I’m like you I have my share of Veto bags. I needed a smaller bag to work out of, say when on a ladder 🪜 or on a scaffolding. I was just installing some security lights on my house and kept saying to myself I gotta get that bag 😂. I had a pair of wire strippers in one pocket a screwdriver in the other pocket electrical tape in my back pocket and every time I needed one I couldn’t remember what pocket they were in. 😊 Most of the time they were on the ground when they fell off the ladder.

One thing I appreciate is when pouches hang low so I can flex move or not take it off to get into the work rig. I do combine all these pouches and accessories with a cabnet makers sidekick left hand( you'll thank me later if your right handed to get the left hand version) for tape and pika pen. My tools no longer bounce around and stay organized. If the veto MPX fits I think that would work out better. I would be able to pull the MPX out of my MB2 and clip it on my belt. Nice comparison. I like the idea of these but the weight of the pouch itself and a weight of a couple pliers on the bigger ones seem like it'll be ridiculous and really unbalanced all sticking on one side. Personally i use the Occidental pocket caddy, all leather and fits about as much as the mp1, but without a tape clip or any if those tiny pockets. I actually stick it in my back pocket since I wear overalls at work, and it works pretty damn well since the pouch pocket closest to your body is actually the part that slides into your pocket, so the weight of whatever you have in there keeps the pouch seated nicely in your pocket and against you. It's a tight squeeze sometimes getting everything I need into there but might actually be a good thing since it limits the weight. Anything more than what you can fit in there and you're probably better off wearing a tool belt and distributing the weight over your whole body rather than one side at the hips.

The MP1 and MPX are very light, I’ve honestly never even felt like I had any serious weight on me. (All that may depend on the tools you carry)
The MP2X doesn’t necessarily feel heavy, but it does stick out more making it feel more noticeable.

I have an MP1, which I'm still fussing with the load for, and _really_ wish I'd bought it a little later. The improved belt clip on the "X" pouches looks really, really good.
This video inspired a few questions that might make for interesting future videos. (Or, perhaps, are answered in older videos I haven't watched yet. Feel free to just point/link. :- )
    1) On your workbench in this video, for example at 0:30 in, I can see _four_ different drills/drivers. And at a couple points you hang two of them from the pouch as a demonstration. My question is, what do you use the different tools for? I think the four are: hammer drill, lightweight drill, impact driver, installation driver. I've been wanting to have something smaller than my 12v drill/driver for my everyday bag, and wonder about your preferences or tasks that lead you to choose one over the other, especially the impact driver vs. the installation driver.
    2) At a couple of points you mention that you don't carry a tape measure on these pouches. So my question is, where _do_ you carry a measuring tool? It seems pretty fundamental, but then again, you don't need it to fix a leak or change a switch or socket out. Makes sense to not have it on the pouch. But, where do you carry a tape, etc.? I believe you organize your bags and pouches around type of work, so I'm guessing a tape measure is automatic in anything for carpentry, but what about your other bags? (I probably need to watch your truck loadout series, which I skipped because I don't have a truck...)
    3) At a couple points you pull out a couple of different Snap-on tools, which surprised me. One of the things I appreciate about your perspective is, you're not cheap, but you're also not using Snap-on and Festool, etc., constantly. You're focused on having high quality tools (Knipex FTW!), but also focused on value for money, and efficient purchasing techniques. But that leads to a question about, how do you decide when it _does_ make sense to buy something that's objectively expensive, like a Snap-on pliers, vs. staying with something a bit less expensive and very nearly as good, e.g. Knipex, vs. buying something that's not cheap crap, but that's also relatively inexpensive, for example, Klein.
Stay safe, and have a blessed day!

I don’t mind the loop on the MP1… but I do prefer the clip in the X series now that I’ve used them more.
On the 4 drivers.. the main two I use are the 12V Surge and Installation Driver. The other two are 12v Hammer Drill and Regular Impact, they are pretty much my “at home” pair and I use them around the house for a quick grab to not have to go to my truck. I got a deal on them with a free tool, so that’s why I have them.
The Surge and Installation Driver are what I typically use for Day to Day… the Surge more so for Service Type Stuff and the Installation Driver for Project type stuff (cabinets, doors, etc). You could really use either one in both places.. but the clutch settings on the Installation Driver make it better for finish type work.
I also have the M18 Surge and Hammer Drill which is what I use on bigger jobs. Not that my M12 tools won’t do most of it, mostly for battery life.
Because I have the M18 Hammer Drill and the M12 SDS Rotary, I rarely use the M12 Hammer Drill for concrete, usually just a Drill.
I’m going to do several replies so I can go back and read your questions.. I can’t remember them 😂

On the Tape Measure.. I carry a little 9’ Dewalt one in my Main Bag for in case I have to measure something for supplies.
If I’m working where I know I will need one to work with, I carry one in my pocket or my tool vest that I’ve put a Nohlster Clip on.. it never falls out and I really like it. If I have space on my pouch I can clip it there, but I don’t typically keep one there. It’s something I get out as I need it.

Those Snap On Pliers I bought are the only Snap On tools I own.
They are the only one who currently makes them, and that’s the only reason I decided to go ahead and buy them. Harbor Freight is coming out with their version sometime this year, but I will likely never be able to get them at mine when they do.
On when I spend more money… there are certain tools that it is the only option (like the Snap-On). I also have a Festool Vacuum, but that’s because at the time.. there weren’t many HEPA vacuums on the market. (I also got a good deal on it)
Then there are some when, if it’s a brand I prefer because of quality (like Knipex) and the next step down is a brand I might like, but not 50-75% less, then I go ahead and spend more money.
What happens typically if I buy the cheaper, I still end up buying the Knipex because I wonder if it’s better… I just go ahead and buy the one I know I will end up with instead of buying two pairs… the cheaper and the Knipex. If there is a tool I know I want… I never buy the cheaper for that reason. I know myself to well by now 😂
The main thing that goes into my decision… The only times I really buy cheaper tools is if it’s something I think I won’t use very often and the flip of that is I pay more money for something if I feel like it’s going to get used often.
A good example of this is a transfer pump. I could have spent $300 and got a Milwaukee one, but I only use it maybe once or twice a year.. so I bought the Ryobi. I don’t have to worry about the Maintenance of it as much, I can probably buy three of them for the price of a Milwaukee over time.
Another would be my Stabila Digital Levels. Very expensive… but I use them all the time. Their accuracy makes the difference of my work turning out good or exceptional. If I use them, it makes my job easier. Those are not tools that I would even think about not buying the best option that I could afford.
That’s typically my advice to anyone.. but the best quality tool you can afford…. And take care of them. That’s how you end up with a really good tool collection. You can’t end up with all the tools you might want if you have to keep buying the same 10 tools over and over because they aren’t quality or you don’t take care of them.
I tell people it’s something you do over time too.. most people can’t afford to get “All the Quality tools” Day one. I do typically only buy my tools when I get some sort of a deal on them. So I usually get my higher quality tools at the price point of the next tier down. All my Milwaukee tools after free batteries/tools and selling some, etc… I probably got most of them at Ryobi prices. That is what allows me to buy so many quality tools.
      Hope all that makes sense
