For those wondering it's connection to the game Halo:
November 2020, Mike was asked, "There was a Linkin Park demo called "Halo", it appeared on Underground X. Did you do it for a Halo video game soundtrack?" He answered, "No, we didn't do it for them, we were just playing a lot of Halo. And demos always needs names, so we just named it "Halo." It had nothing to do with that."
Linkin Park never appearing in a Halo game OST stings, especially when Breaking Benjamin got to be in Halo 2.
would be awesome if Halo had some music of Lp, in game or trailer. LP has a futurism military vibe, would be perfect. I am fan of both and always imagined they together

baffles my brain a song like more the victim got vocals but this didnt. That chorus is BEGGING for chester
LPUX was a perfect compilation, possibly the best LPU CD ever released. Both Unfortunate and Halo are perfect as the opener and the closing chapter, respectively.
This song takes me back to the early 2000's even though it wasn't released back then.
Being a demo never meant for public release, it's focused more on mood and being emblematic of a style rather than being radio-friendly. Because of this deliberate focus on capturing a mood, and being composed by artists who were making popular music at the time, the end result is something perfectly reflective of the era and genre it represents, even if none of us ever heard it when it was written.
I was just commenting the same thing that hearing these unreleased songs from 20 years ago brings me back to the early 2000’s brooo wtfffffffff

I played so much Halo while listening to LP in the early days. Blasting Meteora and Reanimation while fighting the Flood was a viiiiibe 🥰

i love how Mike mixes such unusual and varied sounds into the music. Like what is that clanging? Glass, coins, spurs? Who even knows. It sounds really cool though.
It truly is a damn shame that this track wasn’t developed further. It had the makings to be one of their best.
Mike went back and listened to it on his livestream, criticising the loudness of the guitar harmonics and the riffs for being unimaginative.
@@jedley01 That is crazy. I find this track far more compelling than anything that they have done since MINUTES TO MIDNIGHT. I can even hear the rap verses and chorus vocal harmonies in my head that I would want to hear in the song. I would have loved it!
@@FlawedCoil82 To be fair, it is unmixed (or at least unmastered) and quite raw, so I can see where he’s coming from on the production side of things. I think the song itself is decent.
@@jedley01 thats sort of crazy to hear because it follows the standard progression they have ALWYAS done. The harmonics and melody really stand out to me as one of there best. Its so emotive.

i can only imagine how hard the process of elimination must be when it comes to pick out the songs for an album... these demos are all amazing to me! i wanted to say it was a shame to keep all these from us all this time, but no... i'm grateful they did it this way! Thanks Linkin Park for all you've done for us all these years.

@@arthurlarrubia I saw during an interview that linkin park was possibly making music for halo 2. Makes sense, incubus and breaking Benjamin both made it into halo 2 around the same time. This was probably the track they put together for that but it never made it to the game (halo 2)

@@kbkilla360 They made a track called "Follow" for Halo 2. It played during "The Arbiter" mission when you obtain a banshee to get across the heretic controlled station.
I love this track. The build up the break down the bridge. Everything.
THIS SONG shocked me they didnt attempt any vocals on. Prob one of the best choruses as far as melody goes. Those harmonics are just so poignant.

I've listened this from their underground releases and the instrumental is so catching even without vocals, This could have been a masterpiece with vocals and Chester magic.

This has such a cool vibe to it , remind me of my childhood and Ironically that time I didn't knew Linkin Park exist , I was born in 2001 so I could not 'live' this era of LP but somehow they were able to create music that reminded me of those late 2000/early 2010 years

im shocked songs like more the victim got attempted vocals and this didnt. Chester could of DESTROYED this chorus. So melodic and sad sounding. Not to mention it definitely sounds a tad further along production wise.
