- Audi Engine Start Button Retrofit. Start Your Engine With Push To Start. Before & After Retrofit
Now first off, this isn't a How-To Retrofit but more of the difference between before and after on an Audi SQ5. This vehicle has MMI 3G but the customer has always wanted a Push to Start button in his vehicle.
Using all Genuine Parts we supplied & fitted the new red button. Due to the vehicle having MMI 3G the new fascia panel to accommodate this button is horrifically expensive so we located a 2nd hand panel from a Crashed Damaged vehicle at the request of the customer!
The result is awesome and now allows the customer to start and stop the vehicle easily :)

If you’re putting the key into the key slot then why not just start with the key?
Lmaooo I asked the same thing dude, this customer must be a special one 😂😂 they make plenty of modules to where you can install professionally for roughly 200/300$ for the kit the panel you would have to buy separately though.
@@Aesthetics622do you know where I can buy it Idek why my 2015 a4 didn’t come with push to start
Absolutely 100% pointless. Not the fault of the installer. Just pure waste of money by the customer.
cramesor1 totally waste of money
I've always had a subtle respect for the 1st owner of my RS4 B8.5 Avant (I'm the 2nd). They spec'd it so well. It must've cost them a real premium back in '14. I always wondered why they didn't go for the cool factor of a start/stop button. No it makes perfect sense. What's the point of putting the key in and being right there to start and then moving your hand to a whole other area and pressing a button. That would actually get really old for me quite fast.
@@AlgorhythmKid funny after four years I couldn’t remember what this was all about. At that time I had a 2010 S4 that had a key push to start. That has since been totaled and now have a 2016 S4 that has keyless entry and push to start.I will say what a beautiful thing that is.
Could you post a video of how you did it?
I have the same car. I have the button and trim. But was unable to get it to work. What did you tap into? Did you have to do any coding or add relay?
Doesn't make sense if you still have to put the key in... but good job..
@Ry & Tay buddy you have to buy the complete kit with module and harness to make it keyless, this customer
Is just a cheap ass that downy want to spend around 300$ for the full push start kit
As someone with a B8 and another car with keyless entry and start. That is the most pointless mod ever. Like it is easier to just press the key.
Literally!🤣. Having to still put the key in is pointless
The cables for the wiring???
so where did you connect the wiring from switch to??????
Where did you order the new panel from? for Audi A4 B8 2008 please
Will that work for an Audi A4 b8 without start button? Just key entry ...Any coding or harness needed ?
I have a 2014 Canadian Cabrio A5 Quatro with a redundant FOB slot. Actually I should call it an emergency key slot. I don't have to insert the FOB into it to start the car, I just put one foot on the brake pedal and depress the factory installed start/stop button situated near the gear shift lever. I just leave the key in my pocket and the girls just have to leave the key in their purse/handbag to enter the vehicle or to start the vehicle. The only time the key slot is used is if the battery in my FOB is dead. In that case I get a plastic Gizmo that is the same shape as the FOB out of the glove box, insert a plastic emergency key that I keep on my key ring into the gizmo, insert the gizmo into the FOB slot, depress the brake pedal, and press the gizmo to start. Presto, so modern, just like a cheap Plain Jane 21st century, Ford, Chev or Dodge. Why the Germans insist on using this old fashioned technology, including their overly complicated voice commands if available at all, and manually selected, knob controlled navigation systems is beyond me. Another subject. You can use the emergency FOB/KEY until you replace the battery. Oh, keyless entry won't work with a dead battery, so you'll have to extract the metal key from the end of the FOB to unlock the door/trunk. I love the car so I put up with the overly complicated non-user friendly crap. I had a 2012 Lincoln MKX, which had all the bells and whistles. I could drive 4,000 miles across Canada and do everything with voice commands without ever taking my hands off the wheel. Wiper speed, headlights, navigation, enter address or city, dial phone, select and dial phone from memory, receive texts on dash screen, temperature up or down, fan high or low, air conditioning on or off front or rear, or adjust temperature, radio on, select channel, select USB or MP3, select artist, select track, select CD and track, increase or decrease volume, turn on/off rear window defogger, turn on defrost on windshield. Gee, there must be something I forgot. In a nutshell, one should get all this on an Audi if they have it available without robbing you blind. Maybe they should just admit that if they bought Microsoft from the yanks they too could enter the 21st century.
Can you do a auto start stop retrofit
works with the key by approximation ?
I have a 2009 with no power, the key fob isn’t recognized and the hazards switch doesn’t work either. Also the high beams switch has no power any ideas would be helpful
Well that's not really per factory specs is it my a5 just has to have the key in the car and the start stop button functions
hi, do you have a tutorial to add the Start and Stop button on Audi S4? because I can not find any video and even less in French! thank you very much and great video by the way
No there is no tutorial as it’s a very involved / difficult installation and as such not suited for DIY.
I do not want to do any DIY, I would like an original assembly that's why I'm looking for a complete explanation of the assembly, in France Audi does not want to do it as an aftermarket. thanks anyway
Thx for not showing shit on how to replace the cover
Can do that on Q2?
does it work on an audi a1?
The customer clearly has more money than sense. What an utterly pointless mod.
How will that cost ??
It costs $40
So whats the point?
Coding?
This is the most pointless install I've ever seen. You've just created an extra step now in starting the vehicle.
Pointless
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 keyless start all you have to do is put your key in the the ignition don't start the car reach all the way down to your center console and then push that button in .
It's is stupid stupid 😅
Utterly useless......
if it's not keyless it's just stupid and pointless
Why have keyless entry, then once seated, try to dig into you pocket to find a key fob to insert in a hole. Stupid.
Not even worth it
