- All the cut scenes and narrative gameplay for individual characters from Assassin's Creed (the Original Game) in full-screen HD. If the character has a speaking part, it should be in here. Disclaimer: the original game is not very cinematic, so there may be a few odd camera angles and awkward pans (I did my best to be gentle with camera movement).
Assassin's Creed is created, owned, and produced by UbiSoft. All footage captured by me. I claim no ownership or copyright of the material used in this video. - Hry
Malik deserves the "Most underrated character" award.
That is excatly why I love him and cosplay him

"I do not accept your apology."
"I understand."
"No, you don't. I do not accept your apology because you are not the same man who went with me into Solomon's Temple. And so _you_ have nothing to apologize for."
This piece of dialogue has stuck with me since I first played this game a few weeks ago. AC 1 is very rough around the edges, particularly with showing Altair's redemption properly, but this part is perfect.
My game kept crashing after that part. At first I was impressed but after hearing it a fifth time I was like “DUDE FUCKING SHUT UP AND LET ME PLAY ALREADY” lol.
I teared up .
ok Panzer you're definitely wrong about the game being very rough especially you saying that altairs redemption wasn't done properly
Stuck with me too. Amazing moment
absolute peak writing, love AC games when they have amazing writing like this
"Rest, prepare, cry in a corner... do whatever it is you do before a mission. Only make sure you do it quietly."
Damn.
Good insult dialogue.
@Kaleb Seumanutafa 7:23
He is still clearly angry at Altair for what happened to his brother
Malik's attitude is like a "How far has Altaïr come in terms of character development" barometer and it's beautiful. Boss Bae and Sass Master.
"Boss bae" is a phrase I've never heard of before, and now there's nothing else that will suit Malik better than this precise description. Thank you for this wonderful contribution of yours to the linguistic archives.
you can't spell assassin without sass
"safety and peace malik"
"your presence here will deliver us both" D'''':
son of god I'm very glad that he and Altair became very close friends in the end
Those words.. They mean so much ♡
Although AC 1 wasn't much in terms of gameplay but the character development was epic. At the start Malik rudely and frustrated said, "your presence here deprives me of both"
Then at the end of the game after the revelations at Maysaf, Malik calmly says, "Your presence here will deliver us both"
Altair: Safety and peace Malik.
Malik: Your presence deprives me of both
(Wow)
Frain Herschel Then he does a full circle later on and say "Your presence will deliver us both"
My favorite comeback in the whole series. Hilarious
I mean I’d be the same if he’s the reason my brothers dead and I have one arm
"Safety and peace." From "your presence deprives me of both" to "your presence will deliver us both". Solid character development for both characters right there.
I know right! I just finished playing the game a few days ago and I was in love with that callback to the start of the game. Like the character development in the game is just so good in my opinion. I cannot express how happy I am with seeing the characters at the start of the game compared to the end of the game and how far they've come and how they've all grown.
"Safety and peace, Malik."
"Your presence here deprives me of both."
Oh my *GOD*
I luv it xD
Malik is my favorite character from assassins Creed. He is so forgotten tho. If it wasn't for him the assassins wouldn't have the apple

