  • Understanding that 231 had become the "goto" formation for Academy teams on the path to 4231 at 11-a-side, we explore how we can use 321 to exploit the spaces left in a 231 and create overloads in the right areas.
    (Sorry if I hadn't / don't reply to your comments quickly, I really didn't think so many people would watch the video.)

    This plan looks unbeatable when only one team moves...

      LOL ... that's so true ! ! ! !
      The trick is to teach your team to move together and understand the roles and responsibilities of each and everyone so that you can be synchronized. Teamwork makes the dream work!
      Hopefully, the video helps to give a clearer picture to those learning the formation and the jobs of each position. You'll obviously have to add your own "je nais se quois" to the detail to make it work.

    Nice analysis. I find 3-2-1 a really good way of dealing with 2-3-1. Does tend to make you a little deep though and getting up the pitch can be tough. You need a really strong, mobile striker to make it work well otherwise you're basically holding off the opposition and playing on the break.

      I tend to agree, any time you place more places at the back, getting forward becomes tricky. I think considering it more as a 3-3 formation and ensuring the rotation of the front 3 is key here. (sorry for the late reply)

    Can you make some videos about the weaknesses as well as strengths of 7v7 formations and strategies . please

  • @toddhawkins245
    @toddhawkins245 Před 5 lety +5

    Not a bad strategy, but in the 2-3-1, my weak side back is taught to engage off-ball side mid and my weak side mid plays withdrawn for support and counter. My strong side (left) back is my strongest player technically and tactically. My forward has speed, strength, and good technical skills 1 v 1 so I am going to punish this alignment provided my rotation is solid in the back.

    So many more natural diamonds in a 2-3-1 and be able to promote positional awareness and natural possession at a young age

    • @totalfootballschools
      @totalfootballschools  Před 2 lety

      100%! From a development perspective, 231 is the best in my opinion. I would then consider 321 as development on top of that whereby the center mid drops into a back three creating a rotation of positions. It's also "horses for courses." :) (sorry for the late reply)

    Question, which formation is better for having ball possession and controlling the game? Also, which one is more defensive? I’m playing with a few friends of my on soccer 7v7, but we are all fat and can’t run much. So I’m looking for a formation that can give us good ball possession while making us strong in the back

    • @tomascalapez4991
      @tomascalapez4991 Před rokem

      if you don't want to run it's better to play the 3-2-1 but the fullbacks would have to stay back, having 3 in the back 2 CM would make it easier to pass the ball around

    • @totalfootballschools
      @totalfootballschools  Před rokem

      I would say this 231 formation gives the best "spread" & therefore satisfies the attacking principles of play the best. However, I have been rethinking and developing an idea with a 321 formation and plan to make a new video around this. The usual trouble with 321 is that encourages high pressure on yourself and becomes very difficult to "get out".

    Get rid of the music and maybe explain what is going on. Just a fast paced bunch of numbers swirling around the screen, pretty much useless.

    • @totalfootballschools
      @totalfootballschools  Před 5 lety

      Visual (✓), Aural(✓), Verbal(x), Physical(x) I think "it's useless" might be a little dramatic. Would you prefer something like this czcams.com/video/8cwkBsssGoI/video.html ?

    • @Shuloch
      @Shuloch Před 3 lety

      @Andrew Manuel PALACIOS TANTAS No this video does not explain anything, just random numbers sliding across the screen with no explanation as to what is going on or why it is happening. By the way Kudos for digging up a 2-year-old comment.

    • @Shuloch
      @Shuloch Před 3 lety

      @Andrew Manuel PALACIOS TANTAS I'll try this again. I understand just fine, which is why I had absolute confidence in my OP. You even proved my point for me, people who know A lot will get it, but people coming to learn won't. So thanks for 100% proving me right, and 100% proving you are an idiot for digging up a 2-year-old post. Also please if you are going to come at me, please go take a trash-talking course or something, cause the attempt was laughable. There are literally thousands of comparable videos that actually explain what is going on, why it is going on, and what you can expect from doing what they are showing on the screen. This video as a way to teach and/or learn soccer is trash, I'll stand by my original assessment. In fact, there are only 27 comments and 22 people liked mine so guess I am not the only one that was completely underwhelmed.

    What if there is offside? There is offside where I play.

    • @totalfootballschools
      @totalfootballschools  Před 6 lety +1

      ... and this key to truly exploiting the rules. Most seven a side tournaments don't play offside. However, the tactics would be very similar, but in a condensed field of play due to the rule.
