    I just shoved some very dried up sticks in a bag of dried dirt into a pot of potting mix and watered. They were budding in two day's and two week's now and are a foot long vine reaching for the sky.

      Same, i just ordered two vines online and it was delayed in shipping and they came dry, stuck em in some soil in mineral tubs and watered and budding.

    Thanks for the information. Planting 4 vines here in Peoria, Arizona. They are warm loving plants and good for zone 9B. Your soil amendment advice is very good, especially for our pathetic soil here. Thanks

    Another great video Pete, I hope these new vines flourish and thrive this coming summer. I think the old grapes should be fine, and you do have to keep a close eye on grapes, EVERYTHING likes to chew on them. 🍇🍇🍇👍💚

    Mourvedre is a varietal from the Rhone region of France. Here in California, it's pronounced "More-Ved"

    What if you have bareroots that just came in? Winter hasnt ecen officially started here yet. Is it okay to plant them now outside or while they wake up? Do i water them or not since they should stay "asleep"?

    sprouts from the rootstock will be a different variety grape than what you had grafted on , correct? did you amend anything to the soil to lower the ph for grapes?

    • @petebeasttexashomesteading
      @petebeasttexashomesteading  Před 3 lety

      Correct, the rootstock is just to grow the variety that was grafted on it. You should always take off anything that sprouts below the graft union on the rootstock. My soil is pretty nutrual here, so I really don't have to do anything to it to lower or raise the ph.

    I’d be concerned about the amount of manure, OM, and mulch on top. You may be substantially decreasing the soil pH. But that’s just me thinking out loud. Great video

    Are the minerals an extra charge?

    • @petebeasttexashomesteading
      @petebeasttexashomesteading  Před 3 lety

      I always add minerals to my garden soil to give the plants what they need to grow and thrive. Any plant that is mineral deficiant will be sickly and get attacked by insects. Plus we need to eat fruits and veggies that are rich in minerals for our own health.
