    In this 4g64 engine you MUST balance the oil pump sprocket correctly; unlike other engines, it is not enough to make the marks align, there's a process to check if the balancer is in place of is 360º off (a full turn) this is what would make the enngine vibrate if not done correctly. The manual shows the correct way to do it, there's a service bolt on the driver's side of the block you stick a screwdriver in to check if the oil pump balancer is facing the correct side

    This is a 4G64 engine. One way you can check if there's any valve or piston damage is by doing a leak down test. Remove the intake and exhaust valve rockers first, this will ensure that all of the valves are closed and you can do the leak down test safely

    You forgot to show how to properly tension the timing belt. Should be after 8:45 and before 8:46. There is an actual process to this. Just throwing the hydraulic tensioner and eccentric pulley on is a guaranteed future valve job. Yes it is an interference engine unless you are lucky. Done many of these engines in a dealership back in the 2000’s. Even had one fellow tech spray some brake cleaner on the belt while running, trying to find an oil leak on the oil pump just to watch the belt fly off. Had to send a freshly rebuilt head back to the machine shop to get valves replaced for a 2nd time.

    FYI this motor 4G69 is a interference motor. You got very lucky that the valves was not bent.

    hello a question to me the crankshaft is broken ... something happens to the pistons .. when the valves do not lower or affect him, px burst only the band changes ..

    Do you have to remove the timing components to remove the crank shaft sensor? Error Code PO335. Thanks!

    @damon323 Před 7 lety +2

    thanks for posting, but not sure why you wouldn't think the valves wouldn't get bent. It's a interference engine unlike most Honda's

    My Mity mas don't have the short belt behind the timing belt it doesn't have the gear or tensioner 2 4 engine

    • @hijale
      @hijale Před 2 lety

      Some people delete the balance shaft. The engine wont idle as smooth without it. Some do that because if the balance belt snaps it can cut the timing belt and the engine gets damaged. The balance shaft belt pulley rotates at twice the speed of the crankshaft. Normally it fails, the balance belt snaps and then the timing belt snaps.
