The funny thing about this is that this 001 proposal probably wouldn’t actually cause a true end of the world scenario due to the ludicrous amount of resources at the SCP foundations disposal, the fact that the 05 council is made up mostly of anomalous super geniuses, and the insane amount planning the SCP foundation has for anything. I bet that if this actually happened in the SCP world, it would look something like this:
Sun gets angry and a lot of people get melted
If at least one 05 survives which is almost a certainty due to their anomalous nature and their crazy security precautions.
That 05 would have access to hundreds of anomalous objects, and for this all we need is an object that can cause teleportation in some way.
Next the 05 would go get something that isn’t round (SCP 055) then teleport to SCP 579 and boom the universe has been reset to when this wasn’t a problem.
Even if this couldn’t happen for whatever reason, there are plenty of Sentient SCPs with powers that could keep humanity alive or stop this apocalypse, for example SCP 343 aka God. He’s been shown to have reality warping powers, what’s stopping him from uninformed that to stop this apocalypse and heal those melted by it? Now let’s go the the complete opposite of the spectrum to SCP 106, yup The Old Man. He’s been shown to have sentience and intelligence with the ability to reason and use logic, and is only driven by the want to cause pain in humans. Lets think for a second, if all humans are melted into a blob, what is left for SCP 106 to torture? Nothing. Remember that 106 has human level intelligence and reasoning skills so it would be reasonably able to realize this, and thus its a serious possibility that SCP 106 uses its powers to save people so humanity can regrow so that 106 won’t run out of humans to torture.
This is of course only scratching the surface, but just think about the pure amount of anomalous power the SCP foundation has at its disposal and realize that almost any end of the world scenario can be countered somehow, unless the threat is literally just dimensions higher than what the SCP Foundation has access to, so basically in order to end the world some Lovecraftian higher elder god that is simply on another level compared to any known SCP would have to be the one doing the world ending.
TL;DR
It’s basically impossible to end the world because the SCP foundation has access to thousands of anomalous things that would be used to counter whatever apocalypse is happening.
funny you should mention The Old Man, apparently something about his unique abilities makes him completely and utterly immune to the effects of the light in the 'when day breaks' scenario, letting him step out into the sun without being harmed and even possessing the ability to banish the light from his realm on a whim; essentially turning him into a sort of savior for the remnants of humanity, albeit begrudgingly as he showed no intention to avoid consuming his preferred prey when the opportunity presented itself:

It would be cool if there was a scenario where the SCP foundation fortifies SCP-3008 as a new safe haven for humanity during SCP-001.
I think 001 instances would still be able to enter 3008 but still this sounds way more safer than being outside

The only thing that took me out from this incredibly realistic EAS announcement was the fact that 1. they recommend going to Site-19 but they only show a little blip in the middle of Arizona and expect you to find it that way and 2. this is supposedly an international broadcast so who would have the means to travel halfway across the world to a site in the US given the circumstances? Other than those two minor complaints, just perfect.
Well I thought it would be like in case a survivor who saw the broadcast doesnt tell the goop? where site 19 actually is. I'm pretty sure the foundation can use their OP stuff to find non-infected humans in a given area. with regards to the international broadcast thing I'm sure different areas get different messages. I doubt Europeans would get a message in English.

Honestly, this SCP is one of the few proposals I have seen that is worthy of the designation SCP-001. There are a few others I like, such as one that shows off the SCP wiki as an all knowing anomaly, but this one is up there.
This is what I think an EAS SCP scenario alert should be. The ones that attempt some sort of interference just seem a lot less realistic. They get their scares from the overwhelming sense of evil present. This one just gives you feelings of dread at the journey in front of you where your whole way of life has changed.
