    Wolf, the 90 degree bend did wonders for my loops! A little something I tried. Just a dollop of hot glue to hold it in place while the Gorilla glue sets up. It works pretty well. Nice loops too! I straightened the line in boiling water and as you said, it removed most of the memory in the line.

    So that one little step has been messing with me for years!! Bend the line. I have also never used the glue!
    All the things I have tried and it was that simple!.
    For your viewers, I'm referring to the Dragon Tooth snare loops. I get them but I have been walking around the block the long way!
    I won't get into detail but this is so much faster and easier then some of the things I have done.
    I can't thank you enough, I have a cage made I have been waiting on this video before I put the loops onto.
    I have one I make called the Phillis Diller snare, it has loops going in every direction. Not planned, just how it came out!
    One thing I do that has been of great help is to watch every underwater video that gets posted of crabs, snaring is first but I watch them all. These people go through the risk and trouble of tossing out a GoPro and for their risk I get to see what the crab do and how fast they do it.
    Thanks to the Wolf I plan on making up half a dozen new snares this week.
    Everyone has a favorite, mine is the Dragon Tooth.
    I also highly recommend to those that don't want to make their own to go to Moon Wolfs site and buy at least two of his snares to try out. After that you will have a favorite too.

    MYSTERIOUS VOICE????
    Update 12/13/20: I just noticed a mysterious voice in the video. I will tell you when I noticed it in the video, what I think it means, and how I noticed it.
    You will find the voice at 14:20 in this video.
    So when someone ask you "How good are the MOON's SNARES?" Let them know that the MOON's SNARES are so damn good, that the afterlife is listening in to the tutorial! Yeah!
    Here's how I noticed it:
    First, I am not religious, more spiritual than anything. I don't believe in ghost. Don't take this for nothing else but some fun. Everything I am about to tell you is the honest truth, but still, all for FUN!
    Here's some background info. First, I don't believe in ghost and I live alone. I major in Mass Comm - TV and Media, so video production is my background. The basic steps to take for video production is Sound, Lighting, and Background. All doors & windows are closed to prevent traffic and outside noises. TV, cell phones, and anything that makes noise is turned off. And your background has to be presentable. All that is checked off the list in this video.
    When I edit my videos, I will edit out some words like "ummm" or "okay". These words I tend to say a lot due to my mind trying to think of the next subject to talk about. I don't do skits. I go with the flow. So these words become annoying and makes the video unappealing.
    One night, I was talking to a friend while I was watching my CPP EPS. 4 - Dugeness Season Updates video. I placed the video on mute to hear my phone conversation better. I mostly use the speaker phone when possible to prevent putting the phone to my ear the entire time. Again, I live alone. Apparently, when you put the video on mute, the caption comes on. So I see the words. The video ends and goes to this video, Making Crab Snares EPS. 6 - Dragonfly & Stingray Loop Designs (Secrets Revealed!). Towards the end, I started looking at the screen as I am talking on the phone. I noticed the word "OK" "OK" keeps popping up. So I thought to myself, "Hold on. Did I do that poor of a job editing? I thought I did a pretty good job with the edit on this video."
    So, when I got off the phone, the first thing I did was re-watch the entire video with the caption on. I went to CZcams's settings and turned on the caption. As I re-watch the entire video, everything seems to be ok. Nothing major with the editing. Until I got to 14:20. Then all I saw was "OK" "OK" "OK". So I turned up the volume to listen to my mistakes. I replayed from 14:15, and as 14:20 appeared, I heard an "OK" that was not me.
    I replayed that part like 100 times since. I told some people who are close to me, and their reaction was incredible. Take a listen for yourself and let me know.
    Remember? How good are the MOON's SNARES??? 😁

      Trippy, made my hairs stand. A while back I was at my womans house, alone trying to get some rest in her room with her room door locked while the T.v. was on, but on mute, next thing you know her door knob to her room door was shaking vigorously, more like angrily then stopped, nobody was home, windows were all shut, but that was hair a standing moment as well, CREEPY..

    I enjoyed your detailed descriptions on making crab snares. Do you prefer tightly "securing" the trap to cable loop or leaving it "loose" to float freely with the current/tides?

    • @TheJoyofLiving
      @TheJoyofLiving  Před 3 lety +1

      I truly believe it makes a big difference in how smooth the loops springs in and out. As well as better stabilization to the Dragonfly loops. When I first started out, I didn't do that. I noticed it caused a lot of problems, and it took me months before I figured that out after many trials. Great question! CRAB ON brother!

      @@TheJoyofLiving Ryan, it matters! Look at the loops on Wolf's snares. Everyone has a favorite set up. Mine just happens to be the Dragon Fly loops on the twinkie type of bait box. I made a few new snares and the way the line is bent counts a lot. A lot of the regulars at the pier are now using the MoonWolf snares for a reason.

      @TheJoyofLiving  Před 3 lety +2

      Hey Brother. Thanks for the support. Until my Amazon store is up and running, there's 2 ways you can get snares from me. One way is to send me an email through thejoyoflivingcalifornia@gmail.com and I'll send you a price list. This option has a free curbside pick-up in Oakland or can be shipped at a cost.
      The second option is to grab the snares from me on the pier; but no guarantees as to when I'll be out there and no guarantees that I will have snares left available even if I am out there. But, no delivery cost! is the positive side.
      I have a video coming out next week introducing my Amazon Store and prices to all my products. Timeline for the opening of my Amazon Store is still TBD after the crabbing season opener.
