Painting Wet Sand Reflections in Watercolour | Moonset at the Beach | Loose Expressive Landscape

- Let's paint a full moon beach scene - this was inspired by one of my trips to Byron Bay, NSW, Australia. Belongil Beach is a beautiful place to be at any time of the day. But there is some special kind of magic in the sky when the full moon is setting above the hinterland just as the sun is about to rise from behind the easternmost point of the Australian mainland - Cape Byron.
In this watercolour scene, I am creating the twilight sky and the reflections of it on the wet sand at the beach.

Very beautifully done and quite different from your usual semi-abstract style of painting landscapes. I love both approaches, but I'm more comfortable with this one at the moment. Your explanations in the captions are very helpful, thank you.
Thank you so much. It is slightly different - I do not use reference photographs often but when I do I enjoy not having to think about the composition! It can be quite relaxing. And I think switching between styles/approaches once every while helps us grow as creatives.

On a side note, I’m curious about where you got the block to keep your painting at an angle.
Thank you so much! That little support for my paper block has a funny backstory - it was part of the packaging our new washing machine came with 😁 I saw it and thought it was perfect for my studio. I think they are called cardboard corner protectors. Something very similar can be made by folding cardboard into a prism shape and taping it together.
AAH enfin video normale !! Les videos Shorts sont si petites 4 cm sur ma tablette que je ne vois qu’un petit bout de vos tableau ( le bout du pinceau etc....c’est ralant ! Je me suis desabonnée de plusieurs youtubeurs à cause de ça... (des videos de 4 cm sur ma tablette au lieu d’une de 15 cm 1/2....y a pas photo !))

in my opinion there is too much gouche at the end. I liked your painting most when it was soft , like about 11:50.