@@solahaze8948 He's anything but forgotten as far as fanfiction writers are concerned.
Such an incredible character. He goes from being envious of Altair and flat out hating him to eventually becoming Altair's best friend and his right hand man. Both he and Altair grew and I wish we could have seen more of Malik
Well, to be fair he could hardly have been Altair's left hand man, all things considered.
Wolf6120 hah that’s tough man
Malik was not envious of Altair, he simply attempted to show him sense.
@@bscott465 uh, he literally said so.
@@Alegriacaptions 14:50 I know. But to be fair, I still don't see how that shows he was envious or even at which particular points Malik showed envy.
*For those who don't know what happened to Malik after AC1:*
Shortly after subduing Abbas and recovering the Apple (as seen in Revelations), Altaïr put Malik in charge of Masyaf and went to Acre, where he came across Maria and took her hostage. He came to learn that the Templars had set up a base in Cyprus, and decided to go there with Maria in tow. He then travelled to Limassol, and killing a bunch of Templars (Frederick the Red, Moloch and his sons Shalim and Shahar) followed by Armand Bouchard, Robert de Sable's successor. Throughout the journey, Maria and Altaïr got to know each other and started falling for each other. (All this happens in AC: Bloodlines).
A few weeks later, Altaïr and Maria got married in Limassol, and eventually returned to Masyaf. Maria gave birth to Darim and Sef, their sons.
After the sons grew up, Altaïr placed Malik as the Grand Master of Masyaf before embarking on a decades long journey to the East with Maria and Darim, leaving Sef under Malik's care.
Things started going downhill in Masyaf eventually. 2 years before Altaïr's return, Abbas murdered Sef and framed Malik, imprisoning him and taking over Masyaf.
When Altaïr returned with Maria and Darim, he was told of Sef's demise at Malik's hands. Altaïr sneaked into the prison to confront Malik and know the truth, and upon learning it, rescued him. The next day, he and Maria went to face Abbas' council and demand justice, keeping a weak and wounded Malik in their quarter for safety. Unknown to them, Abbas' right hand man Swami snuck into thier place and *murdered* Malik, and framed Altaïr for the murder.
What follows is shown in Revelations; the sequence where Maria dies.
It happens a little different in the book; as Altaïr and Maria demad to know what happened to Sef, Swami brings Malik's severed head in front of the council, and frames Altaïr for the murder, after which things get heated up, and Maria dies.
*Conclusion:* I wish Ubisoft had at least included Malik's death in Revelations. He was a great side character and deserved more screen time. Thanks for reading.
Thanks a lot brother
"Have you forgotten the meaning of subtlety?"
I use this line in ordinary conversation way too often. Man, this was a great game.
Indeed it is !!! XD I love Malik too
Modern classic for sure

Well it was made in 2007 still an awesome game.
As he warms down, he places it instead of slamming
Glorious... Altair re-learned the hard way the process of the Assassins. To ascertain facts, validate information and think throughly and carefully each action, as fast as one and your brothers can. "Always suspect that you're wrong...". From there you find a flaw, from there you get better, and better.
And that's why the first games is one of my favorites, it forced you to think and act like an actual assissin.
Malik needs to school the recent Assassin's Creed games on subtlety. 😆
XD
True.
Malik in Rogue would have taught the Colonial Creed how to behave properly.
Malik would have berated Basim for teaching Evoir assassin techniques.
"You cannot KNOW anything, only suspect. You must expect to be wrong, to have overlooked something." The dialogues with Malik and Al Mualim are pure gold.
Altair character .. and how he speaks ... his words ....
He is one of the best characters has ever made in Video games of all time
Agree
Malik was such a great character for the writing of this game. It was a stroke of genius to make that character. Characters like Malik do have a name. He’s a protagonist that interacts with the main protagonist in a way that helps illustrates the personalities of both characters. U get to know Altaïr the more u interact with Malik. How does Altaïr responds to his own comrades when they disapprove of his actions? How Altaïr interacts with Malik helps the player get to know both characters.

