Dave, Thanks for part2 I purchased the FDM-DUO after watching your first video. I was on the fence and your insight to the radio confirmed my purchase. Being new to Ham Radio I am glad I jumped to SDR and skipped the leaning curve to using conventional radios, however it has left me with quite some gaps in my knowledge base and your videos are helping close those up. Now I have the radio and software operational (by the way also purchased I5 nuc computer w/27" monitor what a joy). I am now trying to make the SW2 play with other software, I feel as if I have entered a pit with many beasts. I will get one peace working and the next night it won't. In PT3 if you could cover the SW2 settings for cat control, multiple virtual com and audio ports it would be greatly appreciated. I do have cw swimmer operational (I think), WSJT-X comes and goes, and clueless with FLDIGI (may have it working but clueless on operation). Thanks Bill KM6GZL

I opened a support ticket via the support website a week ago because I was unable to install the recommended firmware update for my newly purchased FDM-DUO. I immediately received a ticket number but have yet to receive a response from the support team. I can find no email address or telephone number for support so am at a loss as to how to proceed. Mark, thanks for the kind words. I have had some dealings with Elad support, and have had no problems. Which firmware are you trying to install? Did you follow the instructions in the DUO manual, for your version of windows, exactly. If it's xmt or rx firmware, the computer is not involved. The Yahoo group can be helpful as well. Dave W8KFJ
Dave - Thanks for responding. Yes, I followed the firmware installation instructions to the letter. No computer involved - plugged a USB thumbdrive directly into the transceiver via the appropriate port. The red LED did not light up. Instead, the green LED flashed, which, according to the instructions, means that the installation was unsuccessful and I should "contact ELAD support" - which I did on June 28. Am still waiting to hear from them. Not good customer service to keep someone waiting this long! Thanks again for being so generous in sharing your knowledge of the FDM-DUO via CZcams.
It's a general coverage radio, so it can receive them. You can transmit if you have the right bandplan for your country, which should have been installed if. You can download the correct bandplan as well.

I'm nearly sold on the FDM. The superior interface and capability make this a logical replacement for a long in the tooth Flex 1500.

I can't tell if this radio has 60m or 30m. I must just not be reading something correctly.
