I have pink tile in my bathroom. It's from the '50s. It's like a dusty mouth pink. The tile on the floor has the same shade of pink mixed in with other pink almost tan shades. The same pink tile is also on my bathroom counter which is about 6 ft long with a mirror the same length across the top. It also has white tile accents on the backsplash behind the bathroom counter. I have to repaint, but I'm having trouble deciding what color I want to paint because it's hard to match.

Instead of the pink paint I would have gone with a white wallpaper with a pink-outline floral. I think you’re right, though, the pink and blue does feel very 1990s hospital.
It’s interesting because we went from Victorian with carvings everywhere, cherry woods and emerald green with deep reds to loads of white, pastel colors in the 30s-60s and then brown and yellow and orange and green in the 70s, lots of white and blue in the 80s/90s, tan and browns in the 2000s, white and grey EVERYTHING around 2010-2018 and now everyone is doing a giant mix of almost everything old but somehow new at the same time with vibrant colors and funky shapes and people are going to buy their homes looking like it was used as a daycare, art museum or like someone in the famous world of fashion would live in. Lol

I see a lot of water damage in the future with no water barrier behind the tiles. Sure the Red Guard 100% will protect the screws but the cement board is has pours and will soak that water into the walls, insulation, and studs. Should have put a water barrier film like the Kerdi membrane. That cement board will hold mold too

Is good idea change color like You did around chandelier, is better... Also to still not be too blue and bring some warmth , and create little hidden color block effect.. I would paint with Pastel Green color tiny (like sage, etc.., olive) on Shelves edge. If you think that's possible?
I love adding pops of color. But personally, I would never do that with something as permanent as fixtures. I am still haunted by the blue fixtures I had in one of my old apartments that hadn’t been renovated since the 80s. (Yes, blue sink, tub AND TOILET)

Many people in America want the latest and greatest and will do whatever they want to just to get it even if it means demolishing perfectly good design. That being said, I do like the new design.

Ecologically it's disastrous for homeowners to be constantly tearing out perfectly good bathrooms and kitchens. It was beautiful already. The rainbow tiles look amazing but in general it's not very sustainable for homeowners to be doing this. A bathroom used to last for decades.
That first tile was nice. The replacement? Completely aweful. I can guarantee you tha they jus dropped their house value down and wll have a hard time selling the hluse because of those pretty much permanent yuckyness. And before anyone says anything....remember the 70's. Some homes still have the original shag.....in the bathrooms!

It's very very bad. If the homeowner ever wants to resell it is going to be hard. Paint isn't cheap and tearing out that hideous tile isn't either. Hard sell.

You know it's super easy to remove the top of the toilet. You just turn the tap off, flush heaps to empty it and undo two screws and it comes off.
So they changed elongated Pentagon's tiles to hexagonal tiles 😂😂😂...talk about first world problems😂😂😂😂😂😂
