let it drain (use clean catch pan so you can see & assess the dirt) repeat steps 1-3 to remaining foam bottle. 4- Then turn ON car, roll up windows, set HVAC fan (or AC) on RE-CIRC & HIGH let run for 20 min. 5- Then, turn OFF AC (compressor) leaving FAN on HIGH & Roll down windows to air out the disinfecting foaming detergent. Although it smells great, it’s not something you should inhale: it’s NOT an air freshener.[also chemicals btw]
    A-1) Air Intake Cleaning:
    1-Turn on car HVAC on FRESH-AIR with AC (compressor) ON fan on HIGH, vent open to FACE only. Roll up all windows and close doors.
    2- Locate cabin air-intake found under wiper arms & above firewall (usually passenger side)
    3- Use Lysol or Dealer or other similar spray disinfectant onto intake thoroughly and generously (45 second intervals)
    Each interval switch to FEET only then DEFROST only, until the bottle empties
    4- let it run its course for 20 min. FACE & FEET & DEFROST Equally.
    5- turn OFF AC (compresser) keep FAN ON HIGH & roll down all windows, take a drive to force more air through intake & out windows.
    B) Armour All or similar vent & duct cleaning:
    Just like above (A-1) section but through vents.
    1- Locate all vents (Defrost Dash vents by windshield) floor foot vents (Front & rear) FACE vents.
    3- Turn OFF car
    4- Spray contents through attached straw in each vent. Let straw spray through vents into ducts.
    5- wait 20 min
    6- Windows UP run FAN only on HIGH & RE-CIRCULATE for 20 min- I don’t see the point of running the compressor.
    7- Windows DOWN keep fan running on FRESH-AIR mode and take a drive to air out car further.
    It might smell nice but it’s still not for inhalation, it supposed to clean & disinfect HVAC. (This Armour All is also a foamy solution, not to be confused with EVAP foam, it’s a much milder solution that doesn’t expand as well and isn’t enough quantity for an Evap job)
    C) clean carpets, seats, headliner & other fabrics. 1- Steam. 2- Shampoo 3- Hot water Extractor. Note- Be careful with headliner adhesive. This should REMOVE some smoke odour source.
    WAIT & smell, if 1-6 days passed & no difference (ask others who don’t ride that car often) if they can still sense a lingering soft smoke smell then move to step D. You can also move to D if you can visibly smell it or you like to try all.
    D) OZONE treatment:
    Don’t Use OZONE O3 near:
    >People | Pets | Plants
    >Directly after carpet cleaning or detailing car or the above Evap Vents & Ducts steps, O3 neutralizes all odours good or bad as well any gaseous state matter. Prolonged exposure will oxidize solid state matter.
    O3 (unstable/reactive) = O2 (stable Oxygen gas) + O (elemental oxygen)
    Elemental Oxygen gas high electron affinity & will strip/steal electrons from other atoms by forming stronger covalent bonds which destroys existing bonds of odour causing gases (bad scents) hence that’s how it neutralizes odours. It does the same to our esophagus & lungs as well as metals & vinyl etc.
    1- Hide metals (seat belts buckled in, head rest metal/chrome etc)
    2-Turn ON HVAC fan to HIGH on RE-CIRC
    set on high HEAT. (Hot air rises)
    3- Position OZONE GEN near headliner (use bungie cords through the OZONE Gen handles and rear seat arm supports)
    O3 is denser than O2 H2 N2 and other gases in our atmosphere (air in the car) so it ozone sinks to bottom. Plug in a fixed fan along with car vent heat should do the trick.
    4- preset 10-30 min depending on odour severity. Close all doors / windows and run. Do in intervals if required more than 30 min. For example: 4-30 min treatments instead of a solid 2 hours.
    5- preset Ozone Gen 30 min. Wait another 30 min (oxidation reaction time), roll down windows, doors & set FRESH-AIR mode for 60 min (Treatment + ‘cure’ time) Ozone has a strong lingering smell. Air out for 2 or more hours if you have to. Drive on highway if you have to.
    Finally,
    If that still didn’t work & you and other still smell smoke odour, then pay $350-850 for professional detailer with warranty and fumigation guarantee.
    If that still didn’t work sell the car.
    If you can’t sell due to odour, then start smoking in the car and the scent will be unnoticeable by your 3rd pack. 😝
