As a singer myself, it is completely irresponsible of the judges and vocal coaches to force a voice that is obviously temporarily damaged and strained. They could have damaged his voice for the long haul; especially if they knew his capabilities for a 30 second solo. Just.... wow.
Right? Yet on the voice some people just smash the button hearing a millisecond lol
But you only have one shot. One opportunity to seize everything you ever wanted.

Yeah, I had to fast forward through that. No self respecting "vocal coach" would EVER say "if you don't sing, that means you're giving up". She should have her career trashed for that alone. Absolutely $hitty woman. I get bronchitis every year around the same exact time and there's been a few times I thought I was going to have to cancel leading music for youth events. I can say, Kenalog shots are FREAKING AMAZING!!! I wouldn't normally say vocal steroids should be taken regularly but, in a pinch, it helps so much. It takes about a day for them to really do their job, though. I've had to do it 4 times and my doctor knew my background so it wasn't a huge deal. It takes your voice back to near where it would be if you weren't sick.

i felt so bad for the second girl. i have epilepsy, ive had seizures at work and in public. it’s very embarrassing! makes you not wanna even leave the house. i hope she’s doing okay!!

@@justianowski You can hear them say she’s seizing several times. Seeing a seizure can be triggering. Also why would the put her having a seizure on national tv?! Me also having Epilepsy not only applaud them for not showing her have a seizure,but also her coming back after having a seizure. I quit a job after having a seizure in front of my coworkers. Seizures are no joke.

She has vasovagal syncope, vasovagal to do with blood flow and the vagus nerve which causes sudden decrease in heart rate, and syncope meaning like a faint. So she collapses due to this. And she has seizures with it

Why were they forcing that guy to sing even though he was clearly incapable of performing at his fullest? Katy said “I don’t think that’s fair” but it’s not fair to strain somebody’s damaged voice and judge him on the same level as everybody else.

I have a degree in music.. but my focus is in vocal health.. making sure the breathing the posture etc are good the preserving of the voice and what to do when a singer gets sick .. I'm kinda voice rehab lol X

I was much more than frustrated at that. It was unnecessary! If he's "squeaking out the words, they're not going to win anyway. And what if that singing damaged his vocal chords?! If you're body is "saying no," don't do it.

She didn't have a panic attack, she had a syncope episode which caused a seizure (from said heart problems) This isn't supposed to be rude just a correction, sorry if it sound rude! /gen

nate’s vocal coach makes me extremely upset. she’s really rude, telling him he HAS to sing and he has no other choice despite the fact 1. he has a serious health issue and 2. no one’s forcing him. she showed zero remorse except for an emotionless, not at all genuine “i’m sorry”. not to mention her decision to tell the judges that he didn’t sing as much as he was supposed to. if she had have just shut her mouth everything would have been better
I agree. I was super angry at them forcing him to sing when he physically wasn’t able to! They’re not going to force that on other super well known talents so why would they do that to him????

As a nurse, this made me scream at the screen to grab her when she started trying to walk stage. Also, they need to make sure they are hydrated, and checked before going on stage. Blood pressure, and all preexisting conditions noted. Best thing is to offer juice and/or Gatorade .
I actually thought a health screen is mandatory
They are adults and like any job they should know their own limits and healthcare. Putting a camera in the room does not make it somebody else’s job to be your keeper.

Noticed the people running these shows were more concerned about their ratings than the actual person. That one guy Nate that was ridiculous having him sing and possibly ruin his vocal cords with scarring from singing when his voice should be resting. The woman saying he was a quitter is an ass. Then Lionel Richie attacking verbally this woman to the point she passes out hits the floor. It's not worth being on a show that doesn't care about a person's well being.
Lionel "Lyin" Richie steals other people's melodies for his own songs. Ie, "Hello" borrows from Amy Grant's "El Shaddai". He really shouldn't be in a position of critiquing others.

I watched the first girl live. She didn’t pass out because of what he said, it was severe dehydration which she was treated for in the hospital and came back the next week.
Stress can also be a factor with dehydration causing high blood pressure. It can also cause her to get dizzy and faint. I've had it happen. When someone is acting like that she was rubbing her forehead that was the beginning of stress and then passing out. I bet if they checked all her medical records her blood pressure was up.
My family friend was on this show and he said it was so degrading, disrespectful and fake. Then made him look bad and they were so rude and not worth it

His health is way more important, and putting him to shame like that ruins people. There has been many celebrities that cancelled shows cuz they couldnt perform over a health issue and wanted to give the people a show they deserved.. and they're still loved

All of these people who are trying to enter show business need to be aware that they are entering something cruel and unforgiving. The showbiz motto is that the show must go on no matter what. We've seen celebrities die and their bosses still throw the party, have the award show and, if possible, go on with a concert with whoever is still alive. You can cancel sometimes, but for the most part, performers are expected to perform.

In reference to the skater who flipped off the stage -
Life-saving tip: if you EVER see someone fall, hit their head/neck, and their arms immediately go stiff like that skater, DON’T MOVE THEM, AND CALL FOR HELP! They’ve injured themselves to the point of causing a seizure and need immediate medical attention.

