In this Mumbo Jumbo Minecraft video, mumbo builds a cursed minecraft build. An illegal redstone contraption, that ends up being surprisingly cool. This is a Minecraft redstone piston door, where the redstone is on the inside and the door is on the outside. A truly cursed redstone contraption. This is unlike any other Minecraft doors, and it actually involves some complicated Minecraft redstone. It was a fun Minecraft project to work on!

I always skip sponsored segments. I truly was not expecting and had to watch it twice
I do too, both because it shows creativity on the part of the CZcamsr, but also trust on the part of the sponsor to allow that kind of creativity. I'm much more likely to buy products/services from a sponsor that respects a CZcamsr enough to actually hire them for their own unique appeal, rather than just handing everyone the same bland ad read.

Well, it's really quite simple
Tbh Ive made a simpler one which also looks quite lovely it only requires 6 planks!
Don't forget the fact that it doesn't look too bad when you walk through it. Other than the weird way to enter, you could make this into some sort of shop or storage system where the chest is behind the red stone.
Seeing Mumbo take a really quite simple idea, refuse to do it the easy way, and overcome all odds is a very specific kind of Redstone content that nobody else can reproduce and that I love to see again.
So glad to have you back Mumbo!
I finally feel like Mumbo is genuinely back. I've missed weird red-stoning projects like this.
I think Mumbo's sponsor ads is the only ads that I actually enjoy watching. Him being able to show off his videography skills is always a treat!

If you can redesign it so that it faces downward, you could use it as the ceiling of your base and have a daylight sensor as the trigger. So during the day it is open letting in the light, and at night it closes and gives you a nice ring light on the ceiling.

and i'm thinking the "door" the way it is could be used as decorarive trap
like, you have a proper piston door somewhere beneath it, but it's "secured" by a combination lock of some kind
the catch here is, it will open either way, but the wrong combination will also open the decoration, and have lava flow out of it, so that the intruder can't simply leave from where they came from

This would also make for a reasonable aquatic door, since 3D movement is possible.

I love that mumbo works out the redstone contraption in his videos. It is really cool to watch him work the whole thing out and show his thought process. instead of just showing a tutorial.
That door is really cool. It's incredible how well you can compact redstone to create fast, efficient circuits completely filling up a tiny space.
I can absolutely understand the break in retrospect- not only is he back, but even his ads have all the passion and humor we're used to from the main content alone!
And I can't wait for more Hermitcraft. I bet his base has been pranked a lot.

You could use this in a ceiling to make a security room. When open, it surrounds something valuable in four temporary walls of lava that flow down from the floor above. There are easier ways to make that effect but none that would be this cool and satisfying to watch.

Man, every time I see Mumbo upload I get so excited. Then I see that it isn’t the episode revealing his heist on hermitcraft making him the richest hermit, and my excitement does this weird fluctuation where it dips them remembers that it is still a Mumbo video and goes right back up

If you are going to build it into your base (I'm guessing it's the vault you are talking about) then you should do a normal piston door Infront of the centre to really confuse Grain when he next tries to break in after the holiday on Empires.

As a suggestion on extending the weirdness in future...have an outer layer also opening with no visual connection between the two, from a single lever. So a 2 wide gap door around instead of 1.

Mumbo, Grian and Bdubs (Bdubs is S-tier when it comes to "commerrrrrr-cial breaks" bound to entertain) are the best at their sponsorship ads. Scars last one made me pity the popcorn but nonetheless made me smile (I can't say how good Scar is at the sponsorship ads because I think I have only seen him do one. In any case Scar is S tier anyway)

I really liked the karate segment, I've also been learning karate last few years in order to protect myself on the internet so it was nice to see that someone was going through the same thing as me. It was beautiful cinematography too!
Definitely one of the more unusual redstone doors. I can see Grian flipping the lever for hours. It would look right at home in a Minecraft supervillain's lair. Maybe with some glowstone in the center to hide the redstone.
I guess this door could be used as a air vent for a mysterious lab, rather than a door

I think that looks a bit like an opening in some huge futuristic industrial ventilation system. If you are ever building a big futuristic factory and want a "functioning" ventilation, this could actually be a great asset in it.
