The Drag Pak Challenger run a small displacement Gen3 Hemi, I think it's a like a 5.8L small block Hemi with a Supercharger, and they're running in the 7's in the quarter... so the 5.7 does have potential & as far as reliability is concerned, it's all in the engine builder who puts it together and assemble it & the parts that used... I was smoking 2 Chargers yesterday on the interstate and both of them were 392's and I left them 3 times in my R/T.... I feel the 5.7 is definitely underrated and looked down upon

I can give you the best reason you buy a 5.7--you are going to get a spare tire! I had to buy an aftermarket spare for my Charger Scat and it eats up a lot of the trunk. At the end of the day, nothing sounds like a V-8--whatever size. Back in the days of muscle, MOPAR's best selling big block, the 440 with a 4-barrel carb was only making about 370hp. The 5.7 makes the same with a more fuel efficient engine with fuel injection.

Had a friend who blew the torque converter under warranty. Dodge flashed the car and claimed the damage was from abuse. So, these cars come with burnout modes, zero to 60 times, etc. However, I wouldn't say you can run the shit out of these cars because when shit breaks, dealers will flash the car to see how you drive the car and look for reasons to repair the car outside the warranty.
    Be cautious.

I'll give you 1.7 million reasons. The 5.7 will cost you $310/month less (for a narrow body). If you invest that over a 40-year career, that's the difference between being dead broke and having $1.7 million dollars in the bank. For what? The difference in real-world driving between the two is negligible.

The 572 was the monster your looking for you also have the 426 and 440. And for modern street hemis it's not even a competition the 6.4 is still gonna more.powerful and .ore capable. But wait.your.gonna say won't take.boost. yeah neither will the 5.7 unless you get better pistons. Why because both the 6.4 and 5.7 right now come with hyperutectic trash ass pistons that the second they get any type of boost they shatter like glass. Also for boosted applications I recommend going from H-beam to I-beam. If you dont know what I'm talking about just stop while your ahead but don't get me wrong the 5.7 is a good motor just it's capability doesn't even come close to what the 6.4l Apache BGE block is capable of.

The 5.7 is a proven platform. Now as far as performance dodge built the 5.7 R/T for fuel economy and drivability. The 5.7 from the factory comes with a very restrictive header that is killing power but remember they didn't put a better flowing header on it the way they did the 6.4 and also another thing for the fuel economy the 5.7 R/T Differential gearing is set up for lower rpm fuel economy and a open differential for better drivability and control. I have changed out both my differential and headers and I am very very happy the way the car pulls and sounds and it looks good af. I am amazed when people talk crap about the 5.7 they fell to mention or don't do their research on why this was done. I have no problems running with scats while getting better gas mileage, easier to maintain, cheaper to insure and hell the 85% percent of the public don't even know the difference

First I say, get what your budget can handle!! I can’t emphasize that enough because I had to learn the hard way trust me you don’t want that. Second I say take all these videos about RT’s vs scat pack’s vs Hellcats’s with a grain of salt, because your decision on which car you pick all depends on what you want out of it. I am personally not someone who would be satisfied with stock power from any of the trim levels offered. I knew going into buying my RT that I was going to modify it and eventually void my factory warranty (which if you think about it the warranty will run out on every single one of these cars at one point unless you extend it) so with that being said if your fine with stock power get what you can afford which most people are content with stock, but if you aren’t just know your going your eventually void the warranty on any of these trim levels. Going fast doesn’t come without sacrifice. If you are into RT’s or just good mopar content period checkout my channel im currently building my 5.7 on there!!