Wise words. Everyone could learn from this, SHAY.
nice to see someone throwing some shayde
In all fairness the Colonial Assassins were shortsighted and arrogant. Not only did they disbelieve Shay's earthquake story until Achilles witnessed another one firsthand, they used gangs to spy on the Templars disregarding the crimes said gangs were committing and aided France's attempt to conquer the colonies just to eliminate Templar influence ignoring the countless lives they endangered and the policies France enforced (mainly slavery which was ironic considering the presence of Achilles and Adewale). Safety and peace my friend. Your presence will deliver us both...
Why can’t they just fucking remaster this superb game and use the REAL OG voice actor for Altair. I always preferred this one over Revelations Altair.
Me too. Some people complained that he sounds too monotone; that may be true, but in some ways that actually suits this character and the way he always sounds confident and certain. It's not a perfect performance, but it has character
Altair and Malik really deserved a 2nd game, hell even a trilogy, I was happy with the ezio series but Altair and Malik deserved atleast 1 more game, to me that's where ubisoft messed up going into this series when they could've added alot more into the AC franchise if they would've stuck with Altair and Malik for atleast one more game, now today after the ezio story ended it's just being milked with hits and misses after each game released
Their problem was listenning to stupid people with no criteria, if they would have keep assassins creed with the same vibes as the first one we wouldn't have to deal today with the rpg shit
@@leoxanxe3420 that was my exact thought as well, when ubisoft went straight RPG style with AC it kinda killed the franchis...although ill admit AC BLACK FLAG was awesome but every AC Game that has came out year after year after year it's just been a hit and a miss
@@AdamWest1290 yeah I also loved black flag(but the combat was too easy). I think Unity was a good step to making assassins creed more similar to the original, but because of the horrendus realise with the bugs the game wasn't appreciated and there were many good things (In my opinion Unity had the best gameplay in all the franchise, challenging combat system that force you to stay in stealth mode and the parkour was incredible).

Its funny how much of an ass Altair was during the beginning and then seeing him become the wisest of all assassins
Man, the philosophy, dialogue and care given to even the most minor of characters was astounding. The plotlines of ACII and AC Brotherhood were nowhere near as gripping or clever as AC 1
Nowhere clever I agree but gripping? That's a more subjective thing seeing that others were enthralled and immersed in Ezio's storyline
@@itsjustvin7630 Ezio's story wasn't that interesting to me. The fact that all the templars were cartoonishly evil and the main plot being a generic Mel Gibson type revenge story didn't help
@@wwemusicfanC hence why I said subjective
@@itsjustvin7630 while it's philosophical, the first AC game still got flaws. AC2 had meaningful storyline and likeable characters for fans to love the franchise more due to historical events that makes you feel like you're participating. It makes history interesting in the game.
The sequels, some or most of them are flawed but popular, made fans argumentive and later divided. Some of them even blamed Ubisoft for it. Others say that AC sucks now but still like it.
@@CamSiv996 but also ac2 was a step down in terms of templars
Malik is best guide to learn how to accept people who have change for the better
This game was so damn great... Yeah, sure, it’s combat system and missions are not nearly as defined/polished as AC2 or Blackflag, but regardless of that, this game has something going for it that none of the others have be able to recreate. It’s just felt so... right. The time period and atmosphere was PERFECT (not to mention this was the only period that the series portrayed when assassins ACTUALLY existed lol)... And it’s an inarguable fact that Altaïr was the most stoic and badass assassin in the series, hands down. Fantastic game. Needs to be re-released imo.
I wouldn't call ACII's combat system polished, nor would I say IV was well-defined.
@@Arena1999 for the time ac2 was polished but by today's standards ac3 holds up much better in that regard
@@charcoal4742 I think ACIII is worse because the combat is all style and very little input, a trend which originated in Brotherhood.
The first game was one of only two that I could describe as outright interesting, even if it drags a bit in the middle.
@@Arena1999 100% agreed, AC 1 combat system is highly underrated
I still find this game to be the most well rounded and precise ‘execution’ of what the series is about; others have greater strengths in specific areas, but I feel this is its purest form. The nostalgia obviously play massive role in my opinion however.
Time heals all wounds, life's the best teacher, and all that good stuff in these 2 men in 1 game

Ac 1 had something that ac2 never had, the characters, the dialogue, the settings, musics and sounds, the lore.... all this never returns back, hardly they traied but never came back.
That was for me the last blink of incredible respect i had for Ubisoft after the sands of time and i miss these days so much, where games were made to stubborn in every aspect, not only graphics and yes it had its own defects but i will never forget what ac 1 was for my younghood.
Completlely agree man, to me AC1 is Assassin's Creed in it's best and purest form ever
This game deserves a remake above all AC games. Imagine a game with the atmosphere and philosophy of AC1, the more expansive maps of the newer games and the parkour of Unity. We would most likely have the ultimate Assassin's Creed game in our hands.
Thay become friends in the books. Many years later, malik forgives him
AC 1 has to be one of the greatest Assassin's Creed games ever made. For me personally, only AC2 and Revelations come close to it.
It’s rare to see other assassins like Malik wore the same outfit as Altair.

