Best video I've ever seen. I am having an issue with me 2010 silverado1500 4x4 5.3. First it just went to no crank no start. With code P1682 so I put ignition switch and tumblers in. Then went crazy with crankshaft position sensor, low circuit temp, U0100 and U0109. I just learned how to completely test my truck. I will be commenting soon to thank you again.
Great troubleshooting, I'm working on a 2012 Silverado 2500HD, am not a mechanic but have many years of industrial electronics experience and I have the same "Alldata"? schematics along with correct probes and test equipment. Your MOST important point is to disconnect the vehicle battery BEFORE doing anything, no one wants "Card Fryer" added to their name. Again, a well thought out and documented presentation troubleshooting wiring/components on an automotive network, GMLAN in this case but your logical approach is valid for all others...
Awesome video and explanation, just super informative. Thank you so much for sharing the information as well as showing the level of detail. This also helps explain lengthy labor costs related to repairs.

Excellent video, thank you! I am chasing an intermittent U-code problem with a 2018 Yukon. I have a much better idea of how to break this problem into pieces and isolate the network segment(s) that are the most likely based on the error code clusters I am seeing. Thanks a LOT!

Sir, this is a great on the job, no special tools, instruction. When you are a Mom and Pop service, when you are mobile service, this is the way it's done and it is very much appreciated. Now, if I could borrow a cup of flexibility for my body I would really appreciate that also.
Thanks for this video I have a u0100 ebcm code. No lights on just showing up on the system scan. Hope i can find the problem with the help of this video.
Did the trailer brake controller throw a code on the DIC? My 2019 HD is throwing a service trailer brake on the DIC and service engine light is on. Took it to Autozone and scanner only shows fuel pump communication loss yet engine starts fine. Not sure if this could be the same issue with mine. I changed the trailer brake controller and the module above the spare tire and still no change.
The vehicle in the video was older and did not have a DIC. If you’re getting a TBC fault AND. you have a loss of of comm with FPCM you have comm bus problem between the ABS module and the FPCM. Check the connector at the FPCM. You’ll need a wiring schematic but you want to check for power, ground, 2 comm lines and a wake up signal. If you have those. Check the pin fitment. If the female pins get spread too much they won’t have a good connection to the male pin. Do you have 60 ohms on the can bus?
Very good diagnostics. I'am troubleshooting a 2000 c5 vette u codes 1016,u1064,& u1301 have cleared all, the u1301 & u1016 where (H) History codes & did not return, the u1064 (Loss of communication w/BCM) returns after a drive cycle. Also the U1128 (Loss of communication w/Radio returned a week late. It's been a journey but after seeing this I'am Diggin in. Best, G. E.
Hello im having problems with my 2015 silverado im getting a u0073 ebcm communication fault but im getting 60 ohms at the aldl could it be the module itself is bad no abs light have replaced wheel speed sensors, but im still having the fault and poor performance
@@jordyreyes4495 For my suburban it ended up being a faulty ESC (electronic suspension control) module. I had an intermittent no start start and intermittent no com from the obd2. Gauges acted wild, door locks cycling, etc. I ended up just disconnecting the ESC module instead of replacing it and it works dandy now. If you have the electronic suspension the ESC module wouldn't be a bad place to check for issues.

Is it possible that the junction box acts up intermittently? I was getting about 98 ohms with it connected then when I disconnected it I’m getting about 120 ohms I’m not able to jump the wires like you did I just connected my multimeter to pin six and 14 where you would connect, your scan tool
