In this tutorial we use the properties of clips to manipulate the Scale X and Scale Y parameters of a clip to get the size we want. Then, Position X and Position Y let us change the area we zoom in to. Later, we use the context menu automated animations and finally build our own animation using keyframes. OpenShot has some amazing features!
OpenShot is available for free for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux from www.openshot.org/download/

I've just started using OpenShot, maybe 2 months or so and I've mostly felt my way into things not really understanding what the good stuff did so this video helped me immensely. I have subbed and hopefully you will continue to teach me the use of this editor and other things as well. Thanks for doing your videos and I look forward to watching more.👌👌

      That's just a workaround.
It's kind of stupid that the program does not allow zooming in and out within one clip, but rather it can only do "start of clip", "end of clip", or "entire clip".
I don't want to split the clip into multiple chunks, as I worry that there may be transition problems.

Liking and commenting because you got to the point so quickly. I know youtubers such as yourself have to self promote and i understand that completely but its soooo annoying to have like a 3 minute self promoting section in a tutorial. You did it very quickly and got to the point and i appreciate that. Helpful information as well!

excellent vide! would you know if it possible to change the position of a keyframe? For instance, I have in time 2:00 a zoom in, and a position shift. I am happy with the animation, but I would like the animation to run not a time 2:00, but at time 5:00. Is there a way to simply move the keyframe?

looks realy great. I'm using 2.3.2 on windows and i also use linux version. installed from apt-get on my newest linux mint 18.1. Linux version is as I remember 1.4... something and I must say I prefer old version on linux. It's more straightforward for me and it's also faster and more stable... Is it because windows version sux? Or my win8.1 sux? Or older openshot is better?

I have the free version, is that the problem, no zoom in that one? Or what do I need to do to zoom into a frame. Uploaded a single photo. Thanks

How do make a mask for a small part of a video with the new Openshot 2.3.3, like the photo at the beginning of this video, it has a blur effect just on a small part, that can be done on gimp, but it's for photos, I want to do that to a video with OpenShot.
Could you make a video of that?, on older versions it was possible with a transition effect, with a photo of black and white, but I can't make that in the new version, I can't find the Type>transition to mask menu...
