💖 ABOUT ME:
Hi, my name is Jen I am 44 and live in Connecticut with my husband and 8 year old son. I am a stay-at-home Mom and full-time CZcamsr with a degree in business with a focus in marketing. Before leaving work when my son was born, I was a commercial lender at a bank. I also worked at Sephora and Macy's doing visual merchandising.
I have dry skin with some hyperpigmentation and fine lines. I love natural makeup looks but occasionally go outside my comfort zone a little bit. On my channel you'll find lots of videos about drugstore makeup and drugstore dupes (those are my favorites to film!) but I also review high-end makeup as well. I hope you enjoy my channel and if you do, please don't forget to SUBSCRIBE & leave me a comment!
I don't have any friends who are into makeup. Your channel is my refuge. Lol
Aww thank you! I didn't have any friends who were into makeup so that's why I started my channel! :)
Me too
I'm 66 and I have been into makeup since I was 12!
Haaahaa, SAME!
Me too or they've been wearing makeup so long they dont understand my stress 😂 50 and learning all over again
Jen, I don't think you get enough credit for your work. You always provide us with such informative videos. You are the only person I trust when it comes to makeup reviews. Not that I have anything against sponsored content, but I always appreciate it when someone voices their unbiased opinion. It's way more helpful this way. Also, your swatches and your comparison videos are always the best! 😊😊
Hers would be one of few Sponsorships I WOULD trust! ❤️❤️
I love the Lancôme stick foundation I have been using it since it launched on my 72 years young skin I also bought a darker color & use it as bronzer works great
Ohh that's a great idea to use it as a bronzer!
Wonderful I need to try this
Agree it stays on thru most anything and actually looks better thru the day as it melds even more into the skin without losing coverage or settling into lines or pores at all!
A++ rating!
I Have it aswell but I find it can be a bit patchy I use a brush to apply it. I'm conscious of disturbing the SPF underneath by brushing it out too much.
Omg! This is one I have kept p going back to over the years. So glad to see I mentioned!
If I had one word to describe your channel I'd say "educational" which I do so appreciate. I follow several makeup influences but feel I learn the most from you. Love the new foundation stick and rosy brown lip! Thanks so much Jen😊
I used to work for Lancôme- their stick foundation is the best- The Teinte Idol foundations are truly some of the best out there!
Girl your breaking my bank with all your videos 😂😂😂
Wahoo another video. I’m like the other lady, I don’t have any friends/family who are into makeup/skincare so I talk to you ladies. I’ve always wanted to try that foundation stick but I too have dry skin and just thought it would be thick and show more texture, now I’m going to have to try it, it would be excellent to travel with.👏👏❤️
I usually hate foundation sticks because they're too thick and look makeup-y on my skin but I couldn't believe how thin this one is! If you're in-store definitely try it on your hand...it's weightless.
@@JenPhelps I just looked and they have my shade in that stick, yes
Travel - that's a good point. It's a solid, not a liquid, so it wouldn't be subject to the liquids rule. The only thing is, I'm very pale, and I don't see a color that would work for me. Idk, maybe this is one of those products where you have to look at it in person.
@@20thcenturyrelic I ordered one yesterday on Mecari, brand new and the shade was the same in the bottle foundation I use. Hope it matches me.
@@BlingyBea I hope so. Idk, the 2 lightest shades look too dark for me on my monitor, but who knows, could be my monitor.
Seriously... I've been needing/ wanting a good stick foundation, something I could put on really quick before my long 12 hr work schedule at a Hospital. Lo and behold Jen once again came to the rescue! I just placed my order with a $10 off ULTA Birthday coupon! 🎉
Ooh that's awesome! Enjoy it!
Hi Jen I would love to see a video focused all on powder foundations.
The foundation stick was the 1st foundation stick I have ever tried, and on my 50 year old skin, it looked fabulous! I love that foundation!!! The only issue was because of how soft it is, I went through it quickly.
I'd love to try it, but my skin is oily. If it's soft, I'm thinking it might not last too long.
