Ok seems like he has gotten away from the 1 year rentals ok understandable, so now my question is seems like there is a lot of db committed now ,not everyone is playing so stand by to see if they stay after this year? Yes I’m skeptical because of the 62 %that left from last years recruits!they definitely got some quality depth back there this year though!have you heard anything about where cooper &dawson have got intrest from?

As of right now we have 14 offensive lineman. One more away from having 3 strings of Lineman.. we have 8 DL and 7 edges so that’s 15 defensive line man.. we have plenty of depth on the line.. the only thing we need to add more depth in is LB and maybe one more proven safety… it’s important to stock up on skill players because those are the ones that will be on kickoff, kick return, punt, punt return. Having 20 offensive lineman on your roster really isn’t effective because you can’t utilize them in special teams other than field goal team so like 8 of them want have a role to play on the team other than pray the team hits a huge injury bug and end up going through 12 lineman to get to you…

I don’t understand the reasoning of adding so many players going into their last year of eligibility. Everyone can’t play and most if not all are expecting to play in their last year. It makes more sense to add players at depth who has multiple years of eligibility so they can grow and develop in your system. Just saying when I played our locker room understood who had now, who was in the wings and who the freshman were that were developing for the future. With so many 1 year of eligibility guys, it’ll create great competition but could create bad locker room vibes for the guys that lose out.
in College that's how it is, in football that's how it is, all you can do is your best, only a small percentage will make to the NFL, dear that's on every college football team, they know what there doing
@@speaklife7333 nahh I think you missed my point. I played college football. Players have expectations, not necessarily going to the league but guys want to play. What CU is doing is something completely new. Bring in a bunch of transfers with 1 year left and let the best men win, that’s not normal and never has been. Historically, programs were built with high school recruiting. High schoolers come in, compete and develop with the understanding of you perform your time will come. You knew the upperclassman who were there already had to be uprooted if you wanted that spot but the culture was you come in work, develop and your time will come long as you put the work in. The portal has changed a lot of that but still majority of programs hit the high school cycle more than the portal. As a former player, it’s just interesting to see how this would play out with so many incoming transfer guys that’s only there for 1 year and done. Essentially it appears CU has very little interest in developing high school talent and only wants 1 year mercenaries.
It just confuses me how we had interest on this young man but didn't even bother to pursue ponds out of jmu. Happy for this young man though !

We adding guys who have gotten no burn from the P4 level in Colton hood and R. Smith (I'm elated about those pick ups) but didn't even give ponds a call ? Crazy !