The fact that they sat him up and make him stand up was baffling. He could of really injured his spine/head/neck whatever and they didn’t see to care except to get him out of there
Looked like a potential spinal injury or brain swelling to me. Either way, definitely don’t want to move him. They did stabilize the neck first though
Its Decerberate posturing when the limbs stiffen outward, that's likely just a concussion; however, if the arms flex inward that's decorberate posturing and is a sign of significant brain trauma. Don't move the person without a neck collar in either situation.
while I overall agree with the advice here, remember that it's no use protecting their spine if they're dead!
Check if they're breathing while keeping them still, but if they're not, you have to move them to get them breathing again! Ideally you just tilt their head back but do NOT move it sideways & hopefully that will clear their airway & have them breathe, but if not, you're going to have to get them onto their back for CPR.
Don't not do CPR to save their spine!
& obviously call for help for anyone who's unconscious (possible exception for epilepsy if they're a known epileptic & come around within 5 minutes & tell you not to)
As a self taught and trained singer, I even know, if you are sick you NEVER sing when sick. You can totally mess your voice up for ever. I was in a bad accident and had screamed my voice raw in pain. It took 4 yrs of babying, resting, and relearning how to sing to get back to how I sang before the accident. It's no joke, your voice is a delicate instrument.
As someone that also suffers with Vasovagal syncope, I really understand how embarrassing and annoying it must’ve been for her to have her condition play up in the middle of something as important as that. I’m so proud that she came out and carried on though

I feel these. Several months ago my teacher fell in the middle of class and started having a seizure. I didn’t actually see her fall but I walked in on her shaking with her eyes rolled in the back of her head. It was very traumatizing. I still remember one of my favorite teachers coming in the next day with a black eye from her fall and telling us sorry for scaring us. She was diagnosed with epilepsy and told us that if she ever dropped down again to do exactly what we did before. Thanks for reading my story. Have a great day and a great life.

@@ReadyorNot811 you do nothing, don't try to hold their heads, don't try to put things in their mouths... just clear the space around so that they hit themselves as little as posible, sometimes the movements come very strong and you won't be able to stop them from hitting something and also from hitting you, so you should just give them space and wait for it to finish

Those dancers were absolutely AMAZING!!! As a dancer myself I can feel for Luis and how scary it is to injure yourself DURING a very important performance and have to continue either by yourself or let the show go on without you. I had an ankle injury during a ballet performance and in order to get taken care of I had to semi-walk across the stage with a smile on my face, swallowing the pain cause I didn’t want to fuck the choreo up…fortunately it wasn’t that serious but it was scary as hell. I cried my soul out when the curtains came down.

The 3rd guy got treated very poorly, the staff literally waited for a few seconds know he already fall and no matter what fall is that they should still act as it might be the head that hit the ground first.

Fainting is the mild part... injuring yourself after fainting is the worry.
How can those professional singers be OK asking a clearly damaged and strained singer to sing like that? If they were touring and sounded like that there would be no way they would be going on. I'm glad nate made it through after all that and I hope he didn't sustain any lasting damage.

I don't have the same condition as Makayla. Stress cause me to have seizures as well. I actually have epilepsy. It's a hard thing to deal with so I know how she feels. Most don't get to live a normal life because of it, I haven't.
A member of my family suffers from seizures and they are actually the scariest fucking things you will ever see in your life
@@tadhggoreyoneill13666 They must have grand mal seizures. I have partial seizures. There are different types of seizures. Which occur due to what area of the brain is temporarily shutting down. Seizures are similar to a stroke. I saw my grandmother have one. So the symptoms are rather similar. But the neurological side effects of a stroke are more severe than a seizure. A lot of people die when they have one. Yet they loose consciousness and shake as if they are having a seizure.

My dog suffers from seizures/epilepsy. The vets told me to put him down. That made me cry because he only gets them once every two or three months, but he'll have at least 20 within a 24 hour period. He's on phenobarbital. After two days of recovering he's back to normal. Even after having surgery to remove the spoon he swallowed.

Ivan got medical attention but was deemed ok! He knocked himself out real hard and got a concussion I'm sure. He missed the make-up time for auditions so unfortunately he couldn't come back that season.

I wonder if the lady in the first act messed up her lines because she couldn't concentrate due to dehydration. As someone who has been severely dehydrated, I can say it can give you an almost " out of body" feeling.
Luke and Lionel have been parents for years so for them this is second nature. It’s new to Katy and it’s the sweetest thing watching them all react differently.

I know the participants take a risk taking part on this shows, what surprised me was the judges like Katy Perry meanness, Lionel Richie and Simon Cowell. Shame on them. Will never watch those shows again.
I have vasovagal syncope too (POTS) and it is probably the most embarrassing thing ever. You feel really really bad really fast and then you’re fine. It’s awful. I feel bad for her.

That fact that the cameramen were filming people while they could possibly die pisses me off- or whoever was letting/telling them to film- if I was dying, or in a horrible situation like these, I wouldn’t be comfortable with a camera in my face, let alone already having this happen.
The people had the help they needed, the cameraman doesn't have anything to do about It. Uf he puts himself in the middle he'll only be annoying and slowing down the help. Plus, it's his job to film.

the firefighters singing was one of the most wholesome things I've ever seen.
Incredible seeing people that live out of their voice, making someone crack even more his voice, and most probably hurting his vocal cords to a point that could be irreversible.
The young lady with the heart condition is one of the strongest people I’ve ever seen. Besides having a beautiful voice she represents character on the highest level.
