Re- watching this I thought just that. Edgar Street's last development was an extension to the main stand in 1989. It is one of the very few grounds left which are almost completely unchanged from before the Taylor Report.

A friend of mine does FIFA career modes, and currently we are trying to get around to seeing all of the teams he's done careers with. One of them was York City on FIFA 14, so we made the trip to Bootham Crescent before it went in January. I think the move has been delayed, but the York fans we met on that day aren't actually that happy to go.
If you do go to Bootham Crescent, get in that terrace behind the goal and drink it in - it's such a lovely old school ground, and I'd recommend the short walk to York Train Station to sample the finest alcohol The York Tap has to offer, if you're able to drink of course.

I have been to Aggborough many a time with Wrexham, i remeber quite a few years ago now playing there in 2003 i believe, the newest stand was under construction and it was a windy day, the scaffolding collapsed onto the pitch and caused a big delay., we won 2-0 that day and was all that bit sweeter as a good family friend played for Harriers at the time (Sean Parrish).

It's shame that it's been demolished but York has need a new stadium for a while and with club's ambition to get back to the football league it's fully understandable.

Thanks for this. Modern stadia are soulless, often overpriced, places just perfect for the plastic fans who sadly inhabit so many grounds these days. Older grounds are just so much more interesting, unique, quirky, fun, with great atmosphere. Of course it's all about the money, not the football or the fans, but we just let the money men get away with it. I'd recommend Workington AFC as the best old school ground, followed closely by Hereford United, Bristol Rovers, Kings Lynn, Bath City, Great Yarmouth, Chorley....Against Modern Football.
