Commercial crab season starts December 1. They drop pots 3 days prior. They dropped soakers last Sunday. However there are a lot of derelict pots out there. Always stay vigilant for bouys.

What’s next? I just bought a 21’ Seahawk and have it at our beach house near Tillamook Bay. I have no clue what I’m doing when it comes to bay and ocean fishing. I need more vids…or if you’re looking to coach someone, I’ll pay for boat and fuel😁
Tillamook is a great place for fishing the bay is awesome for salmon in the fall and the ocean has everything in that area
Just make sure you are cautious of that bar that bar it is extremely crazy at times
All the techniques on my videos will work for that area you just got to find the spots
Just chase the charter boats around for a while 👍

Rich, feel free to let the new owner know he can ping me on my RiverZZZ email if he has any Duck questions I can help with, mine is white but it should translate :) Kevin. To the new owner.... take it slow, drive only as fast as the speed you want to hit something at when in close proximity to objects, and neutral is your friend at the docks(you can still steer)bump in and out of gear, it took me a while to realize this as mine idles at about 4-5 mph due to the tuna props I run. get lots of time behind the wheel , I suggest some mid week runs to avoid the crowds while you learn, the bay is a nice flat place to learn with "less" current to contend with.
Hello Kevin, I appreciate your concerns. I totally understand the bumping of the throttle in and out to limit your speed. My Nautique idled a bit fast at times and I always had to bump the throttle while going through 5 mph birthing areas and during docking in high currents on the Delta river ways. BTW; I am planning to launch at the Charleston Marina Complex on my first adventure with this boat, mainly to get familiar with the electronic components and of course the handling and maneuvering of this Duck.
@@DadsEchelonTactical I have no concerns, you will be fine, just tips, don't hesitate to reach out with questions. I also had a river boat prior to my offshore 30, and it is very diff, can chat sometime if you want, in the meantime.. realize its is heavy (>10K#) and has a high profile.... I added a removable flag to the nose of my trailer to aide loading, and a ton of other tweaks. with time it will become easier, but don't underestimate it, it can cause a S___T ton of damage fast.. BUT, once out in the ocean you can relax (some:) ) redundancy is your friend ou in the deep blue (back up radios, electronics, batteries,etc.) oh and of course watch out for the other guys esp at the docks... I always leave someone on the boat as a push guard, my brother was waiting for me to get the truck and someone pitched their boat off the trailer but still had the motor travel shocks in so couldnt maneuver the boat now headed right at me... many more stories just like it.
Prawns and crabs you can do.ut when ever the government let's you get them. They're always out. On rocks you get rock crab in mud dugeon.

@@reel-grit Hey Jon your kinda correct. This Duckworth is my first Offshore Boat. My slalom skiing days comprised of a Malibu Skier and a 1994 Ski Nautique. Now its Drifting on the Umpqua and it won't be long I'll be launching out of Coos Bay and Brookings. Rich has always been my inspiration to get offshore! Hope to see ya out there.
