    ZJK's backhand was a nightmare for him.

      but Zhang's FH aint that strong ...nor his blocks ...i think Kenta lacked in stamina and mental strength .. he can beat Zhang.... talking bout Mental strength , i think its very difficult to beat MaLong..

      Vikram Patil Every shot of Zhang's contains a lot of spin. Kenta had a lot of control blocking his topspin, but in the first 6 sets, I don't think Zhang really cared too much. He was completely different in the 7th set. Zhang is the kind of guy who is really fierce in crucial moments or when he's under a lot of pressure.

    Kenta played to his opponents strengths more thats the backhand..he should have tried to engage Zhang more on his forehand..

      but then again zhang's forehand is very good so i doubt kenta would win either way

    there is smth about uniformity of all top Chinese players that makes them kinda boring to watch... same stroke, uber fast, by the book mental machines (even with Ma Long's new chop block and Fan's quirky backhand). Kenta, Samsonov, Boll, even Ovtcharov all have a very unique style that is so much more entertaining.

    • @lgeiger
      @lgeiger Před 9 lety +8

      There are millions of players with the same "style". Ovtcharov doesn't have a different style than Ma Long, the only difference is how their strokes look like. Their serves also look completely different. It's just the one style that is the most successful, you can't deny that...

      L. Gyger Ovtcharov has the same style as Ma Long? How long are you visiting earth?

    • @lgeiger

      Zev Libin
      We should first clear the definition of "style". For me, style means something like "strong forehand and backhand attacker" or "defensive player with strong forehand counter topspin".

    • @zevlibin8892
      @zevlibin8892 Před 9 lety +2

      L. Gyger well, obviously all of these dudes are all around attackers except for Kenta maybe, whos a part time blocker...yet Kenta, Samsonov, Boll, eand Ovtcharov each have a unique style and finesse in their game and strokes. This makes them way more entertaining to watch then the Chinese robot factory

      MrVoland999 I disagree. I prefer to watch chinese players and their style over european players.

    Kenta is surely more talented ,,,his blocks are just awesome ..i think he can beat Zhang...but he cant beat Ma Long ...

    • @yaweli2968
      @yaweli2968 Před 4 lety +1

      Vikram Patil You have no idea what TT talent is.Get outta your feelings and face reality. Kenta is no where close to Zhang, he managed the game well with slow short sidespin to throw Zhang off.Go back and watch Zhang from London 2012 olympics to Rio 2016 when he ruled the Chinese dynasty before almost paralyzing with back injuries in late 2016.He was whooping everyone and only Ma Long stood a chance to compete.He is the complete player,the best offensive-defensive Chinese player ever,but couldn’t last due to injuries.Kenta with blocks and placement alone, is no where comparable to Zhang.

      hitting a loop requires much better coordination and timing abilities than blocking,that's why most old amateurs are blockers.Kenta is a one trick pony-Zhang was actually the best blocker among the Chinese mixing soft blocks with strong forehands.He just had a plethora of ways to construct a point.Matsudaira couldn't play the margins that's why he had a good run only once in 2013.