@mels7360 I'm oily as well, and unfortunately, it lasts only about 8 hrs. But it does look beautiful!
I love your safety pin earrings.
Running to get the Lancôme stick now! At 45 years of age I have always been afraid of sticks but you convinced me. Clicking your link now.
That foundation is truly lovely.
So glad you reviewed the tart vinyl’s. I have several of the original formula and now I know to just finish those up. Thank you 🙏🏼
Oh no I need to try that lancome foundation. (Too bad for my budget 🤣)
Jen, you look so beautiful! That Lancome foundation stick is amazing on you! You are so pretty without makeup! I watch your skincare videos and your complexion is glowing, radiant! 🥰
Wow!! As soon as you used that Lancôme stick foundation, I had to comment! That looked so gorgeous on your skin!! Impressed!
Your swatches are the best on social media
I have never had success with a foundation stick, but the Lancôme Teint Idole Foundation Stick looks amazing, and the liquid version is my favorite foundation I use anytime I wear makeup. I love how easily it spread on your face, and how well it blended in. I like the Buxom lip creams, and this serum looks interesting to try.
That ND palette is the equivalent of going onto The Price Is Right and winning...a toaster oven. Lots of anticipation and dreaming of her new release, and having it be... that....
Not wrong. Who's promoting that?
😂😂😂
WOW! as soon as you put on that first beautiful eyeshadow shade, I was sold! it looks so gorg!!!
I love to listen to you and I seem to gravitate to a few people only..I'm 65 and am totally obsessed with makeup and skin care..In my 20's 30's and 40 and most 50's I always had a tan and didn't use foundation but at my age now I am dealing with all the damage I did with the sun..but I am always looking for new makeup because I feel so many foundation look like a mask on me.. I love all makeup and need therapy ..But I love your dupes and overall everything you try out ...Thanks for all you do..
Aw thank you Sylvia!
I have much sun damage also...62 yrs...have you tried Tretinoin? You will need a script, but it works amazingly! Go slow! 😊
@@alicepirola7077Crazy you say Tretinoin.. I did try it but it works okay for me then all of a sudden I lost all my eyebrows from it..I stop using it and it has taken almost 7 months to get them back...so I have line above me lips so I only use it there...I tested it twice and both times I lost me brows..Crazy...Who Knew!!
@@alicepirola7077Hi thanks..I used Tretinoin and my eyebrows fell out...no kidding...they came back I used it again and they fell again...I have these lines above my mouth and I know it would help but I am going to move slowly and only do that area...I know Pampered Wolf had same issue...Crazy!!
I love that Foundation stick! Love the blushes! Love that bronzer. Thats not a ND Palette I would reach for. Love the original Tarte lippies! Love the Buxom! Everything I tried looked great! TFS! ❤❤
Yay for the LYS blushes! I love the stick bronzer. The Tarte lips don’t really impress me. I’m just loving the NYX Slick Clicks so much and they are way cheaper. 😊
I agree I love the new NYX ones!!
The one and only one who I follow and trust her reviews❤
tbh jen I've seen someone do a first impression of this pallet they used the bronzer for a transition shad they really built it up and it hardly showed pointless basically good to see a first impression by someone with a light skin tone xx
That foundation stick looks amazing 😊
LYS makes the most beautiful products. I love her pan cream blushes. 😍
Your eye brows look so beautiful 😻
I'm intrigued by the Glossier bronzer! I love the neutral/rosy tone and how subtle it is! I also have fair skin and while I don't wear bronzer every time I do my makeup, I much prefer a more subtle look. It's tough finding a subtle bronzer with a more neutral tone.
I will never understand why that foundation doesn’t have tons of buzz-it’s definitely one of my favorites!
I love my LYS blushes that came in the set of 3, so of course, I'm going to have to try one of the sticks!
I got the set of 3 too during the holidays and I love them!!
Hey Jen, for the Tarte vinyl maracuja the new ones have three different finishes: full coverage, shimmer and sheer. The sheer ones kind of look the same but the full coverage ones look completely different.
