I did Physical Therapy in a hospital with patients after joint replacement surgery. I worked with quite a few who would have both knees or both hips replaced at the same time. All but one of them did extremely well. They had to meet criteria to go home to make sure they would be able to get in their home and around their home safely with the help they had available at home. They were very determined and had a great recovery. All of them said they would rather get it all done at once then have to go through it again. They had lots of care after they were discharged from the hospital too.

My husband's are needing surgery again, but more done this time.
Probably Dilaudid. That stuff is addicting I had it for my back surgery. I don't get addicted to things and I still wasn't addicted mentally but physically and I used one taper round to get off of that stuff I was not going to let anything addict me especially that man that stuff is good lol

Once those nerve blockers ware off 😮💨😮💨😮💨. I helped my boyfriend through one knee surgery recovery. BRUTAL (for him ) I CANNOT imagine double 😮. God bless you guys and a healthy recovery
My total knee replacement hurt only when the pain meds wore off. Icing helped keep the swelling down. Be careful with your knees. You may not be able to knee down on them.
@tayprettigirlswaggmarie84 Your experience isn't universal. When I was hit by a car, in the hospital, I was given morphine, fentanyl, and hydrocodone. I was sent home with hydrocodone. I only renewed the Rx once, then asked my Dr for a different Rx because I didn't want to get addicted. Here I am today, still not addicted. Heck, I still have liquor left over from Christmas.
