I only understand snippets, to the general annoyance of my Spanish teacher no doubt, but it sounds less serious to me as well. No less truthful though
I was thinking the same as I watched and read along. I thought their tone and them laughing could be a hint at how this isn't necessarily some kind of diss. Spanish can be hard to translate simply into words.
You can tell from body language and the smiles that its not something to take too serious, I can't speak Spanish but I can tell Alonso is just have a bit of fun.

What Alonso said is true statement during conversation, LH is a great driver from inside F1 but outside, he tend to be someone else and his unusual attitude and behaviour doesn't get along side with anyone in the paddock.

This comment section proves that the Lewis Hamilton hate is so forced. Even when he chooses to be silent and isolates himself so he gives people nothing to talk about, the see it as him having an ego when they’ve never met the guy in his life to even come to that conclusion in the first place.
He doesn't isolate himself so people have nothing to talk about. It's not that deep. I used to be like that. I didn't want to talk to competitors in any sport. I also think Lewis has a paranoia that a lot of the grid and paddock have hated him for years when it's only been since he started being very egotistical and confrontational since he started winning championships. It's a real shame he used to be like a more mellow and sophisticated Lando Norris but now he has made himself the Grinch.

I think many here forget that driving F1 cars is Lewis’s profession, it’s his job. There are no rules stating you have to be friends with your competitors and for somebody as focused on the task like Lewis is, I wouldn’t expect him to be friends. He shows professional courtesy and manners where needed but past that, he keeps himself to himself and rightfully so.
Just because the rest of the field are all BFF’s, doesn’t make Lewis an outcast. Not to mention, being at the top and staying at the top is a very lonely place to be anyway, this can be said for any solo sport tbh.
Remember, when representing Mercedes and F1, his job is to race and promote the brand, nothing else.
Outside of F1, he can do what he likes, make friendships with whom he likes, support the causes he is passionate about and wear subjectively questionable clothing when and how he likes.
I agree lewis can do whatever he likes, but not socializing with any of your co-workers and isolating yourself from them is exactly what it means to be an outcast.

I think Lewis understood from the beginning he was on his own. For example his teammates home country dressing up in blackface and holding insensitive signs. Yet Alonso did nothing to try support his teammate and condone that type of hate from the fans.

I've been an Alonso fan for a long time, but even I can admit how back in 2007 Alonso was a diva wanting to be the first driver since the very beginning of the season, he was the one isolated at the top back then.
Alas, McLaren didn't help much either the way they tried to handle the situation, leading to the polemic.

Alonso also had a tough year and was battered to bits in McLaren with the British favourism and the media talking shit of him all the time. Still drew with Hamilton. If only McLaren had fo used on him he would be champion again. Hamilton himself said that Alonso is the greatest driver of his generation and the scariest guy on Sunday. If you think you know more than Hamilton on the matter then you are free to go. The entire paddock, who knows a lot more about f1 than me and you could ever imagine, regards alonso very very highly. He was widely considered from 06 to 14 the best in the world. Not the quickest qualifier but definitely the best Sunday driver I have seen in years. When Hamilton who should hate alonso says something like that, then you know Fernando is something else. And maybe that's why he gets in so many of you guys head's and causes you to go girl hate mode crazy when you see his name. Like literally, he lives rent free in your head or something. @@pepsiaxe2937 The team wanted to work with Fernando and they worked for him during all the season but since when the spygate comes and the hungary qualifiyng clash the team decided to let Fernando alone in the rest of the season and to work for lewis when the 2 drivers were separated by only 2 points in the championship, fernando was not help as well by the fact that it was only his first year with the bridgestone tyres in difference of lewis who he drove with those tyres in pratically all his career before f1, even on the final grands prix ron dennis said to the media that they are more against fernando than against ferrari and that says everything.

Yeah. I think the last real f1 friend he had was Rosberg, and even then, their relationship became quite sour from 2014 onwards. Nowadays he doesn't seem to have a proper f1 friend.
Nobody likes a winner for too long, and he has been dominating for so many years now that people were just cheering to see him fall. Look at vettel from 2014 onwards. For all hamilton fan boys who are angered by Fernando, remember it's just a PR event and he isn't saying things much seriously and is saying more so in a joking manner. But the fact that hamilton has isolated himself from the rest of the grid is true. You can see on the pre-race track tour bus that he doesn't talk to anyone apart from his teammate bottas, or just listens to music.

@@TMT_Rocket I still think Merc has an edge on other teams as far as car goes. But if Ferrari are not bullshitting the public, then Leclerc/Sainz will be fighting for the title. They have been developing that car for years now and have sacrificed 2 seasons for it. They also have advantage of more testing time compared to RB and Merc. Will be very interesting to see pre-season testing.

Alonso winning 2 titles vs a 7 time world champ who's the rightfull goat in comparable machinery, and spending his whole career, exept Renault 2005 2006 and McLaren 2007, in p2 or p3 cars or far worse, and was and still is outdriving the car. You can hate him as much as you want, Alonso had 5 WDC potential he finish second to Vettel 3 times, and that redbull was almost untouchable He also equaled Hamilton once. Alonso even said it, Hamilton isolated himself, not the other way around. Out of the few glimpses of Hamilton’s personality that we’ve gotten, he seems like a nice chill guy, so there would be no reason for the other drivers to intentionally outcast him. At the end of the day, we can’t see inside his mind or thought process, so we can only speculate (which is kinda pointless anyway but yea). Who knows, he might not want to make friends with his competition after what happened with Nico, the possibilities are endless.