Oh Ty ❤
Ah thank you! I didn't even realize that!
@@JenPhelps 💓
The foundation stick looks really beautiful on your skin!!
I am so excited about that Glossier bronzer - LOVE the cloud pain blushes. And LYS, what a great, more affordable brand. I haven't tried their blushes yet so these sticks looks awesome. Blessings, Jen!
I love the Tarte juicy plumping. It’s a little tingle and great shine. The Buxom look interesting, I can see the shift.
I feel like blush and bronzer always lay down differently over bare skin as opposed to foundation. Maybe the products would apply more saturated in color over foundation. Just something to try!
Your sweater is so cute for spring 💐
The Lancome stick foundation is one of the best foundations ever. Maybelline is similar but with limited shade range. But that Lancome!!!!
The eyeshadow looks great on you. Love the buxom lippy and the bronzer.
I need to try that Lancome. Years ago I used to be a Lancome wearer but then moved away from it. I need to return.
I’ve been using the Lancome Stick for a while and it’s the only one that works well for my dry skin!! It’s what I reach for when I’m looking for something quick and easy! I swipe it in and buff it in quick with a big brush and it looks great!
Yay need some good fresh new makeup finds !
You look great in Sheer Lotus Jen! Glad to see someone testing out the new vinyl lip products. I had been wondering about those.
It's so funny. I just saw Emily Noel's review on the ND palette and she love it. She used the shimmers in her crease and they look like mat shadows once they were blended.
I love your channel and watched for many years. ❤️
Oh I am going tomorrow to grab the foundation stick! It looks incredible! I have extremely dry skin but this really looked amazing on you. 💜💜
I have dry skin. I love it.
@@kathybrou1340 thank you 😊
The Natasha Denona palette might just be the first full face palette I actually want to buy
Hi, Jen, thanks for the awesome video! I can vouch for the Lancome foundation stick on dry skin; it looks fabulous and wears well, never accentuates any dryness or texture. Good call!
Agree!
Love you Jen thank you for all your hard work ❤
Hey Jen! Love your channel!
Can’t wait for your review of the new NYX bronzers. They all look to have a pink or red undertone. Which I know you prefer pink!
I can't wait for those either! I was so bummed that they aren't for sale yet.
Whoa on the Glossier bronzer--love the color!
Foundation & bronzer are so seamless and smooth! I am sold!
Hi Jen, I love this video, I love the colours in your jumper ( sweater)on you, the Natasha Denona palette looks so soft and pretty on your, I love that Lancôme foundation stick, appears soft, effortless on your skin tone, LYS blushes are beautiful too,the Tarte juicy lipstick - rosey iris ? was my favourite. Love Katherine xoxo
My only complaint about the Lancome stick and any stick make up it is that it seems to just go so quickly💸💸. But I love the Lancome stick’s finish, for sure. I also am trying the Fenty stick and I like that one almost as well.
Love your videos Jen! thoroughly enjoy your reviews!!!
Thank you for another awesome video! 🥰😍
I enjoy you so much Jen! Thanks for talking about the Tarte lippies ❤️
Such a pretty smile. 😊
That ND palette had me curious too. Thanks for the review.
Absolutely loved this video, so many lovely products! Thank you for straying away from the typical drugstore brands. I’ve always loved Lancome, I can’t wait to try the stick foundation! I appreciate your honest reviews and high quality videos. 😀
Hi Jen, definitely gonna give that foundation stick a try. Thanks for testing it for us.
Love your sweater ! Compliments your complexion a lot
I’ve never tried the Lancôme stick foundation, although I will definitely be trying it now! I do LOVE the newer Fenty stick foundation/tint thing, though. I think that’s worth a try for anyone with mature/normal to dry, or even oily skin! It awesome! So easy, quick, smoothing and light/medium buildable coverage.
