Hi Mary! Thank you for such an informative video! I'm planning on applying to the DCP for Spring 2021, and the BBB is one of my top roles. I was wondering: Do you have to have a cosmetology license to work at the BBB/Pirate's League? If not, did most of your co-workers during your DCP have a license of some kind/lots of make-up & hair experience? I do have lots and lots of experience working with children (as a teacher, babysitter, summer camp counselor, etc.), but I've never done hair and make-up in a professional setting. Do you think I'll have a chance of getting this role without professional make-up/hair experience? Your insight would be greatly appreciated!
Hey!! Do you know if you’ll be at Disney Springs or Magic Kingdom yet?
Ally Campbell my location is Disney Springs for starters but I think I am able to pick up shifts at the castle too!! I’ll keep y’all posted on that :)
Mary & The Mouse awesome!! I’m so happy for you! I ask because my nieces are both having a makeover in the castle this March and it would be so awesome to see you and say hi!
So at my school you can intern a teacher and be like a student helper to elementary teachers (that also means tutoring the kids/helping them with school work during class) so next year I am going to intern full year for the elementary choir instructor and then for a semester I'm going to be a student helper for one of the teachers. Do you think I could put those two things on a resume and would it look good? I also am involved in my local theater so I do a lot of stage makeup/hair and acting. I would really like to have this role but since these things are not jobs I don't know if they count.
Hello I was wondering if there are any former Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique that would come to my hotel to give my daughter & son the same experience.
Amazing do you know how to do the princess bun
will you also work at pirates league? or are they two separate roles?
For your initial acceptance, it is either of the two. But then when you get your role reveal, you will get one location or the other!
Once you apply for the DCP, when you get notified for getting accepted, does it say what role you are in?
Thank you so much for making this video!!
Did you apply the applications dropped? I applied about a day or two after...I hope by the time I’m inconsideration for the role it will still be available 😅
I did apply that day but didn’t do my phone interview until a few days later. I wouldn’t worry!! You will do great :)
Could you do a video about tips for the WBI?
Hello again!! I will try to do a video about the WBI!! My biggest tips would be to answer with strong opinions-meaning to answer with “strongly agree” or “strongly disagree” (or whatever format the options are in) rather than selecting the options towards the middle of the spectrum like “neutral”. :) I also tried to answer questions consistently, if they asked about the same sort of situation more than once. I tried to convey that I worked well as an individual but also worked well in a group (teamwork) in my answers!! I hope this helps a little for now!! :)
Do you think if you're applying late for the DCP (I'm currently setting up the PI for the Fall 2019 semester, and apps close this Friday), do you still have a chance of getting a role in BBB?
I don’t think so! I know a girl who got accepted in the very last wave for BBB :)
Mary & The Mouse thanks so much for replying! I got accepted for Fall 2019 as a bus greeter, and I’m super excited!!!
Is having experience with makeup and hair necessary for the role?
Kaeli Harris I would say both of these are helpful in getting the role, however I think the hair experience is going to come in handy the most. The makeup they do at the boutique is veryyyy minimal, the main focus is the hair and it can be challenging especially at first. I would say that a lot of the girls who get this role have experience in theater, theater hair/makeup, etc but there were some without very much experience that also got this role.
As a licensed cosmetologist from another state, do I have a better chance of getting the role? It sounds so cute!
Yes most definitely!!
Goodluck!
