Hi, Kurtis. Great reminder. When I started, there was just one griddle, the old front grease 36" griddle. I still remember when Blackstone came out with a second set of spatulas, then the Hard Cover, and later an attached hood. It's pretty incredible looking back. I appreciate you watching & commenting. Have a great week!

Now that's a good looking griddle! I like the that this 28" griddle is deeper. I was thinking about getting a 36" to replace my 28" because I needed more room, but this new 28" Pro just might work out better. Also like that it has 2 side burners.

Hey Todd, I really love the videos per usual. Your just living the best life! Naturally as a huge griddle fan myself, I found your channel a while ago. I really like the down to earth video style. Reminds me of the reasons I love cooking, especially for other people. Personally one of my favorite things about watching CZcams cooking videos is just seeing how everyone does things different. I think that helps to shape our own cooking styles and techniques. It was only a few years ago that I really found my love for the outdoor griddle, and I’m sure glad I did.
Personally I actually have a chargrilled flatiron, 36in. I do really like it, it’s a lot of fun to cook on. Although I will say black stone brand tools are waaaaay better. I do want to get another one for travel, or when I don’t need as much cooking real estate. I’ve been thinking of one of then adventure ready blackstones, or a pro series. Probably 28in or so. I love to try out new products, and I’d be interested to see how the black stone compares to mine. Anyways, keep up the good work and I’m looking forward to more!

I only cook on my 28” at home maybe a couple times a week at most. My 17” gets taken camping and it gets used most days for the duration of the trip, and then not used until the next trip.

Make sure you send the same analysis to Ford, Chevy, Toyota, Polaris, SkiDoo, SONY, Apple, and every other company in the world as well. Blackstone is a company that makes products. Every year, the products get updated just like every other company ranging from Monster Energy to Ferrari. I hope that makes sense. Again, I appreciate you watching.

Hi, Patrick. You might be new to my channel. If you look back (I have 700 videos), I put lots of skillets and Dutch ovens on my griddle top. I do it all the time. I cook on them, I don't design them! I guess you could call customer service and see if they could get you in touch with an engineer or product designer? My take is that you'd obviously have more control with a flamed burner being able to control oil temperatures for frying in cast iron skillets, etc. In any event, thanks for watching!!!! Stay tuned for more!

    • @praisehisawesomename
      @praisehisawesomename  Před rokem

Hi there - That is entirely up to you. I get to use all the models since I work for Blackstone. With the Air Fryers, you have to ask yourself if you'd use the Air Fryers enough to justify buying them. If I didn't work for Blackstone, I would not buy a model with Air Fryers. Not because they are bad...no, the Air Fryer Combos work exceptionally well and they are a huge seller. I just don't use the air fryers that much. If I was spending my own money, given the size of my family and what my cooking trends are, I wouldn't buy either, I'd buy the Pro Series 36" Griddle available at Walmart. If I wanted to go bare-bones and save money, I'd buy the basic Walmart 36" Griddle an if I wanted the best of the best it would be the 36" Pro Series from Walmart. Take that from a guy who has used and tested them all. That's just me though. Opinions vary. God bless!

Once my grill at home dies I want to replace it with a Blackstone. Any way to keep out on the (uncovered) deck without it rusting in a month and being ruined? You need to have a combination of a hard and soft cover. Blackstone has many models. Whether you get a Blackstone with a hard cover or attached hood, you'll need a hard top to protect your top (worst case scenario, put a board overlapping the top of your griddle. You'll also need a soft cover to protect your entire griddle.

I know Blackstone Betty prefers a griddle with side burners since she makes so many different sauces, etc. I know, I'm spoiled since I work directly for Blackstone but if I was only buying one as a consumer, I would go with the 36" ProSeries for my personal needs! That is a tough question. There are lots of variables for you to look at.
First off, you need to make sure you need at Air Fryer. The Air Fryer Combo works INCREDIBLY WELL. It is very popular but you need to make sure you are going to use the Air Fryers enough to justify the purchase. I found that I didn't use the Air Fryers much at my house. I don't make much "fried" foods here so I just didn't use the Air Fryer on a regular basis (as in every week). Truthfully, if I didn't work for Blackstone, and could only have one griddle, it would be the 36" Pro Series or standard 36" Blackstone Griddle. The extra burners/BTUs make a huge difference. The Pro Series Griddles and Air Fryer Combos are built like Mack Trucks. They are rock-solid. I prefer a 36" Griddle over any other size. I work for Blackstone, so I get to have different models all over the place. I hope that makes sense. Let me know if you have any more questions. God bless!

@@praisehisawesomename I bought 36" pro series but i guess this is an older model. Shelves dont fold down and comments about the heat being exposed to items on the shelves is accurate. For me it was a great price I got it for, so I'm more than happy! the 28 XL was the minimum size i was considering but I'm glad I went with the 36". That new 28xl has some of those modifications folks talk about but rn it's more expensive. I want to ask, I saw a 36" at Lowes online last night with a side table... I'm wondering if that can replace my shelves? I will find out today. Looks like the same model as mine so fingers crossed I can buy that and change mine... Also looks like there are no wind shields for 36" with a hood?

It’s a yardistry brand 14’ x 12’ cedar pavilion. You can buy them to Costco and Sam’s Club. They take a great deal of work, and they are heavy, around 800 pounds in total, so it’s serious labor. Now that’s all said and done, we love it!

Hey todd.....these are on sale at walmart right now and they have a few floor models with slight rust on the griddle at the back. Im talking slight.....how would I go about removing that before seasoning it? Some of them are really rusted, but the one im looking at wasnt bad at all. Any tips appreciated so I can decide if I should go grab that discounted one. Thanks! Good luck on your hunts this year.

Are you talking a out rust on the griddle plate (the actual griddle plate) or on the base somewhere?
Thank you so much for the kind words. I got 1 pronghorn last week! God willing, I'll have a few videos coming from my hunts this year!

Hello Todd I am a new subscriber and have a question for you. I am looking at purchasing the griddle you have in this video, but I am torn as I like the Blackstone 4 burner 36” griddle with air fryer and hood. I would appreciate your honesty and any guidance you would have. Thank you

Hi there - I appreciate you watching and subscribing. It would all come down to whether or not you would think you would use the Air Fryer very often. If you think you'd use the air fryer enough, then I'd go with the Air Fryer Combo, but if you feel like you wouldn't use the Air Fryer very much, then I'd go with this model or the 36" Pro Series. I hope that makes sense. The Pro Series Models and the 36"/28" Air Fryer Combos are the best all-around Blackstone models, in my opinion. I get to use them all and those are my favorite choices for backyard use. If I could only buy one, and money was not an issue, I'd personally get the 36" Pro Series simply because I found I didn't use the Air Fryer enough to justify having it. The Air Fryer works incredibly well, but I found I did not use it as much as the griddle top so I passed it along to somebody else. I hope that helps. Again, the Air Fryer is incredible and some folks use the Air Fryer part of the griddle multiple times a week. I didn't though so that's why I would go for one of the other models I mentioned.
      God bless!