I love the skin like foundation stick and the palette colors are so very soft. I think you could have a lot of fun it. Thank you Jen for a wonderful video and I love to learn about new things.💗❤💕💕🤍🌺🌸💐
Well Jen - you've been a busy girl! A couple of questions for you: About the Natasha Denona multi-use palette, Did you use an eyelid primer under the eyeshadows? Or a glitter primer? It seems the lightest shade had lots of fallout. And about the Lancome stick foundation: Did you have any primer or sunscreen under that? And was there any fragrance? I'm just wondering if the application would be so smooth as I would typically use it. And, how does it compare to the Basma stick foundation? Both products have impressive color ranges, so the difference for me would be in texture, staying power and fragrance. The LYS Blush stick looks interesting, but I'm already in love with the compact cream formula, so...How do they compare? I'm guessing the stick has more sparkle. Thanks for putting yourself out there! And your naked skin is GOALS! Thanks for the video!
PS: The link for the LYS Blush Stick actually bounces me to the Glossier Cloud Paint Bronzer.
So many great questions!! I did not use any eyeshadow primer or base this time, and I didn't notice glitter fallout from just applying the shade, but when I wiped it off to apply the next colors, I did notice the glitters on my cheeks from the makeup wipe. I put the foundation stick directly over my skincare/sunscreen but did not wear primer. There was no fragrance at all and I haven't tried the Basma stick so I'm not sure how it compares. To me, the LYS stick blush feels really similar to the one in the compact...I wonder if it's the same formula just in a more convenient format? Plus it does have the glowy finish as well. :)
@@MyCleverHandle me too!
I luv the Lancome foundation stick… been using it for years
I de cluttered my Lancôme stick I continually try sticks because I wore and loved max factor pan stick for years but I haven't found one that doesn't look awful on me. I'm still willing to try the Fenty, because..... Makeup 😊
I wasn't interested in the ND face palette cuz its only for light ppl but Danessa Myricks has a wonderful one for all! 🙌😘
Yes that one looks awesome!!
Always more fun when new finds are wins..are the Tarte Vinyls similar to the TooFaced Vinyls from years ago..as those were I think thicker but enjoyed...
Wow Jen... everything is gorgeous!! Definitely adding the Lancome stick foundation to cart, if I can decide on a shade, & that Glossier Bronzer looks gorgeous...❤️🥰💄😘💋🙌🏻👑
Great reviews! I appreciate all of the time and effort you put into these videos 🙌🏼😃
I wasn’t originally interested in the new Natasha Denona palette because I didn’t want to buy a palette I wasn’t going to use all of it but I am now very interested in it! And the foundation stick! And as for the new Tarte formula, they came out with the shimmery formula in a non plumping formula which I’m thrilled about! ❤ thank you so much for all the reviews! I have so much to go check out now 😂
Angela Bright did a review and look with the Natasha Denona Palette and she did use the bronzer on her eyes.
I'm guessing you probably can but I'm guessing a lot of people didn't see that disclaimer on the back!
I also watched it.
Thank you Jen! I have wondered about the Lancôme foundation stick but I have always found foundation sticks thick and heavy too so I haven’t tried it. That’s about to change thanks to you 😅 I loved the video, thanks again ❤
Your skin looks absolutely flawless with this foundation and the whole look came together beautifully! ❤🎉
That eye look is stunning on you! That cloud paint, blush stick and foundation stick definitely look like something I would like to check out. I’ve been using the Tient Idole concealer since it came out and love it.
Passssss on that ND but maybe need to try the foundation!
Jen, I am in love with your gorgeous sweater! ❤😅
I was trying really hard not to want the ND palette but now, well I might have to get it ❤. You make everything look so effortless 😊
I don’t like the cheek colors otherwise I might of been tempted.
Honestly I'm confused by the Natasha Denona palette - her eyeshadow palettes are vibrant and really cater to makeup lovers (plus the $$ price point) and I just can't picture someone who only wants a subtle 'everyday' palette getting it from Natasha Denona 🤷♀️ Love your videos so much Jen! ❤
I think she's probably just trying to cater to everyone and people who like no makeup makeup are a different category for her to reach with this palette. 🥰
I ADORE Buxom lip products, yes, I bought theee right away and I love them!
