  • Welcome to Budapest, Hungary's vibrant and captivating capital!
This is our first time here so we're excited and happy to share this video about this enchanting city!
Budapest is divided by the majestic Danube River into Buda and Pest, and offers a rich tapestry of history, culture, and modern flair. On the hilly Buda side, you can explore the historic Castle District, home to the stunning Buda Castle, Fisherman's Bastion, and Matthias Church, all offering panoramic views of the city below.
Cross the iconic Chain Bridge to Pest, where you'll find bustling streets, grand boulevards, and the awe-inspiring Hungarian Parliament Building. Budapest is renowned for its thermal baths, perfect for relaxation after a day of sightseeing!
Food lovers will love Budapest's culinary scene, which blends traditional Hungarian flavours with contemporary twists.
In part 1 we are trying classic dishes such as goulash, a hearty meat and vegetable stew, and visiting some local shops, cafes, and restaurants that the locals and tourists love to eat every day!
Links to all the places we visit are below:

A few things about the food.
There are many versions of goulash, stuffed cabbage, and stew.
So don't be surprised if there are differences.
There were at least 20-25 versions of goulash in the territory of the former Austro-Hungarian monarchy (Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia, Serbia, Hungary). Hungarian goulash is always soup.
Sausages. There are two bases. The "red" color is the classic sausage. The filling is spicy raw meat. Ground paprika is the basic spice. There is also a spicy version.
The other is the hurka. It is brownish in color. The filling is boiled rice and boiled offal + spices. The liver version has boiled liver mixed in. For the bloody version, blood is mixed.. It is black in color.
Belvárosi Diznótortos is a good choice for these.