The arc between Malik and Altaïr is so satisfying and beautiful! I wish they expanded upon it more in Assassin’s Creed Revelations, I both love and hate how that game dealt with Altaïr’s story, we should’ve seen more of him in his prime, the relationships he built, the places he traveled. We don’t get to see him interact with Malik once, but regardless the ending is beautiful and given how franchises nowadays treat their lead characters, Altaïr got a respectful treatment in some regard

You still missed a lot dialogue. During each of the three Jerusalem assassination missions, you can access more dialogue than what is shown in this video by doing any of the following:
-During investigation and tracking, return to the Bureau before completing the necessary investigations.
-During the actual assassination part of the mission, return to the Bureau before killing your target.
(One of my favourite examples of this is where Altair returns before killing either Talal or Majd (Can't remember which) and Malik asks him why he's returned. Altair says "I'm resting." to which Malik sarcastically asks "Does this look like Paradise?!" and then promptly scolds him for not finishing his mission yet.)
-Visit the Bureau while NOT on a mission in that specific city.
@Sergej Miladinovic
Oh, I know. I just didn't realize it at the time and then I just never got around to redoing the videos. I think I could probably play this game 5 times through and still miss something!
it was talal! laughed my ass off on this one. how i loved these little extra dialogues before killing the target. mostly because you can clearly see how much malik warmed up to altair, since he became less and less annoyed with him coming back. their relationship is truly something. such a highlight of this game. i love this one so much. always coming back to it. i will try to go to jerusalem while in damascus or acre, thank you so much for the tip!
@@Sevvina
You also get dialogue each time you complete an assassination; but don’t go straight back to Masyaf. While lingering in Jerusalem you can go talk to Malik and he’ll get angry or question why you haven’t left yet, it’s pretty funny.
My favorite is one response out of many after Talal; Malik is pissed and says “Is it disrespect or stupidity that keeps you here?! Return to Masyaf!” XD
Been playing the original AC when it came out and never knew this. I have to replay it again
Watching these cutscenes back to back, they appear not all that interesting, and even kind of simplistic. However, when you play the game and witness all the cutscenes in between - it's a very different story. It's Altair's dialogues with his targets, with Al Mualim and other bureau managers, that show the change in Altair's perception of power, of the conspiracy and his ego gets humbled by it. Only after you feel this turn in Altair from cocky to puzzled, only then your meet Malik, see Altair show him respect, and only then you wow from the believability of it.
Malik was always a true friend despite his resentment for his brother's death. Malik was not a friend in the common sence, the ones that smile and enjoy your company when they see you, He always gave altair true help and advice when he needed it.
The book that Malik puts out is really dusty...
You know so glad Altair said sorry to Malik during his final mission to Jerusalem about the fool jerk villain guy he was when they were in Solomon Temple for the loss of his baby brother Kadar and his left arm was cut off later because of Altair jerk villain moments of breaking the creed but still after killing the 8 other Templars before the final Jerusalem mission at least Altair has become mature and wiser hero type guy all the way hasn’t he right guys!
One of my favorite gaming moments is when he forgives Altair
Judging by his garb, Malik was in the group of highest rank assassins, just like Altair. And the way he managed to escape with the apple makes me think he might be even better than Altair before losing his arm.
altair used to be a cruel and naive man now he is mentor
Such an underrated character!
We are one. As we share the glory of our victories so too should we share the pain of our defeat. This way we grow closer.Grow stronger.

4:04 “You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm!”
This made me think that it would’ve been nice to have him show up in the revelations memories in some way

... the whole game is about the Altairs conflict with Malik and how it gets resolved.
