Dude’s literally Asian. Asian people aren’t all porcelain white, in fact, almost none of them are, which is why skin bleaching creams are so popular there (also because of their own beauty standards being pretty unattainable so plastic surgery is booming there too). Also Korean people are also often pretty dark, see Kai from EXO or sth

@@eo0-g9j it’s not that all Koreans are pale but them still choosing these lighter products even if their skin is darker that this CZcamsr’s. There’s little to no demand in Korea for natural and darker tones because the beauty standard is pale skin and they would be choosing tones that would make their skin look like that even if it’s obvious that this shade doesn’t match their natural skin colour.

@@danikahholdman2609 Asian markets in general are very homogeneous. The cultural makeup of that market is not very diverse at all compared to, say, North America or Europe where brands need wider ranges to suit the most people. When brands based in East Asia want to specifically target the East Asian market it's rare to find even a medium tone since most people will have fair skin or purposefully use lighter shades.
Why would a small business catering to specifically Korea make a 50 shade Fenty Beauty line when 40 of those shades may only sell a couple dozen units? The fact that they are willing to even go to a light medium shows that they're willing to at least start developing for Koreans who may be a bit more tan

There's nothing wrong having darker shades. But people should know it's a Korean brand with majority of their people having fairer skin or favors the paler skin compared than the ones that are outside of their country. And if they actually want some global recognition, they need more darker or more range in shade than just targeting their original fairer or paler consumers.
And people need to understand that brands will only listen to their consumers when they are being in demand in the long run. Therefore, the range or shade will still depend towards what's in demand needs whether they are not listening or not to consumers requests.

I LOVE THAT THEY EXSPANDED THERE SKIN TONE ik since I’m literally shade anemic Dracula it doesn’t affect me but STILL it’s a win cause what if one day I decide to get a tan

I've been in Tokyo and Osaka trying to find this product, but all I found are the original 3 shades. NO store has anything darker than shade 23. I'm about to head to Seoul. Hopefully, I'll have better luck

whats funny about this foundation is that the lightest shades are quite dark!! which is so odd for a korean cushion brand because im used to the lightest colors being straight up toilet paper white. im naturally pale-light with neutral slightly leaning towards warm and ordered the 21n which is the second lightest shade and it was WAYYY too dark and far too yellow. i then got the 17c (supposed to be a pale shade with cool undertones) and when i swatched it it had an even more extreme yellow undertone and still a really dark shade??? i really love the consistency of this foundation and the coverage but they need to definitely need to work on the shade range on both ends of the spectrum.

im honestly so done with people saying “its a korean brand why would they have darker skin shades” as if darker skinned koreans aren’t incredibly common. and im not talking medium sand shade i mean like TAN TAN skin. when did we start seeing inclusivity as a bad thing

Ohhh I wonder if 29 works the same in the other brands that carry that many shades. I always want to go for 25 or 27 but they seem off... I need to check 29.

That’s awesome that they made it right, but it’s still crazy how brands basically make darker shades the planned second release. I mean, this specific case is kinda different because their main market was Korea, but even American brands seem to be like “oh it’s okay, we’ll come out with inclusive shades next year. You’re welcome!”
