I was sick and tired of all of those Scaled Fist 1, Rogue 3, Vivisectionist 1 (sometimes 2) and only then start leveling Paladin ultra min-maxing solo Nightmare difficulty builds. I'm new to the game and I just wanna be a Paladin from start to finish, this video is just what I wanted.
IMO, if you're not going to cheese it and do scaled fist/Paladin for that insane defense and finesse/flurry greatness, then you should make a shield bash paladin and use Dex belts to meet the two weapon reqs.
It is great to see a paladin build that doesn’t multiclass. Do you think Tower Shield proficiency would help this build? Or would the -2 to attacks cripple this paladin?
Charisma modifier has no effect on the amount of Smite Evils you can cast. It gives you more Lay on Hands and makes Smite Evil more powerful. Here is what it says in-game about Smite Evil "At 4th level, and at every three levels thereafter, the paladin may smite evil one additional time per day."
Owly Games You should make some more guides why did you only make this one? Well you made a Valerie one but I use respec and she kinda sucks without that.

Cool!! I was looking for a nice paladin tank build to roleplay but everything I found was a crazy mix of classes fighting naked and unarmed, totally not paladin like. But, isn't the CON of your build too low? In the case of an enemy surpassing your AC with his roll, the small HP value would be a problem, no?

Tried it, and while it's a superb tank, you can forget about hitting anything -- critical misses all around for this build. Still, a very good starting point, just needs a few more tweaks.
i believe it's better to focus on avoiding being hit at all, especially on unfair if u ve been hit = u are dead, no matter 10 or 30 constitution u have.
Tank system in PF is little weird. Dodge builds are soooo superior to Armor/Shield builds. Its sad bud best tank isnt musculine halforc with plate armor and tower shield but lowly halfling with estoc and empty left hand. CON have no meaning coz most high enemy kill you in one shot no mather how HP you have. You need ultra high AC for reduct enemy hit rate to 5% (roll 20 is 100% hit) and mirror image to eliminate this 5%.
the only need of constitution is fortitude safe which is 1 point/2 con which is pathetic. Best way of tanking is having +19 AC over enemies' accuracy and have 50% masking and then saves.
Questionable build. Paladin don't have any built-in defense, except those AC deflection modifier from smite evil (which is limited to just 1 enemy and must be preserved for a tough battles) and one spell for +2 AC holy modifier (which works only against undead), so why should we make paladin a tank? Pal should be a dd, that focuses on taking down bosses, provides aditional dmg and accuracy for his party against it, and can even heal his tank, when its needed. If you want a "tank with holy powers" just build a priest or inquisitor with same feats and race, it will be MUCH better. And, by the way, you missed 2 good feats: 1st: Wall of shields. +2 to AC is a huge deal, especially at the early game, when we need as much of it, as we could squeeze. Yeah, you will need aditional character with a shield and this feat for it to work, but you have Harrim and Valerie and it fits for both of them perfectly. 2nd: Back to back. Another +2 to AC, when our tank is getting hit from +2 enemies. Not so important as wall, but can help as well.
Why should we make Paladin a tank? Easy! Because this is a game. It's supposed to be fun and nobody has any right to tell someone else how to have fun.

I mean there’s nothing you could do about critical misses. If your character rolls a 1 it’s an automatic miss regardless of your attack bonus.
