I got goosebumps listening to this guy and he is so right. We are seriously tired of people like Rajdeep , Prannoy Roy and the likes. Why are they even called Intellectuals? I live abroad and I see how much compassionate India really is in the bigger picture. Someone on Instagram who I was debating with on the current state of India asked me to watch this video. My take has always been "India can achieve so much. It has so much potential, but we keep being dragged behind. If the government is bad in executing laws, the people are worse in following them." I watched this video to understand why does India get such a bad reputation overseas. Everywhere you go, people relate India to being poor and Indians to being indisciplined and dirty. Now I'm slowly beginning to understand that our portrayal in foreign media has been biased and it's getting worse lately. I still believe India has a long way to go. But India is definitely not as bad as others say it is.
Many white foreigners who have friends & relatives in India are quite surprised by the quality of life of Indians, wrt to house, amenities etc. Unfortunately, the West is still fixated on cows, crowds, corruption, slums, sh*t and sadhus of India - that's what sells generally. The other image of India is on tourist brochures as an exotic luxury destination which is fit for kings /maharajas.
Agree to a large extent with your assertion. We mix objectivity with way too much emotion and need to first understand our heritage properly so as to be comfortable under our skin (as a society) to project a confident (not dominant) narrative out to the world. I suspect it will take at least a decade (half a generation in modern time).

The only qualm I've is that India needs to develop in terms of its cleanliness and public infrastructure like pothole free roads etc. When that happens people will automatically feel proud of their country and display it in their behaviour as well.

The host there is Jerome Anto a. Christian Sanghi😭👍The professor has been on a number of Indian channels. India Today is probably, as expected, very late in getting him.