I can’t wait to see more looks with ND palette. I hope we find out an answer about using the bronzers for contouring the eye because I was looking forward to using the palette that way. I am working on my Sephora cart for the April sale.
I’ve been wanting to try the Lancôme stick foundation.
This was a great video! I love the foundation stick on you. I’ve never really liked the sticks but I want to try this. Everything looked beautiful ❤
I've always hated most foundation sticks but it really is beautiful!
Jen I just got stick foundation today and you are right absolutely easy to put on and love the look and coverage...my new favorite I got your color and ordered a lighter one but think I will need darker one instead...I hate when that happens!!🥰😘
Everything looks do good !!!! 😮❤ Thanks for the reviews! If the Lancome foundation stick wasn't reformulated, this was a product created by Lisa Eldridge when she was the director of Lancome beauty in France. I used this foundation for a few years and now i want it again 😊
Hi Jen, I am definitely going to pick up that Lancôme Idol foundation stick. I don’t have a foundation stick in rotation right now and I need one. It looked gorgeous on you! I will also check out the new Glossier bronzers. I definitely think it will come in handy in the upcoming warmer months. I also liked the Buxom lip serums. I own the Dolly lip liner so the serum in the same shade would be a no-brainer for me. Thanks so much for taking the time in putting this video together for us! Have a good week! 😊
I’m glad the tarte lips looked like they did on you compared to the swatches on Tarte. They were goopy looking, but in reality they look nice!
They're goopy if you use a lot, but with a thin layer, they're much better!
You look so stunning lately! Always pretty, but some extra pretty going on!❤
Great video as always! I have even less interest in the ND palette now😂. It just doesn’t excite me. Although if the shade “Dreamy” was a single, I’d probably get that!
I just finished the Lancôme stick foundation. While I agree with your assessment of its texture and appearance, I must say I feel it is overpriced for the amount you get. I went through it much faster than any liquid foundation, and the brush is useless. Lancôme could ditch the brush and put more product in the container, but I know that won’t happen. I worked as a MUA for them for 20 years.
I’m a CCRN and the Natasha palette is absolutely perfect for me! We aren’t allowed to wear much makeup and this seems perfect for me.
Those buxom plump shots, I just got the celestial nude shade, too! It seemed so pretty! I did swatch some different lip glosses in my hand in the store and then decided on that one. As soon as I got to the car I had to put it on! It took a couple minutes, but then it started to burn so bad! You couldn’t even notice the shade of the lipgloss because my lips got so red and irritated, and they did get a little swollen, definitely a plump effect!!! And then For the next couple hours I noticed I had a red spot on my hand that was so irritated, it was where I swatched that lipgloss! I’ve tried to wear it again since, but it’s the strongest burning lip plumper I own and it’s just a little too much for me. But it definitely plumps, no doubt about that!
Love all your videos! You are such a big help concerning products! ❤❤❤
Have you ever tried the hourglass stick foundation? I absolutely love it! It looks fantastic with a good skincare underneath
I look forward to your long term review of the N.D. palette; I am on her early list for new products, I fell in love and of course purchased! I had some buyers remorse while waiting to receive it, there seems to be a lot of hate on this beautiful palette! I think you and I have a lot of similariaties with skin tone, eye color and degree of hooded eye; with that said I often look to you for applications of palettes we agree on, you have actually made me love eyeshadow again! Thank you for doing all the leg work, you have both saved me money...and caused me to splurge! I love your content!
I would definitely be interested in updates to see what you are still loving.
Great review Jen I love Natasha Denona eye shadow for sure I’m getting that one thanks for the vice! And I love Lancôme have you ever tried the powder foundation duo finish by Lancôme? I have been using it for years I use it as a no make up make up I just tap a bit on my face and it gives me coverage the trick is not to over do it and it looks flawless like skin I recommend that powder! I used the shade 090 or the 100 either one works for me those are the lightest.
I love Lancôme foundation on my mature skin! I haven’t tried the foundation stick, though.
